When Shen Huaiyuan arrived, he had already made a phone call to contact the local hospital.
They arranged for three doctors and a car to come, so that if Jiang Yue couldn't hold on any longer or if any other situation arose, he could immediately take her to the hospital.
This is the only thing he can do for Jiang Yue now.
Cheng Wei was stopped by Shen Huaiyuan and dared not try to persuade Jiang Yue anymore. He could only silently follow Jiang Yue up the main road.
This mountain road is very long. Normally, it would take an average person a whole morning, nearly four or five hours, just to walk up the mountain.
Climbing upwards with the same method as Jiang Yue, involving three bows and nine prostrations, would be much slower, and it might not even take a day to reach the summit.
Moreover, in order to be devout, they cannot eat or drink while kneeling and worshipping, and they cannot stop.
The road ahead was flatter and easier to walk on. Jiang Yue was also in good physical condition, so the first two hours of prayer were relatively easy for her.
However, the road ahead gradually became paved with pebbles, making it increasingly difficult for Jiang Yue to walk.
It's not that I'm tired, it's just that my knees and legs hurt from the pebbles.
But she managed to hold on.
We climbed for another two hours.
Jiang Yue's cotton pants were already worn out. The people in front of her couldn't take it anymore and either gave up or fainted.
The road became increasingly difficult to walk on, with more and more stones on it, and the pain intensified, feeling like knives cutting into you rather than pricking you.
The number of people is gradually decreasing...
Jiang Yue felt her knees were so painful they were numb, but her mind remained perfectly clear.
The spot where she knelt, the snow-white stones, was already stained red.
Shen Huaiyuan and the others followed behind, and seeing Jiang Yue's bruised knees, they couldn't help but tear up.
"Yueyue, let's go back."
"How about your uncle helps you find someone? Trust me, I'll definitely find another way."
Jiang Yue's knees were already worn out after climbing only halfway up the mountain. If she really reached the top, her legs would probably be ruined.
"Yueyue, listen to your uncle, let's not climb anymore, let's go home, okay?"
If he could, Shen Huaiyuan would have liked to climb the ladder for Jiang Yue, but there was no point in doing it for her.
"Uncle, I can still hold on."
Jiang Yue gritted her teeth and stood up. Her knees felt like they were shattered, and cold sweat dripped down her forehead from the pain.
Actually, she didn't believe in these things before, but after the soul swap happened to her, she believed. So Jiang Yue firmly believed that as long as she could climb to the top of the mountain, all the gods and Buddhas in the sky would surely bless her Lu Jingnian to return safely and bless her child to be born safely.
The number of people ahead dwindled until Jiang Yue was left alone on the road.
Jiang Yue had no idea how long she had been kneeling and climbing uphill. Now, almost everyone on the road was looking at her, seemingly surprised that someone so thin could have persisted this long.
Her knees seemed to be shattered, and Jiang Yue could no longer feel the pain. She could no longer stand up and was almost crawling upwards. The only thing she was sure of now was that her stomach felt perfectly fine.
Perhaps it was the bead her master gave her that worked; her stomach was fine, and even though her pants were stained red with blood below her knees, she remained perfectly conscious as she climbed upwards.
After climbing for a while longer, Jiang Yue finally saw the outline of Pudu Temple.
Hidden among the snow-capped mountains, its white walls glow with a soft, snow-like light, like a compassionate Buddha looking down upon all living beings.
A little further up, Jiang Yue saw an old monk with a white beard standing at the temple gate, looking at her with a compassionate expression, and clasping his hands together and chanting, "Amitabha!" Then, he walked towards her step by step.
Finally, Jiang Yue couldn't kneel any longer, so she could only crawl forward, inching her way to the old monk.
"master!"
Jiang Yue spoke weakly, her blood-stained hand trembling as she took out the copper coin that Old Chen had given her and handed it to the old monk.
"Please help me, Master."
Her master said she didn't need to say anything more; she just needed to hand the copper coin to the other party, and they would know what to do.
"Amitabha!"
The old monk chanted another Buddhist prayer and took the copper coin from Jiang Yue's palm.
"Thank you, Master."
After saying her last sentence, Jiang Yue could no longer hold on and finally fainted.
"Yueyue!"
Upon seeing Jiang Yue faint, Shen Huaiyuan immediately picked her up and called the doctor who had come with him to check on Jiang Yue's condition.
The old monk glanced at the copper coins in his hand, then at the unconscious Jiang Yue, his expression growing increasingly compassionate. "Please bring this benefactor with you, gentlemen."
She's fine; she just needed the medication and a few days of rest.
After the old monk finished speaking, he turned and walked into the temple.
Cheng Wei and the others dared not make a decision, and upon hearing the old monk's words, they all looked at Shen Huaiyuan.
Shen Huaiyuan barely hesitated. After the old monk finished speaking, he carried Jiang Yue and followed him into Pudu Temple. Jiang Yue's knees were sore from crawling that she had to crawl all the way up. How could Shen Huaiyuan dare to take her down like that?
Moreover, he had heard that this master of Pudu Temple was a highly skilled person who could save people who were about to die. Shen Huaiyuan thought that since he said Jiang Yue was fine, he should be able to heal Jiang Yue's knee injury.
The old monk had the young monks in the temple arrange several meditation rooms for them. After Shen Huaiyuan settled Jiang Yue on the heated kang in the meditation room, the old monk came in with the medicine.
He first gave Jiang Yue a pill, and then treated the wound on her knee.
Jiang Yue's knees were rubbed raw and bloody, but the only good thing was that the bones weren't damaged.
Shen Huaiyuan watched from the side, wanting to ask something, but not daring to disturb him.
