"Jiang Xue, your classmate is here to see you."
Shen Min suddenly knocked on the door and came in, so Jiang Xue didn't have time to answer Jiang Yue's question and quickly shut up.
His mother values his studies very much and has told him not to do anything messy during his university years that would affect his studies. She said that once he is successfully recommended for postgraduate studies, he can do whatever he wants.
Therefore, her mother must absolutely not know about her stock trading.
"Sis, I'm going to find my classmate now."
Jiang Xue ran away quickly.
Jiang Yue: "..."
"Yueyue, you're here too!"
Seeing her daughter, Shen Min smiled gently, "It just so happens that Mom has something to discuss with you. I'm thinking of changing the bed in your room these next couple of days before Jing Nian is discharged from the hospital."
"Change the bed?"
Jiang Yue looked at Shen Min with confusion, "Mom, the bed in my room is fine."
Shen Min knew she wouldn't have thought of that, and explained helplessly, "You must be fine sleeping alone, but didn't you tell us that Jing Nian would stay at home after being discharged from the hospital?"
“Your bed is fine for one person, but it’s too small for two people, especially since Jing Nian is still injured. If you two sleep too close together, what if you press on his wound?”
Jiang Yue had probably gotten used to sleeping in each other's arms with Lu Jingnian, so she hadn't really noticed that the bed was too small.
"Mom, you're so thoughtful. I didn't even think of that."
Jiang Yue smiled guiltily.
Shen Min smiled and shook her head: "It's okay, Mom will take care of it. You don't need to worry about the bed either, I've asked your Uncle Wang to make one for you."
"Thank you, Mom."
Jiang Yue gave Shen Min a big hug.
Shen Min pinched Jiang Yue's cheek. "How old are you? You're still acting like a child. It's getting late, you should go and get some rest."
After discussing the bed change, Shen Min went to attend to her own business.
Jiang Yue originally wanted to ask Jiang Xue which stock it was, but after going downstairs, she heard Aunt Zhang say that Jiang Xue had gone out with his classmates.
Why is this kid going out so late?
Jiang Yue sighed and went back to her room first.
After returning to her room and washing up, Jiang Yue first drew a few clothing design drafts. After her hair was almost dry, seeing that Jiang Xue had not yet returned, she could only go to sleep.
I'll have to ask about the stocks tomorrow.
As a result, when Jiang Yue woke up the next morning, she heard from her grandmother that Jiang Xue and his classmates had gone back to school the night before and had not come back to stay.
Not seeing Jiang Xue in the morning, Jiang Yue went to the hospital after finishing her breakfast.
When she arrived, she didn't see Political Commissar Yu; only Lu Jingnian was sitting on the hospital bed, and the doctor was changing Lu Jingnian's dressing.
The gauze on Lu Jingnian's shoulder was removed, revealing the wound underneath.
The wound had almost completely scabbed over and didn't look as gruesome as it had at the beginning, but Jiang Yue still felt a lot of pain watching the doctor apply the medicine to Lu Jingnian.
But Lu Jingnian seemed oblivious, and even smiled at Jiang Yue when she came in.
Jiang Yue walked over, took his other hand, and looked at him with heartache.
After the doctor changed the dressing, he smiled and said to Lu Jingnian and Jiang Yue, "Battalion Commander Lu's wound is healing well. You can be discharged in three days."
"Thank you, doctor."
Jiang Yue happily saw the doctor out, and when she returned, she took out the breakfast she had brought for Lu Jingnian and Political Commissar Yu, and asked Lu Jingnian a question.
"Where is Political Commissar Yu?"
Lu Jingnian lied calmly, "He had something to do at his camp and went back early this morning."
Upon hearing that Political Commissar Yu had something to do, Jiang Yue nodded without saying anything more and handed breakfast to Lu Jingnian.
"You eat first, I'll read for a while."
Jiang Yue pulled up a chair and sat down. There were only three days left until the night school entrance exam. Although Jiang Yue knew all the questions and texts, she still wanted to review them. After not going to school for so many years, she really couldn't remember many of the questions if she didn't review them.
Hua Hua has been very busy these past two days because of her night school schedule. She wants to be in the same class as Jiang Yue, so she's been studying very hard.
I haven't had time to see Jiang Yue these past few days.
I heard that Song Qianqian has been busy selling clothes at the market these past few days, so she has even less time to cause trouble for Jiang Yue.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye.
The day finally arrived when Lu Jingnian was discharged from the hospital.
The Jiang family had tidied up Jiang Yue's room the day before, and on the day Lu Jingnian was discharged from the hospital, everyone came except for Jiang Zheng, who was not in City A.
Jiang's father specially arranged for a military vehicle to come over.
Grandma Jiang held Lu Jingnian's hand, smiling happily, "Jingnian, come on, Grandma and Yueyue will take you home."
The old man's words were telling Lu Jingnian that the Jiang family would be his home from now on.
"Thank you, Grandma."
Lu Jingnian obediently let Grandma Jiang lead him into the car, with Jiang Yue following behind.
Seeing this, Jiang Xue, who was walking beside Jiang Yue, pursed his lips and whispered to Jiang Yue, "Sister, look how much Grandma likes it. Our status in the family is probably going to drop again."
Jiang Yue shook her head in disagreement, "What nonsense are you talking about? It's your status that has been lowered, but mine certainly won't be."
Jiang Xue: "..." So he's the only one with the lowest status in this family?
Shen Min took a day off and went to the market with Aunt Zhang early in the morning to buy a lot of vegetables.
Back home.
Shen Min and Grandma Jiang were worried that Lu Jingnian would get tired sitting downstairs, so they urged him to go upstairs to rest.
And Jiang Yue.
"Yueyue, go upstairs and keep Jingnian company. You don't need to help in the kitchen; your Aunt Zhang and I will manage."
Shen Min urged Jiang Yue to go upstairs to keep Lu Jingnian company, afraid that Lu Jingnian would be bored alone in the room.
"I'll go right away."
Jiang Yue washed some fruit and carried it back to her room.
Lu Jingnian was frowning as he stared at the newly replaced large bed in the room when Jiang Yue walked over and handed him a banana.
"Is there something wrong with this bed?" she asked.
Lu Jingnian pursed his lips and glanced at her, then asked, "Why did you change the bed?"
He liked the bed he used to sleep in. It wasn't very big, and when he slept with Jiang Yue, she would always hug him while sleeping because she was afraid of falling off.
This bed is about the same size as the one in the family compound. When Jiang Yue falls asleep at night, she likes to push him away and go to sleep on the side by herself.
The bed was too big, so Jiang Yue didn't like to hold him while sleeping.
“The previous bed was too small.” Jiang Yue didn’t know what Lu Jingnian was thinking, but she could tell that Lu Jingnian seemed reluctant to change the bed, so she didn’t mention that Shen Min had changed it. She said directly, “You’re injured right now, and I was afraid that I wouldn’t sleep soundly and the small bed would touch your wound, so I changed it.”
Lu Jingnian glanced at her with a deep look, his eyes filled with dissatisfaction and grievance.
Jiang Yue pretended not to see it, put the fruit plate in her hand on the table next to her, and began to pack up the things she brought back from the hospital.
Jiang Yue took the books out of her bag and saw Lu Jingnian sitting motionless on the edge of the bed like a block of wood, so she couldn't help but speak.
Aren't you tired?
"Go lie down on the bed for a while. I asked Mom to buy one of those soft mattresses; it's so comfortable."
