Chapter 358 Wanting to Transfer Troops Out of Beijing

The three children were all gnawing on chicken legs while watching Xu Feiming and Lu He.

The movements were almost perfectly synchronized.

Although Xiangxiang is only one and a half years old, she is still unsteady on her feet. After standing for a while, she walked up to Xu Feiming and asked for a hug.

Xu Feiming looked down and thought for a moment, then picked up the child and placed him on his lap.

Thinking about it makes her smile; she likes looking at handsome men.

Lu He watched as Xu Feiming treated the child with gentleness, and thought to herself that if Xu Feiming became a father, he would definitely be a very gentle person as well.

Lu He blushed instantly. Why were she thinking about these things again?

Xiao Nian walked up to Lu He and said, "Auntie, did I miss you?"

“Auntie misses Xiao Nian too, she misses her so much!” Lu He said, pinching Xiao Nian’s cheek.

Da Nian also said, "I miss her, Da Nian misses her aunt too."

"I don't believe it. You recognize your uncle but not your aunt, and you still say you miss me." Lu He questioned Da Nian with a feigned sad expression.

Da Nian got anxious and widened his eyes to explain, "It's...it's beautiful, I don't recognize it."

"You're so glib, Auntie will forgive you." Lu He also reached out and pinched Da Nian's cheek.

After all, Da Nian said she was pretty.

Xu Feiming was unhappy to hear this and asked Danian, "Are you saying that Uncle is no longer good-looking?"

Da Nian continued to blink, staring at Xu Feiming. How could this be explained?

Xu Feiming helplessly patted Da Nian's little head and said, "You're such a good nephew, or do you only care about your aunt and not your uncle?"

"Uncle is handsome, handsome, but not quite as handsome as Auntie." Da Nian still thought Auntie was more beautiful.

Xu Feiming: "..."

I should have known better than to humiliate myself.

Lu He felt a secret thrill and teased, "Looks like I didn't spoil you for nothing, Da Nian~"

Da Nian munched on a chicken leg while grinning at Lu He.

Xu Feiming was both amused and exasperated; his whole family was fiercely protective of their own.

Shen Qiaoyue came out of the kitchen. They had played so well together. Shen Qiaoyue walked straight out of the family compound to call Uncle Xu's family.

Xu Tiande, who was in the city, was working overtime with his wife when he heard that his son and Lu He had arrived. He immediately said he was going back.

Fortunately, Shen Qiaoyue cooked a lot of rice, enough for several people.

Back home, Shen Qiaoyue said to Li Xiaoxiao, "Auntie, should we invite the He sisters over for a late-night snack?"

"The He sisters went to the city with Xu Tiande, probably to spend the New Year with your Aunt Yu. They'll probably come back together, so don't worry." Shen Qiaoyue was at work during the day and knew nothing, but Li Xiaoxiao didn't work, so she knew everything.

“Okay.” Shen Qiaoyue didn’t say anything.

While cooking, Lu He and Xu Feiming helped bathe the three children. Lu He bathed the girls, and Xu Feiming bathed the boys.

After taking a shower, Lu He saw that Xiangxiang was sleepy, so she started to coax her to sleep.

Before long, the three children fell asleep.

When Lu He saw the room her sister-in-law had prepared for her, although it was for the children's things, her own things were well preserved, and the quilts and pillows were wrapped in cloth.

"Xiao He, you didn't tell me you were coming back sooner. I haven't even come to wash these sheets and blankets, but they're all in good condition and still usable." Shen Qiaoyue came in to get some things and saw Lu He making her bed, so she quickly explained.

Lu He turned to look at Shen Qiaoyue and nodded, saying, "I know, I can do it myself. I'm staying for two days this time. My vacation is very short, I just wanted to give you a surprise."

Having worked in Beijing for a long time, she had her own room there. She certainly wanted to make the most of the things in Fucheng, but her sister-in-law kept them very well, which shows how much respect her sister-in-law and brother have for her.

The clothes were all neatly folded, and the backpack and shoes from before were still there.

I had asked her in advance before using her room to store my child's things.

This room still has a very girly feel.

Xu Feiming stood at the door looking around; the room seemed to have a very girlish feel to it.

Watching Lu He busily putting on the blankets, he asked, "Do you need any help?"

"No need, I can do it myself." Lu He refused Xu Feiming's help.

Lu He was too embarrassed to ask a boy for help, especially since he was allowed into her bedroom.

With the children asleep, Xu Feiming, feeling bored, went into the kitchen to help.

"Qiaoyue, Auntie, is there anything I can help you with?" Xu Feiming asked as soon as he came in, rolling up his sleeves.

Seeing that Xu Feiming couldn't sit still, Li Xiaoxiao said, "Help me wash these vegetables."

Xu Feiming started washing the greens, breaking them apart leaf by leaf and putting them into the basin to wash.

"Feiming, you're in Beijing, and your mother has introduced you to several girls, but you haven't really liked any of them, have you?" Li Xiaoxiao noticed that Xu Feiming was getting older and was starting to care.

Xu Feiming kept his head down and worked, then smiled and said, "I haven't met the right person yet, there's no need to rush."

Xu Feiming had already prepared himself not to get married, but he didn't voice this idea because he didn't want his family to worry.

"I heard you applied for a transfer to another area. What does that mean? If your parents find out, they'll think you're annoyed by their pressure to get married?" Li Xiaoxiao was also testing the waters. Shen Yuanyi works in Beijing and knows a bit about military matters.

Xu Fei knew he couldn't hide it.

Shen Qiaoyue watched from the side, realizing that Xu Feiming was about to be transferred from the Beijing military unit to another unit.

"I submitted an application to go to a military unit outside the city to broaden my horizons. Now that military academies have resumed enrollment, they are training a group of talents. I plan to go to Harbin." Xu Feiming had indeed seen the backwardness of the military, and he was also frequently pressured to get married by his superiors in Beijing.

I was thinking that a change of environment would be better.

“But you were transferred from another place to Beijing to be a battalion commander, and from battalion commander to political commissar. What will happen to your future if you leave like this?” Li Xiaoxiao asked Xu Feiming with concern.

"My future is irrelevant to me. As long as I'm doing what I love, that's fine. There's nothing wrong with being an instructor at a school," Xu Feiming added.

"But I heard that if you go to the school, you won't be an instructor, but a secretary, and you won't be involved in training the students."

Li Xiaoxiao was quick to speak and blurted everything out at once.

Xu Feiming paused, and Shen Qiaiyue noticed his unusual behavior.

It seems that Xu Feiming still prefers training to being a political commissar.

Li Xiaoxiao chose to remain silent.

"I haven't received any notification about this yet." Xu Feiming smiled but didn't say anything.

There was silence in the kitchen for a while.

I heard someone outside coming back.

When Lu He finished her work and came out of the room, she saw Yu Qingce and Uncle Xu.

"Aunt Yu?" Lu He greeted her happily as she came out from inside.

"Xiao He, my good child, you're back?" Yu Qingce wasn't even this happy when he heard his son was back. He was incredibly excited when he heard that Lu He was here.
