Sheng Yue also came down the stairs, her long hair tied back with a ribbon, and her long dress fluttering.
Her face was a little pale. After seeing Sheng Xiuwen and Ye Ning, she slowly shuffled over and whispered, "Dad, Mom."
Tears welled up in her eyes, and she stood motionless in place.
Ye Ning said, "Yueyue is awake, so let's sit down and eat."
Sheng Yue glanced at the two distinct groups of people, bit her lower lip, and said, "Can I have dinner with you? I haven't seen my parents in a long time."
Her eyes were pleading, and her face was a little pale.
"No." Xinghe propped her head up with her hand. "This is what I made. Your breakfast is over there."
Ye Ning coughed, "Yueyue, you should eat with your brother and the others."
Sheng Xiuwen silently shoveled the remaining breakfast on the table into his own bowl, showing his support for Xinghe through his actions.
Sheng Yue swayed precariously, tears streaming down her face. "I understand. Xinghe doesn't like me. I'll appear in front of you less often in the future."
Xinghe stared intently at her with his kitten-like eyes. "Don't you know why I don't like you?"
Sheng Yue cried even more miserably, clutching her chest and taking a step back, her lips turning white. "It was my fault. I didn't know I wasn't related to my parents and brother by blood. It's understandable that you hate me. I'm leaving. I'll leave soon."
With tears in her eyes, she said, "Mom and Dad, please forgive me for being such an unfilial daughter, unable to fulfill my filial duties in front of you."
"Brother, thank you for taking care of me all these years. Now... it's time for me to leave."
Her words made the brothers restless.
They stepped forward and pulled Sheng Yue away, saying, "Yueyue, no one is driving you away. This is your home."
Unable to speak, Sheng Laosan could only glare fiercely at Xinghe with his actions, while the others were busy coaxing Sheng Yue.
Sheng Yue cried with tears streaming down her face, repeatedly insisting on leaving.
Xinghe swallowed the last xiaolongbao in his mouth, then wiped his hands and said, "Don't try to distort right and wrong. I hate you simply because of who you are."
“First,” Xinghe stretched out his hand, “you fed that idiot Sheng Laosan croton oil and framed me for it.”
"Second, you pretended to be scared by a ghost and had a heart attack, then framed me."
"Third, you deliberately cut down the sapling to give me a hard time."
"Fourth, have someone tell those brainless bastards in the Sheng family that they saw me out fooling around with a few shady old men."
"And all those little tricks you play in private," Xinghe said meaningfully. "If you don't want people to know, then don't do it in the first place."
Xinghe directly exposed Sheng Yue's secrets in front of everyone.
The light in Ye Ning and Sheng Xiuwen's eyes turned much colder. They knew Sheng Yue was cunning, but they never expected her to go this far.
Xinghe's kitten eyes curved into a smile. "I hold grudges very well."
It's just that only a few brainless people believe the little tricks Sheng Yue is playing now, and she's too lazy to argue with her.
She can have it, her brother.
Sheng Yue took a step back, her pupils dilated, and her whole body trembled slightly. "I never thought that I was this kind of person in your heart."
She covered her face and wept, her entire body pale as if she were about to faint at any moment.
Unable to speak, Sheng Laosan was extremely anxious and almost turned his anger towards Xinghe again.
However, under the combined gazes of Ye Ning and Sheng Xiuwen, he slunk back.
Sheng Laowu tried to smooth things over, "There must have been some misunderstanding during this time, Xinghe, you just got back—"
"Yes, yes, your sister is so kind that she wouldn't even step on an ant. She's the purest little princess, whiter than a sheet of paper. How could she possibly give that idiot Sheng Laosan a croton seed? It's all Sheng Laosan's own fault."
“She is so kind and innocent, how could she possibly lie to you? She just dreamt of a ghost and then misunderstood that I did it when she woke up.”
“She wouldn’t even touch the flowers and plants, so why would she deliberately cut down my little tree? It’s all my fault for getting in her way.”
"What happened yesterday was even more unexpected. How could the kind little princess see me standing with other people and suspect that it was all messy stuff? It must be that other family members are gossiping."
Xinghe's words left his brothers speechless.
It felt like a wad of cotton was stuck in my chest, an indescribable discomfort. And those words were even more grating to hear.
Sheng Yue's face turned pale, and she immediately felt like fainting.
"Oh no, is she going to faint again? I'll call 120 right away. She really needs to get treatment. She's always looking sick."
"If you don't trust my skills, you should at least trust the doctors at the hospital."
"Actually, I'm also very confused. How can someone with mild mitral regurgitation faint so easily? I must have the doctor examine them thoroughly this time."
Xinghe was filled with righteous indignation and picked up his phone to make a call.
Sheng Yue dug her nails deep into her palms, her face pale. "No, it's alright, I'm fine."
"Oh." Xinghe was extremely disappointed. "Next time something like this happens, I will definitely help you find the best doctor. Please don't shy away from seeking medical treatment."
Sheng Yue's smile was more like a grimace as she leaned against Sheng Laowu's chest, silently shedding tears.
Ye Ning kicked Sheng Xiuwen, who then looked up and glanced at the group. "Aren't you going to eat breakfast? Do you want us all to be late?"
No one dared to disobey Sheng Xiuwen's words, and the brothers, along with Sheng Yue, returned to their seats.
