Chapter 124 I helped you do what you failed to do before (2/2)

Shen Liwu's voice was so quiet as if she was narrating an insignificant story, but every word stabbed into Jiang Wei's heart like a knife.

Jiang Wei's face turned pale in an instant, his eyes filled with disbelief and despair.

"You...you bitch!" Jiang Wei gritted his teeth and squeezed out these words. He tightly grasped the iron railing in front of him with both hands, his knuckles turning white, as if he had to use all his strength to restrain the urge to pounce on the other person and tear him to pieces.

Shen Liwu still maintained his composure, and even had a faint smile on the corner of his mouth.

She raised her chin slightly and looked down at Jiang Wei indifferently, "Jiang Wei, you brought this upon yourself. If you hadn't been so stubborn, if you hadn't hurt me again and again, and if you hadn't shamelessly approached Zhou Yanjing, you wouldn't have ended up like this. Your ending today was caused by your own hands."

Jiang Wei's breathing became rapid, and the madness in his eyes was gradually replaced by a deep feeling of powerlessness. Her shoulders trembled slightly, as if she could not support the weight of her body, and she slowly slid down to the ground.

Her voice was choked with sobs, "I hate you... I hate you..."

Shen Liwu didn't say anything else, just looked at her quietly for a few seconds, then turned and left.

She suddenly stopped, turned her head, and said to Jiang Wei inside:

"You're right. Zhou Yanjing is indeed excellent. But he is mine."

She read the letter, which was full of love for Zhou Yanjing. She felt empathy for him.

Jiang Wei didn't like to show off, and she admitted that Jiang Wei would be the one who put Zhou Yanjing first, and even loved Zhou Yanjing more than she did.

However, her mistake was that she was thinking about someone else's husband, and she was wrong to have such thoughts.

Shen Liwu walked out of the visiting room and Zhou Yanjing was leaning against the wall waiting for her. His gaze remained on her from beginning to end, with a barely perceptible nervousness in his eyes.

"What did she say?" he asked softly, with a hint of worry in his tone.

"Nothing, just some useless words." Shen Liwu replied lightly, with a slight arc at the corner of his lips, but his eyes were still as calm as water.

Zhou Yanjing nodded, reached out and held her hand. His palm was warm and had a reassuring strength. He didn't ask any more questions, but just whispered, "Come on, let's go home."

Shen Liwu let him lead her, and they walked in sync with each other, heading towards the sunlight outside.

She glanced sideways at him, the sunlight shining on his face, outlining his angular features. At that moment, her heart suddenly became extremely soft.

She destroyed the letter because she was jealous and didn't want Zhou Yanjing to see it. Even though she knew he didn't like Jiang Wei, she still didn't want him to see it.

Maybe this is possessiveness!

Time passed quickly, and the day when Zhou Yanjing left the army had come. On the morning of his departure, the sky was gray and the drizzle was like silk, falling on his cheeks with a hint of coolness.

Shen Liwu stood at the gate of the family compound, holding an umbrella tightly in his hand, his eyes always following the tall figure. Zhou Yanjing, carrying a backpack, stopped at the door.

He turned around and reluctantly embraced her again, "I don't want to leave anymore."

His voice was low and hoarse, filled with reluctance and attachment, and his arms tightened as if he wanted to rub her into his bones and blood.

The subtle sound of raindrops falling interweaves into a heartbreaking melody.

"Then do you still want to protect me? My chief's wife is in vain?" Shen Liwu pretended to be relaxed in his tone.
