The Sheng family of Beijing.
Sheng Xiuwen, the father, and Ye Ning, the mother, opened their eyes at the same time, covered in sweat, their eyes still filled with lingering fear.
Ye Ning reached out and clutched her heart. "Husband, my baby, I dreamt about my baby. Husband, my baby was in the forest and was almost carried off by wolves."
Ye Ning was in her forties. Time hadn't left many marks on her face; instead, it had added to her charm. Stray hairs on her forehead were damp and clung to her cheeks, and her eyes were brimming with tears.
Sheng Xiuwen's heart was pounding. He reached out and pulled Ye Ning into his arms. "It was just a dream."
Ye Ning's eyes instantly reddened, and she gasped for breath, "It's not a dream! It's so clear, I really saw my baby, not Yueyue, but my darling, the little sister I carried for ten months and gave birth to."
Ye Ning clutched her heart in pain, and Sheng Xiuwen quickly took out medicine from the bedside drawer and fed it to her. "Relax, be good, relax first. I will find out the truth, baby, just relax."
That night, all seven members of the Sheng family had the exact same dream, which made them take it seriously.
The next morning, they secretly took DNA tests without telling Sheng Yue.
Soon, the results were delivered to them. Ye Ning, her eyes red, snatched the test report from the sealed bag.
With trembling hands, she opened the box, and the results showed that Sheng Yue and the rest of the Sheng family were not related by blood.
Ye Ning's body went limp, and if Sheng Xiuwen hadn't caught her by the waist, she would have fallen to the ground.
"If Yueyue isn't my child, then where is my child? Where is she? My sister! Where is my baby?"
Her baby was very well-behaved from the beginning of her pregnancy, unlike her previous mischievous boys. Her little sister was not troublesome at all. When she talked to her through her belly, her little sister would often obediently extend her fist in response.
She's waited so long, and now she's being told this isn't her sister?
Ye Ning's voice was hoarse, her chest heaving, and her face turned deathly pale.
"Mom, don't get agitated, relax, don't get agitated."
"Mom, there must be something wrong with this result. Yueyue is our little sister."
"We will investigate this thoroughly."
Ye Ning was breathing rapidly, her face flushed, and she gripped Sheng Xiuwen's hand tightly, "Find...find...find my sister."
Before anyone could answer, Ye Ning fainted, and the Sheng family was thrown into chaos.
The pampered young lady, who was the center of attention, had just arrived at the door when she heard this devastating news. Her face turned pale instantly. She wasn't the Sheng family's biological daughter.
Has the world gone mad? What is she going to do next?
When Sheng Yue's older brothers saw her, their expressions changed slightly, and they walked towards her.
Sheng Yue ran out, clutching her chest.
The older brothers quickly followed, "Yueyue! Wait for your brothers."
*
Xinghe was unaware of the chaos in the Sheng family; she was being annoyed by the two little devils.
The young woman, with a stern face, said, "I want to go back and find my family."
The boy repeated in a soft, sweet voice, "Go back and find your family."
Xinghe lay on the bed with his legs crossed, saying, "I'm an orphan."
The young woman said, "I have family, I need to go back."
The little boy's face puffed out, and he nodded vigorously, "Yes."
The maiden said, "I didn't know before, but now that I know, I have to go back."
Golden Boy, "Hmm!"
"Your parents and brother will really like your older sister," the girl said.
Golden Boy: "Yes, yes, yes."
Two tape recorders kept buzzing incessantly in Xinghe's ears, and Xinghe's mind was filled with thoughts of going home.
She suddenly sat up in bed and covered the mouths of the two little ones.
The world was silent for two seconds, then the sound of people going home filled the air again.
Xinghe's face was expressionless. "Is it possible that they don't want to acknowledge me?"
The golden couple exclaimed in unison, "Impossible!"
The girl seemed a little awkward. "Although you can be a little annoying at times, you're still quite likable."
Jin Tong said, "I love my older sister the most."
The two concluded, "No one can dislike an older sister."
Xinghe thought about it carefully, then nodded confidently, "I think so too."
Why don't we go take a look?
Her family was a stranger to her. She grew up with her master, who was unreliable and would leave her at the Taoist temple for half a year at a time.
They would also stingily stuff melting candy into her mouth, and they would roll up their sleeves and fight with the village children who were cursing her.
After the old man died, all she had left were the golden boy and jade girl and this Taoist temple.
Will they be like the little old man?
Xinghe had just started to have an idea when the two kids over there became even more eager.
The Jade Maiden carefully packed up Xinghe's belongings: a few tattered books, a small wooden sword, a pile of messy talismans, a box containing magical artifacts, and a stone imbued with spiritual energy...
Bring them all.
Jin Tong, with his puffed-out little face, dragged his shirt, which was taller than everyone else, into the suitcase.
There was a knock on the door. "Hey! Is anyone home?"
The voice sounded quite young, but Xinghe couldn't remember who it belonged to.
Then there were two more bangs, and Xinghe's expression changed. He quickly walked towards the gate of the Taoist temple.
"Stop knocking."
Before the words were finished, the dilapidated gate, long neglected and in disrepair, crashed down with a bang before their eyes, smashing to the ground and breaking in two.
Xinghe and the three young men at the door looked at each other in surprise.
Golden Boy and Jade Girl: Oh wow! A sucker has come knocking! Now we have the money to replace the front door. Happy!
A flicker of excitement crossed Xinghe's eyes, and the next second, she recognized the people in front of her.
