"We'll know for sure after you've had an examination."
Dr. Liu wrote out several forms. It was evening, and he wasn't busy, so he accompanied Lu Jingnian to the examination.
The tests were done quickly, but some results wouldn't be available for another two days.
Dr. Liu suggested to Lu Jingnian, "Why don't you stay in the hospital for the next two days for observation, and wait for the results to confirm that you're fine before you leave?"
"No need, I'll come back when the results are out."
Lu Jingnian shook his head; he had promised Jiang Yue that he would go back early.
It's already 3 a.m., and it will be dawn in a little while.
If we don't go back soon, Jiang Yue will start to worry.
"Dr. Liu, please keep this a secret for me. Don't mention it to anyone. Just say that I'm only injured and that we'll talk about the pain relief after the results come out."
Lu Jingnian pleaded.
He didn't want everyone to worry before the results were in.
Especially Jiang Yue.
"Don't worry, I'll keep it a secret for you." Dr. Liu nodded; as doctors, they were supposed to respect patient privacy.
"Thanks."
After thanking him, Lu Jingnian left.
With his arm injured, Lu Jingnian didn't drive and had his comrades who were waiting outside take him home.
When I got home, it was already slightly light, and the Jiang family members were still asleep.
Without alerting anyone, Lu Jingnian quietly took out his key, opened the door, and went inside.
When he returned to his room, he saw that Jiang Yue, who should have been sleeping, was sitting on the bed and not asleep.
"Lu Jingnian, you're finally back."
Jiang Yue saw Lu Jingnian standing at the door. Without even putting on her shoes, she got off the bed and ran quickly to his side, looking at him with nervous worry.
Before Lu Jingnian could speak, Jiang Yue cried out, "Did something happen to you when you went out tonight?"
I had a nightmare. I dreamt that you were injured again, your arms and face were covered in blood…
