Chapter 32 Dream

"What are you laughing at?" Zhou Jialin was thinking about how to build a rabbit nest, and when he looked up, he saw Jiang Yule laughing secretly.

"Nothing, I just think the little rabbit is cute." Jiang Yule coughed awkwardly and made up an excuse.

She couldn't say that she found it funny because she thought Mu Chuan would fall into a rabbit hole when he climbed over the wall.

"Then let's go back. We've been out all afternoon, it's time to go back," Zhou Jiashu suggested after looking at the sky. They had already reached the edge of the deep mountains. It was estimated that there were not many people coming here normally, so there was no man-made path down the mountain. It would take a long detour to go back the same way, so it must be too late to go down.

"Okay," Jiang Yule agreed, and then he put his small shovel into the backpack, leaning on the branches he had just picked up, and the three of them walked up and down.

Before leaving, Jiang Yule subconsciously looked at the cave she had not had time to enter just now, frowning slightly, always feeling that something was wrong...

"Let's go, what are you looking at?" Zhou Jialin stood there waiting for Jiang Yule who had fallen behind. Seeing that she had been looking back at something, he also came over and looked in the direction of her gaze.

"Nothing, I saw a cave over there, and I felt like there was something inside," Jiang Yule said, pointing in a direction.

"Don't look at it. There are many snakes, insects, rats and ants in places like this where few people go. You must be careful when you go up the mountain with others in the future. It would be bad if there are any poisonous snakes or insects." Zhou Jialin instructed, while taking the backpack off Jiang Yule's back.

"Give me the backpack, you walk in front."

"Okay." Jiang Yule nodded, and walked down carefully with the help of a wooden stick. It is said that it is easy to go up the mountain but difficult to go down. They walked up the mountain leisurely without noticing that it was really steep when they walked down. Jiang Yule almost slipped several times.

After finally reaching the halfway point of the mountain, on a relatively flat road, Jiang Yule sat down on a large rock by the roadside and rubbed his legs that had been tense and trembling for a long time. Jiang Yule let out a long breath, "This is so tense. The deep mountains don't belong to me. I'd better just play halfway up the mountain in the future."

Seeing Jiang Yule's exaggerated expression, Zhou Jialin burst out laughing, "Look at your physical condition. If you encounter danger, you won't be able to run away."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Zhou Jiashu frowned and said unhappily to his outspoken brother.

"Pooh, pooh, pooh, I just said it casually, just ignore it. But Yule, don't dare to run around when you are alone. Don't let your guard down just because the villagers are simple and honest. There are bad people everywhere, just like Mu Chuan. Don't be fooled by his serious look, because you know he has some shameful intentions. Don't get too close to him."

Zhou Jialin never forgot to poke Mu Chuan in the back. Seeing that Jiang Yule didn't react, Zhou Jialin continued, "Yule, don't turn a deaf ear to it. I tell you, I've heard from my brothers many times that Mu Chuan is very famous in the military compound. He usually likes to put on a cold and dead face, and the female comrades just fall for it. There are quite a few who like him."

"Come on, stop misleading me. I don't like the way you look at the military compound."

"Well, that's right. They all look so arrogant, as if they are the best in the world," Zhou Jialin said disdainfully. After that, he glanced at his brother and continued to complain, "You are also one of their gang now."

"Let's go, Yule, we are educated people. If we don't hang out with these soldiers, we will become stupid." Zhou Jialin said as he pulled the stick in Jiang Yule's hand and walked forward together, no longer paying attention to Zhou Jiashu who was still standing there. His eyes seemed to indicate that Zhou Jiashu had betrayed him.

Jiang Yule was dragged away by Zhou Jialin. He looked back at Zhou Jiashu helplessly and shrugged.

Zhou Jiashu, who was lagging behind, looked at the two's actions and couldn't help but smile. The two systems of military and politics were very similar to the mutual dissatisfaction between civil officials and military generals. It had been like this for thousands of years. Zhou Jiashu was really helpless about his brother's idea. In his opinion, civil and military had always been complementary to each other since ancient times, and there was no need to be so incompatible.

Zhou's father was quite rational in this regard, but Zhou Jialin was much more resolute. Fortunately, he was his brother, and who knows what would happen if he didn't allow it.

Zhou Jiashu pondered these and followed

Zhou Jialin in front was still chattering to Jiang Yule about the conflicts he had with his peers in the military compound over the years.

Jiang Yule did not comment on Zhou Jialin's complaints, but as he said, there are good and bad people everywhere. Some children from the compound joined the army at a young age and climbed up step by step, while others relied on their parents' influence to enjoy themselves all day long. Everyone has their own aspirations, and Jiang Yule did not comment.

Zhou Jialin listened to Jiang Yule's unchanging response and suddenly realized that he seemed to have said too much, so he scratched his head awkwardly and explained, "I was just complaining to you, but I was talking about those who relied on the achievements of their elders to bully others. I still respect people like my brother and your parents who actually went to the battlefield. They are real heroes."

Zhou Jialin paused for a moment, looking a little hesitant, and murmured in a low voice after a long while, "In this regard... Mu Chuan is also one of them."

The voice was so low that Jiang Yule could hardly hear it clearly, so he quickly walked forward a few steps and asked, "What did you say? I didn't hear it clearly."

"No, nothing." Zhou Jialin refused to say anything else. He just pulled the stick in Jiang Yule's hand and shook it. Even the way he walked seemed to be nonchalant, but he gave people an unusually cool feeling.

At the foot of the mountain, Nie Xiangdie and Kang Yan walked together, carrying a basket.

"If you ask me, Kang Yan is not worthy of Bai Siyuan. Xiangdie, if you have any ideas, you can try hard. We don't know when we can go back to the countryside as educated youth. It's better to marry an educated youth than marry those villagers." Zheng Meifang held Nie Xiangdie's arm. Her complaining look made Zheng Meifang, who was in her prime, look a little old for some reason.
