An hour and a half later, the green jeep stopped at the entrance of Maoer Hutong, which is entirely made up of courtyard houses.
After locking the car door, Lu Ting followed Lu Fengnian and Hua Min, holding the net bag in one hand and Su Yan in the other.
Lu Ting whispered, "Yan Yan, if my grandma gives you something later, just accept it and don't be polite to her!"
Su Yan pursed her lips and smiled, "What will happen if I'm polite?"
"I guess the treasure will soon be in the hands of someone else."
It goes without saying that the person is either Lu Li or Lu Shiwei. She is not a fool who would refuse a good thing and just give it away to others to pretend to be magnanimous.
"I cannot refuse a gift from an elder. I am a person of good character and strict observance of etiquette."
"puff!"
It’s so interesting for the little thing to ask for something.
"Since you like those treasures so much, I will give you all my treasures." Lu Ting looked at Su Yan meaningfully.
As soon as he entered the house, Lu Ting put a bag of nutritional supplements on the table and took Su Yan to meet his grandfather Lu Xiangqian.
"Grandpa, this is my wife, Su Yan. Yanyan, call me grandpa!"
"Hello, Grandpa!"
"Okay, okay, Ting'er really has good taste. The little girl is quite pretty. Come, grandpa will give you a red envelope."
"Yan Yan, hurry up and take it!"
Su Yan smiled and respectfully took the red envelope with both hands, "Thank you, Grandpa."
"You guys go in and see grandma." Lu Fengnian said.
Hua Min stayed with her husband Lu Fengnian, while Lu Ting pulled Su Yan into the room. The room was already full of people, including Lu Li, Lu Shiwei, Lu Ting's two aunts and four little cousins.
Looking at the women in this room, Lu Ting felt a little overwhelmed. He gritted his teeth and pulled Su Yan to Deng Xiu'e.
"Grandma, this is my wife, Yanyan, call her grandma."
Su Yan smiled like a little robot, "Hello, grandma. I wish you a happy birthday. May you be blessed like the long flowing water of the East China Sea and live as long as the evergreen pines of the Southern Mountains."
"Tsk, you flatterer." Lu Li started rolling his eyes in a devilish manner again.
Deng Xiu'e stared at Su Yan with her sharp eyes. Su Yan was not afraid at all. She looked up and smiled at her.
"Grandma, is there something dirty on my face?"
Deng Xiu'e's eyes flashed, and a smile appeared at the corner of her mouth, "Well, good boy."
Su Yan looked at Lu Ting. Where was the baby her grandmother had promised her? Did the gift go away? What a waste of her expression.
"Oh, this girl is pretty."
"Who is this?"
"This is Second Aunt, and the one next to her is Third Aunt."
"Hello, Second Aunt, Hello, Third Aunt."
Regardless of whether there are red envelopes or not, you still have to say hello. Su Yan will never imitate others and put on a cold face just because they are not enthusiastic.
However, Lu Ting's expression gradually turned cold. It seemed that his grandmother didn't like his mother, nor did she like his wife very much. In that case, there was no need for them to stay in the room any longer.
"Yan Yan, let's go out first and see if Jin Yan is here."
"Okay." Su Yan pretended to be obedient and followed Lu Ting.
As soon as Lu Ting and Su Yan left, Lu Li complained, "Grandma, you saw it, my brother's wife looks like a little vixen."
"Okay, stop talking nonsense."
"Mom, our Lu Li is right. Look, Lu Ting is completely bewitched. He even came into the house and was still pulling and tugging, as if he wanted everyone to know that they were in love."
"Aunt, my brother wasn't like this before."
Lu Wen frowned and said, "Cousin, I think my sister-in-law is pretty good. She's pretty and has a nice voice. Why don't you like her?"
"I just don't like her, what's wrong?"
Deng Xiu'e shouted, "Okay, shut up! If you don't have anything to do, go to the kitchen and get busy. Don't keep hanging around me."
Lu Ying smiled and said flatteringly: "Grandma, today is your birthday, so we just want to talk to you."
Lu Jing agreed with a smile, "My sister is right. Today is grandma's birthday, and we just want to be with her. Auntie cooks delicious meals, so let her cook!"
Lu Jing's wishful thinking was wrong. As the eldest daughter-in-law, Hua Min would work hard and take the initiative for her husband and the family in the past. However, today they came to settle accounts, so naturally she would not take the initiative to do housework.
"Okay, don't crowd in the room, go sit outside!"
When everyone came out of the room, Qin Fang, the wife of the second son Lu Fenghua, was dumbfounded when she saw her eldest sister-in-law sitting next to her husband drinking tea.
"Sister-in-law, it's almost eleven o'clock. Shall we go to the kitchen and cook?"
Seeing her mother-in-law frowning, Su Yan immediately turned around and looked at Qin Fang with a smile, "Second Aunt, you really have to work hard today. Lu Li often praises you at home.
She said that you and Third Aunt are great cooks, even better than Auntie. She said Auntie is lucky not to have to cook at home, all because of Cousin Jinyan’s great cooking skills.”
"When did I ever say anything like that?"
"Hey, didn't you say that? Didn't you praise your second and third aunts at home? Are you scolding them?"
Qin Fang and Li Li looked at Lu Li with a confused look on their faces. What on earth was this silly girl talking about at home?
Lu Yingying realized that her eldest cousin's wife was setting a trap for them.
"Cousin, it's grandma's birthday today. The elders should let them sit down and chat. Can we, the younger generation, go to the kitchen?"
Su Yan patted her chest and said, "Okay, it's grandma's birthday and we, as the younger generation, should make her a delicious meal. Leave it to me, no problem."
Then she went to pull her mother-in-law Hua Min's hand and said seriously, "Mom, how many spoonfuls of salt should I put in when cooking? How many spoonfuls of oil should I put in? Is two spoonfuls of salt and five spoonfuls of oil enough? Teach me!"
