Chapter 261: Follow the Process (1/2)

"Wang Yitong, female, eleven years old, currently works at a daily newspaper. She was recently hired as a full-time employee after her internship. She is a field reporter for the newspaper and is responsible for writing interview manuscripts. Her monthly salary is 60 yuan. As she does not have enough years of service, she does not receive any seniority subsidies, and she is not eligible to apply for housing." Wang Yitong said.

"There are three people in my family, my mom, my dad, and I. We have two houses. My dad is a retired employee with a salary, but my mom has no job and no pension. She has a disease that requires long-term medication." Wang Yitong continued, and just like what Zhao Yuan said, she also carefully explained her family conditions.

It is precisely because of this that she is so short of money. If the money from the newspaper is only used for their daily expenses, it is completely enough. However, if she has a long-term chronic disease and needs to take medicine, it is not enough.

Her mother always felt that she was a burden to her and her father and wanted to commit suicide. She was also anxious to get her to go on blind dates and get married so that she would have someone to rely on and wouldn't have to worry about them anymore.

She knew her family's financial situation and didn't want to burden others.

"That's about it. Why don't we just..." After Wang Yitong finished speaking, she thought for a moment and looked at Zhao Yuan. She was about to say that they should go back separately.

Zhao Yuan gulped down the water in the cup, listened to what Wang Yitong said, and nodded without any expression on his face. He just handed over the menu after Wang Yitong finished speaking.

"Okay, now that we've introduced each other, let's eat something? Don't people on blind dates need to eat something?" Zhao Yuan asked Wang Yitong.

Wang Yitong listened to what Zhao Yuan said, glanced at Zhao Yuan, and had to swallow the rest of the words. She took the menu in her hand, took a look, and didn't order any staple food, so she ordered two snacks.

Jiang Xia and Lu Yuanting had just treated them to a meal, so they were not hungry yet. The snacks would fill their stomachs and taste good, and they were not expensive.

After the food came up, the two of them didn't say much. Zhao Yuan looked at Wang Yitong, not knowing what to say, and the two of them concentrated on eating snacks.

"Is your newspaper always busy? Do you often go out on collecting assignments? Then can I often see your articles in the newspaper?" Zhao Yuan asked Wang Yitong.

Wang Yitong listened to Zhao Yuan mentioning her work, opened her mouth, nodded and shook her head.

"I was an intern at a newspaper before. Xia Xia resigned and recommended me, so I was able to fill her position as a full-time employee. However, I don't have enough experience. For big jobs, I am an assistant, but I can do small interviews on my own. At present, I don't have the ability to write an article independently and sign my name. I don't have enough qualifications."

"So where have you been to conduct interviews?" Zhao Yuan listened to Wang Yitong's words and nodded.

Wang Yitong started talking after listening to Zhao Yuan's question. She liked her work, and her eyes sparkled when she talked about it, and she looked shy, but when she spoke, she was clear and coherent.

Zhao Yuan listened to what Wang Yitong said, nodding and interrupting from time to time, and sharing some of the activities of his own troops, some thrilling missions that did not need to be kept confidential, how there were crises, and the scenery and places he had seen.

Zhao Yuan was an active and outgoing person, good at speaking, and he never let the atmosphere become dull. As he spoke, Wang Yitong became engrossed in listening.

By the time the two realized how late it was, it was already dark. Several hours had passed and the boiled water in the cup had gone cold.

Zhao Yuan watched Wang Yitong stand up, and he hurried to pay the bill. They didn't eat much, and Wang Yitong was very polite. The dishes he ordered were all inexpensive snacks that didn't cost much.

"Shall I take you home?" Zhao Yuan looked at Wang Yitong and asked.

"No, my home is not far from here. I'll go back as soon as I can. I've kept you for a long time today." Wang Yitong shook her head after listening to Zhao Yuan's words, stood up and prepared to leave. It seemed that she did not expect that she could chat with Zhao Yuan for so long. She originally planned to talk for a few seconds and then leave.

"Oh, okay." Zhao Yuan listened to Wang Yitong's words and didn't say anything else. He followed Wang Yitong out.

Zhao Yuan looked at Wang Yitong as she was about to leave, with a conflicted look on his face. He wanted to step forward but didn't know whether he should say something.

Finally, Zhao Yuan spoke.
