Zhou Yanjing frowned slightly, and his eyes swept across her face without any ripples. "This is my business, and has nothing to do with you."
His voice was cold and hard, without any politeness.
Jiang Wei's smile froze for a moment, but soon returned to normal. She took a step forward, trying to close the distance between the two of them, "Yan Jing, I know there are some misunderstandings between us, but I have always cared about you. This selection is an important opportunity for you, and I hope you can pass it smoothly."
Zhou Yanjing took a step back, keeping a distance from her, his eyes cold as ice, "Thank you!"
He didn't want to stay any longer, so he went back to talk to his wife about it, as he couldn't carry out this plan.
He really couldn't stand Jiang Wei always coming to him to disgust him. Talking to her felt more difficult than completing a task.
He left without looking back. Even though they could only exchange a few words every time they met, Jiang Wei was already satisfied.
After a long time, he will always know who is the one who treats him well, and their marriage will not last long.
When Zhou Yanjing returned home that night, Shen Liwu was still cooking. He frowned. She didn't like cooking, but she insisted on making dinner for them after get off work.
Soup was stewing on the stove, and the steaming mist filled the kitchen. Shen Liwu stood in front of the pot, stirring the soup gently with the wooden spoon in her hand.
Her back was slender, her shoulders slightly drooped, and she looked a little tired. Zhou Yanjing stood at the door, his eyes fell on her, and his heart felt sour.
"Didn't I tell you not to cook?" He walked past, his voice low and filled with a hint of reproach, but more of heartache.
Shen Liwu turned around and saw him, with a faint smile on her lips, "You're back? It just so happens that the soup will be ready soon."
She put down the wooden spoon, turned around and picked up the bowl and chopsticks with skillful movements.
Zhou Yanjing took a few steps forward and stopped her, "I'll do it."
He took the bowl from her hand and said in an unquestionable tone, "Sit down and take a rest. Don't you remember that you are a pregnant woman? You should stay away from the kitchen in the future."
Shen Liwu looked at him, a hint of helplessness flashed in his eyes, but he did not insist. She walked to the dining table and sat down, folding her hands in her lap, her eyes following his busy figure in the kitchen.
Zhou Yanjing moved quickly and brought the food to the table in no time.
"Why did you come back so early today?" she asked softly, picking up a piece of food with chopsticks and putting it into her mouth. It tasted pretty good.
Zhou Yanjing sat opposite her, picked up the bowl, but did not pick up his chopsticks immediately. He looked at her with complicated eyes, "The chief talked to me today."
Shen Liwu paused and looked up at him, "The chief is looking for you? What's the matter?"
"You will be joining the special forces for a three-month tryout. The commander gave you the spot," he said, his eyes fixed on her reaction.
On the way back, he thought about it and decided that he didn't necessarily have to join the special forces. If he joined his wife, he would appear passive. What if she didn't like the military research team that the commander mentioned?
If she is unhappy, then he would rather not be happy.
Shen Liwu showed a shallow smile, "This is a good thing, such opportunities don't come every day. Are you hesitating because of the commander?"
