Chapter 71 Her anger reached its peak

The story begins after she arrived at the address the young man had given her.

When she got off the bus, she realized that she was in an old residential area in an urban village.

As you go in, you'll find yourself in a maze of narrow alleyways.

Fortunately, the house number was still clear enough.

So after wandering around for a while, we finally arrived at the entrance of that apartment building.

She dialed the phone number the young man had instructed her to use.

Soon, two women who looked to be in their thirties or forties came down from upstairs.

They were wearing work clothes and had name tags on their chests.

Anyway, it looks very formal.

Then they said that to apply for the job, you need to go to the office and find the manager, so they asked her to go upstairs with them.

As Zhou Chunhua went upstairs, she began to feel uneasy.

Because she was sandwiched between them, one in front and one behind.

"Um... this place is too far from my home, and it won't be convenient for commuting, so I'll pass. Don't bother me." With that, she turned to leave.

The two men grabbed her, trying to persuade her while pushing her uphill.

She tried to force her way out, but they pushed her into the house.

With just one glance, she knew that she had most likely fallen into a trap.

Why?

Because there are no offices here at all.

The room was empty, without even a sofa. Several woven bags were piled in the corner, and you could see from the gaps in the bags that they were filled with potatoes.

The smell in the room was indescribable; there was the smell of perfume, the smell of the bathroom, and a stench of feet.

With a click, the door was locked.

Seven or eight men and women rushed out of the inner room.

The two women said to one of the young men, who looked to be in his twenties, "Manager Tao, she's a newcomer introduced by Xiao Xie."

Manager Tao came up to her and held out his hand: "Newcomers aren't allowed to use cell phones. Give me your phone, I'll keep it for you until your training is over, then I'll return it to you."

Zhou Chunhua hesitated for only a moment before a group of people rushed over, grabbed her phone, and snatched it from her.

Manager Tao glanced at her resume.

"Zhou Chunhua. Sister Qi, she's in your care. Perfect timing, let her train with the others who came in yesterday."

After she finished speaking, she was pushed into one of the rooms.

In the room, seven or eight people were sitting in front of a simple blackboard.

He was disheveled and looked very haggard.

One of the girls, who looked about fifteen or sixteen, even had swollen eyes.

She looked like she had just been crying.

In front of the blackboard, a man in his thirties held a pointer in his hand and had a cigarette dangling from his mouth.

Sister Qi said she was a newcomer introduced by Xiao Xie, and the man chuckled: "Xiao Xie is quite something, he's brought in five or six in the last few days."

"Chunhua, this is Teacher Wang. Teacher Wang will be training you for the next few days." Sister Qi asked her to sit on the ground.

Zhou Chunhua glanced at the few people sitting and dozing against the wall next to her, said nothing, and obediently sat down.

At that moment, she knew she had been tricked into a pyramid scheme.

In the following period, Teacher Wang began to feed them all sorts of motivational speeches and so-called success theories.

They even had Sister Qi go up and give a passionate personal testimony.

She said that she used to be a housewife at her husband's house, living a life like a beggar who had to ask for help. She only had a few hundred dollars for living expenses each month, and her husband and in-laws said that she didn't know how to manage money and only knew how to waste it.

Later, she joined this company, and through diligent study, she mastered the business and began to enjoy a comfortable life with monthly earnings exceeding ten thousand yuan.

After the so-called training ended, they were led to sit down in the living room.

Manager Tao gave each of them two potatoes, saying it was part of the company's work meal.

While they ate, they told them that the reason for the work meals was to cultivate their ability to endure hardship.

She didn't even know what time it was.

I could see through the window that it was already completely dark.

Manager Tao was fiddling with his phone when Sister Qi asked, "Manager, how much money does Xiao Xie have now?"

"It's too early to calculate," Manager Chen said, pointing at her. "Including her, Xiao Xie introduced six people. The referral fee alone is only 1,200. But after they've been trained and make money, Xiao Xie gets a cut. How much Xiao Xie earns this month depends on how much they can earn after they've been trained."

As I was listening to them talk, I heard soft sobbing nearby.

Zhou Chunhua turned her head and saw the youngest girl eating boiled potatoes while crying and mumbling, "Please let me go. My dad is seriously ill, my mom is a cleaner, my younger brother and sister are still young, and we have no money."

Teacher Wang came over, grabbed the little girl, and slapped her.

"Why are you crying? Study hard, and after the training, you'll be able to earn a lot of money to treat your dad's illness!"

The little girl must have been hurt, because she cried and sobbed, "I can't lie to my relatives; they've all helped my family before."

"Who said this is a scam? What did I tell you in class? This is to let you lead your poor relatives to make a lot of money! I guess you weren't paying attention in class! Tonight, I'll give you a good lesson."

Teacher Wang released the person, then grabbed two boiled potatoes and wolfed them down.

In contrast, the little girl who had been crying so hard just moments before suddenly stopped crying.

She sat on the ground, shivering.

He whispered, "No, I don't want to. I want to go home, home, I want to go home."

Then she suddenly stood up and rushed towards the door.

The next second, Sister Liu and several other people pinned her against the wall.

Four adults were there, some pressing down on the hands, others on the feet.
