Chapter 108 Even the Public Security Bureau Protects Their Family (1/2)

Chapter 108 Even the police are protecting their family

"Xiao Li!" Lin Baoguo shouted, looking at his wife in disbelief.

Li Mei slowly stood up and looked at Lin Baoguo. "Baoguo, if we both go to labor camp, what will happen to Tiedan, Daqian, and Xiaoqian?"

Lin Baoguo opened his mouth slightly and looked at his father and mother who had fainted on the ground. He closed his eyes and tacitly agreed to Wang Limei's revelation.

Lin Jianguo's face turned pale with anxiety. He shouted angrily, "Sister-in-law, you can't frame your own family just to get rid of yourself." After scolding Wang Limei, he looked at the two police officers at the door and said, "Comrade police, you can't believe what she says. She's just trying to get away. You all saw it."

The tall police officer glared at me sternly and said, "Do you know what this behavior is called? This is obstructing public service, and it is also illegal."

Lin Jianguo wanted to explain himself but stopped abruptly.

Another police officer nodded to Wang Limei and motioned for her to speak.

Wang Limei seemed to have made up her mind and told them in detail the obscene behaviors of Uncle Lin, Aunt Lin, and her brother-in-law.

"Baoguo and I weren't involved in this. Late last night, I heard someone talking in the yard. I thought there was a thief, so I opened the window and saw my parents-in-law and my brother-in-law moving things in the yard. All I heard was... 'One more move' and 'I'll piss off their family,' but I didn't see what they were moving. I was afraid they'd scold me if they knew I was peeking, so I just went back to sleep."

"I went to the cellar to get some cabbage this morning, and when I saw the tiles I realized what my parents-in-law were moving last night."

"In the morning, everyone in the village went to my uncle's homestead to see what was happening. I went to see what was happening and heard that some tiles were missing. I guessed...the tiles in the cellar were stolen from my uncle's house. I came back and told my parents-in-law. When they found out, they brought two large basins of water to rinse the tiles and covered them with potatoes."

"My father-in-law said that I can't say anything, otherwise he would let Baoguo divorce me." Wang Limei spoke in a confused and intermittent manner about everything she knew, then she covered her face and burst into tears.

She cried and wondered why she had married such a man. She was afraid that he would lose his job. Compared with divorce, being sent to labor camp was more frightening to her.

After being released from labor reform, you will be stabbed in the back for the rest of your life.

Lin Jianguo slumped to the ground. This was truly the end. Everything was over from now on...

The onlookers sighed in regret. Even their own family members had come out to expose the crime. What else could they say? Lin Da's family was finished.

The Lin family once lived in a large house made of blue bricks and tiles. They lived a good life in the village. Their daughter married a man from the city, and they also found a job in the county for their eldest brother.

Who wouldn’t be envious?

Now he is just trying to get angry with his younger brother's family by stealing their tiles. I guess it will take the next generation to stand up again.

The villagers sighed, feeling that the Lin family had lost more than they had lost for a small gain. The police, however, had no such sentiments. As long as the law was broken, no matter how big or small! As long as one crossed the moral and legal bottom line, they would be punished. As the saying goes, a small punishment is a big warning.

The police had seen a lot of family cases, so after hearing what Wang Limei said, they understood that this person had gone to steal tiles in the middle of the night and hid them in his own cellar, but was unlucky enough to be found by the Lin family using incense.

If they were hiding in the mountains or in some corner, we wouldn't be able to find them. They must be really stupid to have hidden the stolen goods at home.

Generally speaking, in this kind of theft case in the village, each party has its own reasons.

The person who stole something fainted and had no chance to explain himself, and was exposed by his own family. If he was taken back to the police station for separate interrogation, the truth would be immediately revealed.

The tall policeman looked at the two people lying unconscious on the ground and asked the team leader, "Is there a free oxcart in the village? Let's take them to the town."

The captain nodded: "Yes, yes, yes."

He turned around and looked among the crowd behind him: "Da Zhuang, go and drive the ox cart over."

A dark-faced young man responded and squeezed out of the crowd.

"Everyone else, please follow me to the Public Security Bureau to record your statements and you must cooperate." The tall police officer said this in a stern voice and walked out the door.

Wang Limei whispered to Lin Baoguo, "What should we do with the kids? They're still playing outside."

Lin Baoguo looked at the door, walked up to the captain and asked quietly: "Captain, can you take care of my three children? I will give you money when I come back."

A man watching from the doorway sneered, "You don't even know when you'll be back. If you're locked up for ten days, the captain will have to raise your child for ten days."

As soon as these words were spoken, the crowd burst into laughter.

Lin Baoguo blushed with shame, and he looked at the captain with his back teeth gritted.

The captain could only nod, because he was the captain after all.
