Chapter 35: I finally found a high school textbook

"It's not a big deal, actually. I just want you to help me find some high school textbooks, preferably a complete set."

Jiang Manyue's request made Zhou Laosan a little confused.

"Sister An Ran, what do you want high school textbooks for? High school classes are suspended now, so there's no point in having them."

Jiang Manyue knew that she asked Zhou Laosan to find high school textbooks, and he must find it strange, so she told him the reason she had made up.

"Third brother, you don't know, I have a nephew who wants to go to the Workers, Peasants and Soldiers University. Is it really that easy to get into that university? I asked around, and I found out that you have to take an exam to get in. But my nephew's textbooks were lost a long time ago, so I'm thinking of asking someone to find them for him."

Zhou Laosan had no idea about the Workers, Peasants and Soldiers University, so he really thought that Jiang Manyue was looking for books for her relative nephew. After thinking about it, he agreed.

"Okay, I'll go find out for you which kids still have high school textbooks. Sister Anran, just wait for my news."

Jiang Manyue nodded, thanked Zhou Laosan, and paid the money for the canned food. Then she gave him the key to the courtyard and told him to come to the black market to find him again when the Dacron shirts arrived.

After leaving the black market, Jiang Manyue went to a state-owned store and bought a lot of pastries.

Most of the pastries sold in supermarkets are not convenient to give to children, so Jiang Manyue has no choice but to spend money to buy pastries.

Dividing the pastries into two portions, Jiang Manyue took Lu Junan's portion back home and took the portion for his nephews to Jiang's house.

This time Miao Xianghua was not at home, and it was his sister-in-law Lin Qiufang who stayed at home to do the housework.

Jiang Manyue came in with a lot of food. Her mother-in-law was not there, and Lin Qiufang didn't know whether to put it away or not.

"Sister-in-law, these are the snacks I bought for the children. You can share them with them later. I'm going home to cook first."

The children and their mother were not at home, so Jiang Manyue simply gave the things to her sister-in-law, asked her to help divide them, and went home.

Looking at all the food, Lin Qiufang sighed that her sister-in-law had married into a good family, as they were always so generous.

When Miao Xianghua came back, he saw a pile of food on the table in the main hall, and immediately knew that Jiang Manyue had come.

"This kid is really good at spending money. He can't help but spend the few cents he has. How much does all this food cost?"

Miao Xianghua looked disgusted, but at the same time he was happy that his daughter had married well and had enough money to buy whatever she wanted, so she could live a good life.

After returning home and having lunch, Jiang Manyue entered the space and started to tinker with the shirt.

All the shirts in the supermarket have collar tags, and if she wants to sell them, she has to cut off all the collar tags.

This is a delicate job. If you want to cut off the collar tag without damaging the shirt, you can only use small scissors to cut it slowly, which is tiring for both eyes and hands.

Jiang Manyue was busy in the supermarket for the whole afternoon. She used a pair of small scissors to carefully cut for a long time and finally cut more than fifty shirts.

There are still more than 400 shirts short of the 500 shirts that Zhou Laosan wants. Jiang Manyue calculated that it would take at least several days to cut all 500 shirts.

She would only make 5,000 yuan from this deal, but it was much more laborious than selling shoes and canned food. Unless Zhou Laosan begged her to do so, she would never want to resell this shirt again.

In the next few days, Jiang Manyue was almost on the verge of collapse from cutting, but she managed to cut 500 shirts.

After cutting the 500th shirt, Jiang Manyue threw the scissors away and refused to cut any more.

After all, Zhou Laosan needed it urgently. As soon as Jiang Manyue finished cutting the hair, she packed it in a sack, put it in the yard, and then went directly to the black market to find Zhou Laosan.

Zhou Laosan was waiting for her. When he saw her, he knew that the shirts had arrived and he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sister Anran, you've come just in time. I found this textbook for you, a complete set. It's from my sister-in-law's second aunt's sister-in-law's neighbor's child. He couldn't bear to throw it away and even had notes all over it. That child must have studied really hard back then."

Jiang Manyue didn't understand his complicated explanation, but she was of course very happy to get the complete set of textbooks.

"Thank you so much, Third Brother. You've been a great help."

Jiang Manyue took out the key to the courtyard and said, "Five hundred Dacron shirts, men's, in all sizes."

Zhou Laosan also smiled with satisfaction, took the key and handed her an envelope directly.

Jiang Manyue took it and put it directly into her bag without even opening it.

After agreeing with Zhou Laosan that the next transaction would still be canned goods, Jiang Manyue left the black market and went straight home with the book.

Anyway, canned meat is very easy to handle. She just needs to go to the courtyard two days in advance to handle it. She will read books at home in the next few days. If there is anything she doesn't understand, she will go to Teacher Zhang and ask them.

Those people are probably university teachers or college students, so they should have no problem answering the questions in the high school textbooks.

She could also take this opportunity to improve their meals. They were having a hard time, so she decided to help them if she could. When she applied for university in the future, they might be able to give her some advice.

When Jiang Manyue returned home, she started reading the high school textbooks that she had finally found.

You don't know until you read it. Once you read it, you will find that the high school textbooks of this era are really different from the knowledge she learned in school.

Just talking about foreign languages, at that time she learned Russian instead of English, which she was good at.

The different types of foreign languages are definitely a hassle for Jiang Manyue. Although there are still three years before the college entrance examination, learning Russian is really too difficult.
