"How did you do that?"
Lu Jingnian reached out to touch the wound on Jiang Yue's lips, but he was afraid of hurting her. He felt cold all over and felt extremely sorry for Jiang Yue.
"Let's go inside and talk."
Jiang Yue left Liu Gang and the others to guard the living room, then pulled He Lu Jingnian into the bedroom.
"Bang."
As soon as the bedroom door closed, Jiang Yue's tears, which she had been holding back, began to fall like pearls from a broken string...

Jiang Yue shook her head and looked intently at Lu Jingnian's face. She hadn't seen him for a few days, and he had lost weight and gotten a bit darker. There was also a thin, long wound on his forehead, which had already scabbed over, and it was impossible to tell what had caused it.
Jiang Yue touched Lu Jingnian's face tenderly, "As long as you're alright, nothing else matters."
Meeting Jiang Yue's reddened eyes, Lu Jingnian felt as if his heart was being pierced by countless roots, a dense, throbbing pain. He reached out and gently stroked Jiang Yue's lips through the air with his calloused fingertips, "Does it hurt?"
"Seeing you makes the pain go away," Jiang Yue said. She had bitten herself earlier to calm herself down, and it did hurt a bit, but now that she saw Lu Jingnian, she didn't feel any pain.
"Don't bite yourself next time. If you want to bite, bite me when I get back." Lu Jingnian looked at Jiang Yue seriously. He wasn't just trying to make Jiang Yue happy; he meant it.
Jiang Yue was amused by him.
Seeing her smile, Lu Jingnian finally breathed a sigh of relief and got down to business with Jiang Yue.
"The man who died was the one who had been following Du Yingying these past few days. He stole my clothes and tried to take advantage of Du Yingying while she was drunk to have something happen to her. He was caught by Du Yingying's men and then ordered to be killed by Du Yingying."
Jiang Yue frowned upon hearing this. So that man wasn't a good person either, but Du Yingying was quite perverted.
However, none of this concerned Jiang Yue; she only cared about Lu Jingnian.
"And you, she didn't suspect anything, did she?"
Lu Jingnian shook his head, "She doesn't suspect me for now. We've almost finished what we need to do. Things might get chaotic here tomorrow. I heard from Ye Shi'an that you've finished your business, so you should take Yao Hua and leave S City first thing tomorrow morning. I've already spoken with Ye Shi'an, and he'll come to pick you up and take you back to A City."
Ye Shi'an happened to be returning to City A on business, so he took the opportunity to protect Jiang Yue and Yao Hua along the way.
Jiang Yue nodded, "I've taken care of my business. The fabric and the cooperation have been finalized. I'll take Yao Hua back tomorrow."
After saying that, Jiang Yue suddenly asked Lu Jingnian.
Do you know Liu Gang?
Although Liu Gang didn't show that he knew Lu Jingnian when they went out, Jiang Yue's intuition told her that Liu Gang and Lu Jingnian must have a relationship.
Upon hearing this, Lu Jingnian smiled and said, "My Yueyue is so smart. I used to be his squad leader, but he was discharged from the army after injuring his eye during a mission."
Jiang Yue asked, "Didn't the army arrange a job for him after he was discharged?"

Jiang Yue still remembers how reserved and nervous Liu Gang and Chun Tao were when she first met them, afraid of losing their jobs.
"Chun Tao's family used to run a martial arts school, but the business became difficult, and she had an accident that left her seriously injured, so the school closed down. That's when she injured her hand, which I suppose was because of Liu Gang."
After Liu Gang was discharged from the army, the army arranged a job for him, but this scoundrel was too stubborn. He felt that he couldn't do such a good job because he couldn't see in one eye, so he refused to go.
Over the years, Ye Shi'an and I knew he wasn't doing well, and we secretly helped him a lot, even finding him jobs, but he felt it was troubling us and refused.
Lu Jingnian had really wanted to beat Liu Gang up for a long time.

Jiang Yue thought for a moment, then smiled and said to Lu Jingnian, "Since he doesn't want to trouble you, let your uncle help him find a stable job. After all, he has a lot of connections."

Lu Jingnian hugged Jiang Yue tightly, his heart softening completely.

Jiang Yue looked up and kissed Lu Jingnian hard on the lips. Because she kissed him too hard, the wound on her lips bled again, and the blood stained Lu Jingnian's lips.
The sweet, metallic smell lingered on his lips. Lu Jingnian looked at Jiang Yue as if he were a wolf that had drunk blood, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light.
If the timing weren't so inconvenient, he would have loved to devour the little woman in front of him.
But he was running out of time and had to leave.
Quickly suppressing the pounding in his heart, Lu Jingnian gave Jiang Yue a few more instructions before reluctantly leaving.
