Chapter 12: My brain must have been full of shit back then.

"Look at the mess your house is in! How can you still be in the mood to come to a place like this?"

Liao Nanxing's gaze fixed on Zhu Lina: "Didn't I tell you not to associate with her? No wonder you've been acting like a different person lately!"

"So you want to isolate her and make her helpless, so your family can bully her to death?" Juliana picked up her coffee cup and splashed it all over Liao Nanxing's face.

"When she married you, I warned you! If you dare to bully her, I'll beat you every time I see you!" Julianne lunged at Liao Nanxing without regard for her image.

Zhou Chunhua quickly pulled Zhu Lina back to the sofa.

A piece of paper was handed to Liao Nanxing, who took it and said, "Xie...Gu Yao? You...how come you're here?"

Upon hearing this, even Juliana fell silent.

Zhou Chunhua frowned.

Gu Yao, however, remained calm and politely extended his hand, saying, "It's been a long time, Professor Liao. I am now Ms. Zhou's lawyer."

Zhou Chunhua looked at Zhu Lina, who shook her head, indicating that she did not know that Gu Yao and Liao Nanxing knew each other.

While she was wondering, Gu Yao suddenly said to her, "I forgot to tell you, Ms. Zhou, I have a nominal position at Jiang University, so I am colleagues with your husband, Professor Liao."

But don't worry, I'm not familiar with Professor Liao. And since I've accepted your commission, I will do my utmost to secure your rights.

Gu Yao's way of speaking, regardless of whether Liao Nanxing lived or died, made Zhou Chunhua feel comfortable from the bottom of her heart.

The hesitation I had felt earlier vanished instantly, replaced by a greater sense of trust.

"Zhou Chunhua! What exactly do you want?" Liao Nanxing asked, his face grim.

Zhou Chunhua sneered, about to speak, but Gu Yao beat her to it.

“Mr. Liao, my client’s demand is for a divorce, and for you to leave with nothing.”

"I know!" Liao Nanxing shouted, only then realizing that he had lost control of his emotions.

Seeing that people around him were looking at him, he quickly nodded to apologize, and then sat down politely.

She used to think that Liao Nanxing was like a noble young man who had stepped out of a painting, with elegant demeanor.

Looking back now, I realize that my brain was full of shit back then.

"Since Mr. Liao knew this, he shouldn't have knowingly consulted someone else."

"I..." Liao Nanxing was speechless, filled with countless doubts.

For example, shouldn't Zhou Chunhua have been crying and pleading with him to stay? Why did she hire a lawyer? Also, how did Zhou Chunhua even meet Gu Yao?

He couldn't help but look at Julia... It must have been her who gave Zhou Chunhua that bad idea.

That's right! After Zhou Chunhua got married, she didn't even have a social circle.

How could she possibly know Gu Yao if it weren't for Juliana!

However, Gu Yao is a person...

Behind his back, everyone called him an academic hooligan.

He doesn't care about other people's opinions, and even less about the reputation they value so highly.

It can be said that Gu Yao is the kind of person who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

What's most infuriating is that you know those methods, but you still can't do anything about it!

Liao Nanxing nervously lowered his head to wipe the coffee off his face.

"Sir, do you need any help?" The waiter looked at Liao Nanxing with pitiful eyes.

Just as Liao Nanxing was about to speak, Gu Yao spoke first again.

“You can call the police for this man and say that his wife found out he was having an affair, so he was splashed with coffee.”

The waiter's expression changed visibly, a complete 360-degree transformation.

A pitiful look in their eyes quickly turned into contempt.

Liao Nanxing subconsciously lowered her head to avoid the question.

With a splatter, the coffee that Julia had just drunk spilled all over Liao Nanxing's face.

Zhou Chunhua stared in disbelief.

Gu Yao then casually handed Liao Nanxing another tissue.

The waiter quickly ran away under the pretext of refilling the table with tissues, probably afraid that he would burst out laughing and be complained about.

With no one around, Liao Nanxing, as always, looked up at her with haughty disdain.

"Now that you've had enough, let's have a proper talk."

"You must leave with nothing; there's nothing to discuss."

“Zhou Chunhua, as a daughter-in-law all these years, there is really nothing to criticize about you. But you have forgotten that you are a woman first, then someone else’s wife, and only lastly a daughter-in-law.”

Liao Nanxing's cold gaze swept back and forth, her brows slowly furrowing, and her eyes filled with disgust and disdain.

"Yes! I cheated, I was wrong first! But are you not wrong? Think about what you were like when we first got married? You were 90 pounds, youthful and beautiful, you knew how to take care of yourself and manage your figure."

Look at yourself now! Your skin is yellow, your hair is split, your figure is out of shape, and when you stretch out your hands, you look like you're in your seventies or eighties.

Do you think you're still a good match for me? You're clearly no longer compatible with me! So why should I stay with you?

Liao Nanxing rested her chin on her hands: "And Su Mu is more suitable for me than you in every aspect, including cognition, knowledge, status, and physique. Moreover, the compatibility between our thoughts is something you have never achieved and will never achieve!"

Moreover, she can offer me valuable advice and support at work, which I think is the most basic requirement for a partner. And you? Besides being like a mother hen, washing and cleaning, nagging and complaining, what else can you do for me?

Do you know what we talk about when we eat? We talk about academics, international affairs, and national policies! And you? You only know how to gossip about this family and that family, and you can't even talk about anything outside the family quarters! Haven't you noticed that you're no longer in sync with me in any way?

Julia slammed her hand on the table: "Isn't she the result of your own doing?"

"I only asked her to take care of the family, not to neglect herself and become this 150-pound fat pig!" Liao Nanxing retorted.
