Chapter 233: Eating and Taking

Goudan smiled happily after hearing this, and then turned his expectant eyes to Ning Qingyuan, waiting for his answer.

Ning Qingyuan was touched by Goudan's cuteness and liked this child very much. He squatted down and looked at Goudan straight in the eye before saying with a smile:

"Thank you, Goudan, for the meat. It's delicious. It's the best meat I've ever eaten."

Although he was talking about meat, Goudan thought he was being praised and laughed out loud. Then he ran into the kitchen without saying a word.

When Ning Xiyue and Ning Qingyuan were wondering, Goudan ran out with a plate of bacon and handed it to them with a smile.

Aunt Huaihua ran out and saw her son brought the meat to Ning Xiyue, then she returned to the kitchen with peace of mind.

Ning Xiyue: "..."

Ning Qingyuan: Shocked Face

This, this kid is too honest.

Ning Xiyue was at a loss whether to laugh or cry, and quickly stopped Goudan from stuffing a plate of meat into her hands.

They were just praising him and definitely not trying to get the meat. The kid really didn't treat them as outsiders and even brought the plates to them.

"Goudan, big sister and big brother don't want to eat anymore. Go and put the meat away for your mother. Let's play together in the yard for a while."

Goudan insisted on handing it over at first. Ning Xiyue and Ning Qingyuan had to persuade Goudan to put the meat back. They only felt relieved after seeing him hand the meat to Aunt Huaihua.

During the meal, Aunt Huaihua specially placed the plate of bacon in front of Ning Xiyue and her brother, and warmly invited them to eat.

Uncle Anguo was even worse. He placed several bowls of hard dishes in front of them, fearing that they would not be able to eat meat.

When they were leaving after dinner, Aunt Huaihua hurried out of the kitchen and called Ning Xiyue, and stuffed something into her arms. It was a piece of thing wrapped in many pieces of waste newspaper, and it felt hard.

"Aunt Huaihua, what is this?"

Ning Xiyue held the things in her hands helplessly, looking at Aunt Huaihua and Uncle An Guo who came out to see them off with a blank look.

Aunt Huaihua waved her hand nonchalantly and didn't answer: "I packed it specially for you, take it back and take a look."

Ning Xiyue fiddled with the newspaper and seemed to smell a faint scent at the tip of her nose, as if she knew what was inside.

It was nothing but the smell of smoked bacon.

She pushed the thing in her hand back and said, "Auntie, there's no need for that. We're all on the same team. There's no need to be so polite."

"Yes, you're welcome. Then, Xiyue girl, feel free to take it." Uncle Anguo nodded in agreement, pushed the things back, and pretended to be angry and said, "If you don't take it, I'll be angry."

After refusing several times, Ning Xiyue accepted it reluctantly. She said goodbye quickly and pulled her second brother back. She didn't want to stay any longer because Uncle An Guo and his wife would stuff other things into them.

This meal was eaten while taking something away.

After returning to the Youth League Home, Ning Xiyue unfolded the layers of newspaper, and there was indeed a piece of smoked bacon inside.

Ning Qingyuan was stunned when he saw the piece of meat: "This? Shouldn't we praise Goudan for the delicious meat?"

"Too enthusiastic." Ning Xiyue covered her face.

The cut marks were still fresh, and looking at the texture of the meat, it was certain that Aunt Huaihua had given her all the remaining bacon.

I finally got a share of the meat during the Chinese New Year, and now I gave her only a small half.
