Chapter 53: Tell the brothers to pack their things and get out.

Ye Ning and Sheng Xiuwen gained nothing from this trip.

They found the family that had taken Xinghe away.

After Zuo Jia abandoned Xinghe at Fuyun Mountain, the whole family moved to several different places and even changed their names.

After Ye Ning and his team discovered that the name they had changed for the third time, they completely lost track of them.

The long journey left Ye Ning extremely exhausted.

After returning home, I learned that Xinghe had gone on an inspection trip with Sheng Lao Er, but we lost contact.

She was furious.

"Is this how you act as brothers? Your sister hasn't come home for two days and you're not worried at all?"

She immediately took out her phone and called Xinghe, but it showed that Xinghe's phone was turned off.

Ye Ning's face paled slightly. Sheng Xiuwen put his arm around Ye Ning and said, "I've already sent someone to look for my sister, and I've also called acquaintances in Huaishan County."

Upon hearing Ye Ning's words, Sheng Laosan's rebellious nature instantly surfaced. "She's not a child anymore. Does she need us to control her when she goes out? If she doesn't come back, she doesn't come back. What's the big deal? We don't need another sister like her."

"Slap!" Ye Ning raised her hand and slapped Sheng Laosan across the face, her eyes full of disappointment. "It's my fault for not teaching you well."

Sheng Laosan was first taken aback, then looked indignant, "I didn't say anything wrong. You were the one who said Xinghe is just your daughter, so what does that have to do with us?"

"Shut up! Stand in the corner and reflect on your actions."

When Sheng Xiuwen lost his temper, even if Sheng Laosan was unwilling, he obediently stood in the corner.

He glared at the remaining people sitting on the sofa. "You too, get over there and stand up."

The eldest and fourth brothers of the Sheng family didn't react much and obediently went over to stand there.

Sheng Laowu tried to bargain, "Dad, Mom, this is too unfair. Xinghe is an adult. Are we going to restrict her personal freedom? Besides, we've already contacted Second Brother's team."

Ye Ning looked at Sheng Laowu with disappointment, "What if it was Yueyue who we couldn't contact today?"

Sheng Laowu said, "Yueyue won't suddenly disappear. She always informs her family wherever she goes."

Sheng Laosan retorted directly, "Why should Xinghe compare to Yueyue?"

Ye Ning's anger was building up when she saw Xinghe and Sheng Lao Er entering through the door.

“Little sister.” Ye Ning strode up to Xinghe. “Tell Mom and Dad where you want to go, and we’ll go with you. What will we do if you and the second brother get into trouble in the deep mountains and forests?”

She hugged Xinghe tightly, pulling him close to her chest, feeling a mixture of joy at having something lost and fear at having it back.

She was worried that Xinghe would be hurt by what Sheng Laosan said, but Xinghe's face showed no sign of it.

Xinghe smiled and said, "I went with your son to broaden our horizons. The mountains of Huai are quite beautiful. We saw a large peach orchard."

"Did you have fun this time? Did you make any new friends?" Ye Ning took Xinghe's hand and handed all the things Xinghe was carrying to Sheng Xiuwen.

Sheng Xiuwen silently accepted it.

Sheng Lao Er silently wanted to follow.

Sheng Xiuwen's face turned cold. "You stand over there too. What kind of remote mountain forest are you taking your sister to?"

Sheng Lao Er had nothing to say and joined the others in facing the wall to reflect on their mistakes.

Sheng Laosan scoffed, "She chased after them herself, and now she's trying to blame it on us?"

Sheng Lao Er frowned. "Don't say things like that again. Xinghe is also our sister."

As soon as Sheng Lao Er said this, the others all looked at him.

The third son of the Sheng family reacted the most dramatically, "Second son of the Sheng family, have you been cursed? She doesn't even recognize us, why should we treat her like a sister? We have Yueyue, that's enough. Someone like her—"

"Third brother, I don't want to hear such words from your mouth again."

Sheng Lao Er has been reflecting a lot these past two days. It's clear that Ming Xinghe is like a lazy kitten in front of others, but in front of these few people, he's no different from a hedgehog.

Is it a problem with the Milky Way?

But it was clearly them who, after returning home from Xinghe, never showed her any kindness.

Thinking about everything Xinghe had gone through after returning, Sheng Lao Er felt as if his heart had been gently pricked by a needle.

"Think about it carefully, we were the ones who were wrong from the very beginning."

Ye Ning didn't want to look at her troublesome sons, so she took Xinghe upstairs.

Sheng Xiuwen carried the bags and packages without complaint and followed along, refusing any help Wang Ma and the others offered.

Ye Ning gently stroked Xinghe's head. "Sheng Laosan is a bit dim-witted. He speaks without thinking. He's been closest to Yueyue since he was little. Once his house in Yunwan is renovated, we'll make him get out and move out."

She sighed, "Over the years, his father and I have worked hard to raise them. We have given them everything we could. We believe we have done everything a parent can do. How they walk the road ahead is up to them."

Ye Ning's expression was firm. "After a while, I'll make them all get lost, and I'll just stay here and protect my sister."

She owes Xinghe too much, and now she just wants to be good to Xinghe. As for the son and such, let it be.

Xinghe's kitten eyes curved into a smile. "Although it's quite excessive, I'm actually a little happy about it."

After a long silence, Sheng Xiuwen said, "I'll have them pack their things and get out of here right now."

As he spoke, he turned to go downstairs.

Xinghe's kitten eyes curved even more. "They can't beat me, and they can't out-argue me. Living with me is just a hassle for them."

"I love how they can't stand me but can't do anything about it." Xinghe reached out and pulled Ye Ning and Sheng Xiuwen. "There are plenty of people who like me, so a few more won't make a difference."

"That's right."

"Those brats will regret this later. When that happens, remember not to give them a good look, little sister."

Ye Ning and Sheng Xiuwen sat on either side of Xinghe, teaching her how to "tame" the few brats.

Xinghe felt as if her whole heart was soaking in warm water, bubbling happily.

She reached out and hugged them both, saying, "Dad, Mom, I really love you both so much."

If having Ye Ning and Sheng Xiuwen comes with the possibility of encountering a few idiots, then it's fine; she's willing to accept it.

Ye Ning was stunned for a moment, and then tears streamed down her face uncontrollably. "Mom loves my little sister the most too."

Sheng Xiuwen's Adam's apple bobbed. "Dad... Dad too."

Ye Ning hugged Xinghe, crying and laughing at the same time, and it took her a long time to calm down. She suddenly remembered, "Your birthday is in two months. We will hold a grand birthday banquet then so that everyone in the Dragon Kingdom will know that our little princess has returned."

"Two months is a bit too short. There's no time to build a castle now, so we have to use what's already there. It's too unfair to my sister."

Sheng Xiuwen thought carefully, "If three shifts work day and night, we should be able to make it."
