Her voice was gentle and calm, like a spring breeze blowing across the water without causing a single ripple.
The nurse breathed a sigh of relief, and the tension on her face eased a little. She secretly glanced at Shen Liwu and found that the other person's eyes were still gentle, without any blame, so she mustered up the courage to continue: "Doctor Shen, you are really generous. Before, I heard those words from others, and I thought you really... Alas, now think about it, it's really wrong."
Shen Liwu shook her head gently, her tone still gentle, "Everyone has misunderstandings, as long as you are willing to understand the truth, you will not be deceived. You don't have to take it to heart."
The nurse nodded gratefully, her eyes moistened and her voice choked, “Thank you, Dr. Shen. I will definitely trust you more in the future and will not believe in rumors anymore.”
Shen Liwu smiled, reached out and patted her shoulder, "No, go ahead, there are patients waiting for you."
The nurse nodded vigorously and walked out of the clinic quickly.
"Then I'll leave too. I'll come back in the afternoon." Bai Jingnan scratched his head, looked at Zhou Yanjing, glanced at Shen Liwu, and grinned.
"Sister-in-law, don't worry, I will keep a close eye on Chen Yichu and will never give him the chance to do anything tricky."
Shen Liwu nodded gently, with a hint of worry in her eyes, "Be careful and don't take too many risks."
"Don't worry!" Bai Jingnan waved his hand, turned around and strode out of the clinic, his back looking particularly tall and straight.
The clinic became quiet for a moment, with only Zhou Yanjing and Shen Liwu left.
The sunlight from outside the window shone through the glass, falling on the ends of Shen Liwu's hair, creating a faint halo.
Her profile looked particularly soft under the light, with a straight nose and picturesque eyebrows, but there was a hint of worry in her eyes.
Zhou Yanjing's eyes stayed on her. Noticing her silence, he leaned over slightly, leaned close to her ear, and said in a low and gentle voice, "What are you thinking about?"
Shen Liwu came back to his senses, shook his head gently, and forced a smile at the corner of his mouth, "Nothing, I just feel that the situation is becoming more and more complicated."
Zhou Yanjing reached out his hand, and gently lifted her chin with his slender fingers, forcing her to look him in the eye. "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
His eyes were deep and firm, like the stars in the dark night, bright and warm.
"Oh, you came at a bad time."
Shen Liwu and Zhou Yanjing looked up at the door, and saw Mr. Jiang appear at the door, leaning on an exquisite sandalwood cane. His eyes swept across the slightly awkward atmosphere in the clinic, and the corners of his mouth rose slightly with a meaningful smile.
"I hope I didn't disturb you." Mr. Jiang's voice was steady and loud, with a hint of teasing.
Shen Liwu's cheeks flushed slightly, "Old man, what nonsense are you talking about? We are just discussing the situation."
Zhou Yanjing stood up straight, his expression returning to his usual calm and composed self. The tone was respectful but not polite, "Mr. Jiang, why are you here?"
Old Master Jiang walked slowly into the clinic, and the sound of his cane hitting the ground was crisp and powerful. His gaze moved back and forth between the two of them, and finally stopped on Shen Liwu's face, with a kind smile in his eyes.
"I heard that the hospital has been busy recently, so I came to see you." Mr. Jiang's tone was gentle, but it carried a sense of authority that could not be ignored. "You have suffered a lot, child. I have wanted to see you for a long time, but the younger generation at home would not let me go out. I was so angry."
