Chapter 57: Meeting Li Yurui (1/2)

Chapter 57 A Chance Encounter with Li Yurui

Lin Qingqing returned to the station and saw Xiaomei sitting nervously in her seat, protecting her package. Song Yiyuan had not returned yet.

She chuckled, "Xiaomei, are you like a hen protecting her chicks? Why are you clinging to the package so tightly?"

Xiaomei was all smiles when she saw Lin Qingqing coming back, but then her face darkened again: "If I hadn't been so protective, the seat would have been gone long ago. You've only been gone for a while, and several people have asked me to move."

After saying this, he glanced at the people sitting on the ground, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

Lin Qingqing looked at Xiaomei, who was puffing up her cheeks, and smiled again: "Let's have dinner. Go get some hot water and we'll have some eggs."

Xiaomei immediately opened the bag, took out the aluminum lunch box, eggs, and three buns, and went to the hot rice area.

She sat here and watched for a long time, wondering how to heat up the rice.

Lin Qingqing used the package to cover herself and took out two more apples from the space to eat after dinner.

After they finished their dinner, they started chatting while chewing apples. Xiaomei always had endless stories to tell, and Lin Qingqing also loved to listen to what happened in the village.

Half an hour before departure, Song Yiyuan rushed back, sweating all over his forehead.

Lin Qingqing didn't ask any questions, but just handed over the lunch box, which contained two steamed buns, two eggs and a steamed cornbread that Xiaomei had just heated up.

Song Yiyuan finished his buns with some water, picked up his package and went to get on the bus.

This one is a sleeper, so there's no need to worry about someone occupying the seat, but I still squeezed in.

This is probably how everyone in this generation rides in a car.

There are two lower bunks and one upper bunk for three people. The upper bunk is safer, while the lower bunk is more convenient but easy to be stolen by thieves.

The only upper bunk was given to Lin Qingqing, and Xiaomei slept in the lower bunk below Lin Qingqing so that it would be convenient for her to pass things to her. Song Yiyuan lived opposite Xiaomei.

After the three of them put their things away, the bus started moving. The upper bunk opposite Lin Qingqing was still empty, so someone must have gotten on the bus halfway.

It's almost nine o'clock now. The lights are turned off at ten o'clock, and the three of them went to their bunks to rest.

Excited Xiaomei tossed and turned and couldn't sleep. She was still in her hometown this morning, then came to City D, and now she was taking a bus to City H. She had been to many places in one day, and she felt like she was dreaming.

Since this was Lin Qingqing's first time traveling far away, she seemed much calmer. Song Yiyuan lay with his head against the door, resting his head on his arm as he looked around, and he also noticed the contrast between the two.

Xiaomei's reaction was normal for a village girl going on a long journey. Lin Qingqing was not in a hurry and did not care much about the scenery on the train. Song Yiyuan, who came from a military family, had long noticed this contrast. He was silent in his heart and slowly fell asleep.

Tonight, Lin Qingqing finally had time to enter the space. On the day of the banquet, she had collected more than a thousand sets of genetic data, which had not yet been compared and processed. These were originally the work of her assistant, but now she had to do it herself.

He lay in the gene cabin for three hours before starting to work. He was busy in the space for more than three days to sort out and process the genes. After leaving the space, Lin Qingqing fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning at around eight o'clock, Lin Qingqing was woken up by Xiaomei: "Sister, I heated up some buns, get up and eat some."

Lin Qingqing muttered, "Let me sleep a little longer." She turned over and fell asleep again.

Isn't taking a sleeper just sleeping over there?

Xiaomei glanced at Song Yiyuan awkwardly, then smiled and said, "Brother-in-law, let's eat. Let me sleep a little longer. There's nothing to do in this sleeper berth if I don't sleep."

Song Yiyuan looked at the upper bunk without saying anything, took the bun and started eating silently.

It was noon when Lin Qingqing woke up slowly. She turned around and saw a bag of plums on the bunk next to her. Someone had come.

I stretched my head and looked down. Xiaomei was sitting by the window, looking at the scenery with shining eyes, while Song Yiyuan was lying on the bunk with his eyes closed, resting.

"Xiaomei, take the 岻㦫 out for me."
