Chapter 152 His Past

"What's up?"

Lu Jingnian asked casually.

"Xiangxiang told me today that she knows an uncle who looks a lot like you."

After Jiang Yue finished speaking, she looked up to see Lu Jingnian's reaction.

She sensed that Lu Jingnian's body stiffened slightly upon hearing those words, but he quickly recovered and casually remarked, "There are many people who look alike; this person may not necessarily be related to me."

Lu Jingnian knew what Jiang Yue was thinking. In fact, since he learned that he was not his parents' biological child, Lu Jingnian had not been greatly affected.

Who his parents are is no longer important to him now.

Jiang Yue pursed her lips and asked him, "So you mean you don't want to know who your biological parents are?"

Lu Jingnian thought about it seriously for a moment, then said to Jiang Yue, "At least for now, I'm not ready to investigate this matter."

Holding Jiang Yue tightly, Lu Jingnian said in a low voice, "Yueyue, after all these years, many things are no longer important to me."

Before I married you, I never thought I would get married. I always thought that someone like me doesn't care about life or death. Living is meaningless to me. All I can do is die a worthy death, a glorious death, so that my dad will be proud of me after I die.

He supported my education and raised me like his own son all these years; I can't let him down.

"Even when I agreed to marry you, I didn't have any expectations of you. I just felt that as long as I did what I promised Dad, I would treat you well. If I died one day, I would leave you enough money so that you would have no worries for the rest of your life."

That was Lu Jingnian's thought at the time.

Jiang Yue looked at Lu Jingnian and listened to him calmly recount his past thoughts. Her heart ached as if it were bleeding, and even breathing hurt.

Even though Lu Jingnian's face was so calm, showing no joy, anger, or sadness, Jiang Yue could still see the hardships and sorrows he had endured in his first twenty years.

"And now?"

Jiang Yue asked, her voice trembling with tears.

Thinking about how Lu Jingnian was abused when he was a child, she felt really sorry for him.

"Now?"

Lu Jingnian smiled and gently wiped away Jiang Yue's tears with his fingertips. "Now I want to live well. Yueyue, you made me realize that there are still many things to be happy about in life, and so many things to cherish."

I can't bear to die now. I want to be with you for a long, long time, to build our home together, to have children together, to watch them grow up, and to grow old together...

I want to spend the rest of my life with you.

Lu Jingnian didn't say it, but he was actually very greedy. He didn't just want this life; he also wanted the next life, and the life after that...

I want to marry her for all eternity, have children with her, and live out my life together!

Jiang Yue sobbed uncontrollably; Lu Jingnian's words truly broke her heart... so much...

"Don't cry."

Lu Jingnian gently coaxed Jiang Yue, "If I had known you would cry like this, I wouldn't have said any of this to you."

“If you hadn’t told me all this, I wouldn’t have known you had such dangerous ideas before.”

Jiang Yue buried her face in Lu Jingnian's chest, her body trembling as she cried, "Lu Jingnian, the past is all in the past. You have me now. For my sake, you must take good care of yourself."

Remember this: if anything really happens to you one day, I won't live either; I'll go down and join you.

"Don't talk nonsense."

Lu Jingnian glared angrily at Jiang Yue. He didn't care about his own life or death, but he cared a lot about Jiang Yue's safety.

"You dare to yell at me?"

Jiang Yue bit his chest in anger, "If you didn't have such dangerous ideas, would I have said that?"

"Hmm!"

Lu Jingnian covered the spot where he had been bitten, biting his lip and letting out a peculiar muffled groan.

Jiang Yue looked up at him. The man's eyes were tinged with a scarlet hue, and his deep eyes seemed to hold a storm capable of destroying everything.

Lu Jingnian dared not look at Jiang Yue.

The spot where Jiang Yue bit him almost killed him.

"Yueyue, I need to use the restroom."

As he spoke, Lu Jingnian was about to push Jiang Yue away.

The man's strength was weak, and Jiang Yue hugged Lu Jingnian tightly, her body pressed firmly against his. Jiang Yue knew Lu Jingnian's reaction; having been married to him for so long, she knew all too well what about this man could drive her crazy.

Without giving Lu Jingnian a chance to escape, Jiang Yue pounced on him and kissed his lips.

Her soft hands roamed over his body, like a raging fire, making his blood burn wherever she touched.

"Yueyue, stop fooling around."

Lu Jingnian's voice was extremely hoarse; he really couldn't control himself when Jiang Yue was like this.

Jiang Yue has been very tired these past few days, and Lu Jingnian has been refraining from tormenting her, which has been quite difficult for him.

Please.

Lu Jingnian gritted his teeth, looking at Jiang Yue with a mixture of forbearance and grievance. He was really about to lose control of himself.

"What do you want from me?"

Jiang Yue gently bit his earlobe. "I didn't ask you to hold back."

He used to be very fierce.

"You're too tired, you can't!"

Lu Jingnian gritted his teeth, shook his head, and pushed Jiang Yue.

"I've rested for two days and I'm fine now."

After Jiang Yue finished speaking, she bit down on Lu Jingnian's Adam's apple. The man beneath her groaned, unable to hold back any longer, and his tall, powerful body thrust...

With a dizzying sensation, Jiang Yue found herself lying beneath the man's figure...

"Yueyue, you started this, so you can't beg for forgiveness later."

Lu Jingnian gently pinched Jiang Yue's chin and lightly kissed the corner of her lips. This kiss was like a switch, followed by the man's stormy and passionate actions...

Outside, it started raining sometime earlier...

The temperature has dropped.

Withered yellow leaves fell to the ground with the rain in the night.

But the temperature inside the room kept rising, and beads of sweat from Lu Jingnian's bangs dripped onto Jiang Yue's neck, mingling with her hair...

Lu Jingnian was ultimately concerned about Jiang Yue's health, so after the first half of the night, he let her go.

...

The next day.

Jiang Yue opened her eyes and heard it was raining outside.

Lu Jingnian was still asleep beside her.

The man's large, well-defined hand rested on her waist, holding her tightly in his arms as if afraid she would run away.

Jiang Yue turned her aching body and glanced at the clock on the wall; it was only a little past six in the morning.

No wonder Lu Jingnian hasn't gotten up yet.

As soon as Jiang Yue moved, the man holding her opened his eyes.

"woke up?"

Lu Jingnian gently rubbed Jiang Yue's waist, his voice carrying the languidness and tenderness of someone just waking up.

"Does it still hurt?"

Jiang Yue shook her head, "It doesn't hurt anymore, but my lower back is a little sore."

It was still early, so she didn't get up. She found a comfortable position, nestled in Lu Jingnian's arms, and listened to the sound of rain outside, feeling extremely content.
