My uncle said that his beloved retreated with the logistics and guard troops, but because they were betrayed, all their family members inside were killed.
Most of them were family members of battalion commanders, many of them pregnant women. They were found dead in a deep mountain area, presumably because they had nowhere else to hide and had to go into the mountains to wait for rescue.
Uncle Jiang's wife was not found among those who passed away.
If the villagers rescued him, then perhaps his uncle's wife is still alive, and Lu Chen might be the child of one of the survivors among these military families. More than twenty years have passed since then, and Lu Chen's age just matches up.
"It matches up, it matches up!"
Shen Qiaoyue looked at her second uncle, who hadn't gone far, and clutched her stomach, wanting to chase after him.
"Where are you going?" Lu Chen asked worriedly, pulling on Shen Qiaoyue's arm.
"I have something to say to my second uncle." Shen Qiaoyue tried to shake off Lu Chen and chase after him.
Seeing Shen Qiaoyue so agitated, Liu Xinlan asked, "Qiaoyue, is there something you absolutely have to say now?"
"It's very important, hurry and stop your uncle." Seeing that she couldn't catch up, Shen Qiaoyue pushed Lu Chen to hurry up.
Shen Qiaoyu noticed that Shen Qiaoyue was acting mysteriously and seemed to be in a hurry.
"Lu Chen, go check if Second Uncle has left yet. Don't let Qiaoyue get so agitated." Chen Qiaoyu was also worried about her sister's unstable emotions.
"Okay." Lu Chen released Shen Qiaoyue, and Liu Xinlan stepped forward to support her.
He ran out as fast as he could.
Shen Qiaoyue quickened her pace and followed.
Liu Xinlan, worried, helped Shen Qiaoyue up.
"Qiaoyue, what's wrong with you!" Shen Qiaoyu asked in confusion, wondering to herself, "Is it because you know why Second Uncle is being transferred away from here that you're so agitated?"
