Chapter 33 Finding the Ashes

Night fell, and the stars twinkled in the sky.

Ai Xin looked at the clock, which pointed to midnight, and all was quiet.

She got out of bed, still unable to eat or sleep, no matter how much she thought about it.

She had heard of Gu Hongwen's reputation and was afraid that these people would find Ai Zi's ashes.

Ai Xin went out the door and ran very fast, all the way to the woods near the Yang family manor.

They entered the woods and disappeared.

At this moment, the little dumpling also heard the message from Xiaomei.

"Little one, there's movement. Come with me."

Tuantuan jumped from the second floor and landed steadily on the ground.

Ai Xin entered the woods. "Little one, come with me."

Okay.

The little dumpling ran incredibly fast, disappearing in a flash.

With Xiaomei protecting her, the little dumpling got used to the dark night and wasn't scared at all.

After entering the woods, the little dumpling used the moonlight to observe its surroundings.

Just then, she heard footsteps coming towards her.

Tuantuan stopped and looked in the direction from which the footsteps came.

Under the moonlight, Tuantuan could clearly see the figure of the person who had come.

"Brother Jinghuai".

The adorable little voice stood in stark contrast to the eerie night.

"round and round?"

Gu Jinghuai's tone was full of surprise; he never expected to run into Tuantuan here.

He could predict other things, but he couldn't predict Tuantuan's life trajectory.

What is the background of this child?

Gu Jinghuai quickened his pace and came to Tuantuan's side.

With his third eye activated, he could see Xiao Mei's existence. His deep gaze swept over Xiao Mei, making her ghost tremble.

Fortunately, Gu Jinghuai's attention quickly fell on Tuantuan, and Xiaomei immediately crawled into the pendant.

Out of sight, out of mind.

"Brother Jinghuai, did you know that my aunt went into the woods?"

Gu Jinghuai didn't hide anything; Bai would come to see Tuantuan later, so he came.

Tuan Tuan wasn't in the room, so he figured out Ai Xin's movements and immediately rushed to the woods.

Sure enough, the little dumpling was indeed here.

Gu Jinghuai squatted down: "Tuantuan, I'll carry you on my back, come with me."

"Thank you, Brother Jinghuai, but Tuantuan can walk by herself."

The little dumpling's voice was still so soft and cute. She took a step and moved very fast, even Gu Jinghuai couldn't keep up.

This child... does she have two wheels of fire on her feet?

Tuantuan ran ahead, with Gu Jinghuai chasing behind.

After chasing each other for an unknown amount of time, the two of them stopped at the same time.

The two hid behind the bushes, watching Ai Xin perform a ritual not far away.

A soul shrouded in black mist flew out of the darkness and drifted towards Ai Xin, giving her a box from afar.

Upon seeing this, Xiao Mei immediately urged Tuan Tuan to hurry up.

Ashes!

Xiao Mei flew over at top speed and snatched the ashes.

Ai Xin: "!!"

Xiao Mei caught her off guard; Ai Xin never expected there were other people around.

What the heck?

So fast?

Gu Jinghuai took the urn and placed it in Tuantuan's hands.

Tuantuan's eyes immediately welled up with tears: "It's Mommy..."

Even the milk dumpling herself can tell; there's no mistake.

At this moment, Ai Xin realized that her identity had been exposed. She put on a mask, summoned a ghost, and decided to take back the ashes!

The released ghost flew towards Gu Jinghuai, Tuantuan, and Xiaomei.

Xiao Mei casually tossed out the ugly ghost.

Ugly Ghost: "!!"

Why did you release me? I'm so weak, I can't beat them!

Xiao Mei was speechless.

I've never seen anyone more useless than you.

Xiao Mei's figure appeared both eerie and alluring in the darkness.

A ghostly figure, its body shrouded in eerie energy, flew over, and Gu Jinghuai emerged from behind the bushes.

Before leaving, I told the little dumpling, "Tuantuan, you stay here and don't go out."

Before Tuantuan could speak, Gu Jinghuai had already stepped forward.

Ai Xin didn't expect to meet Gu Jinghuai here. Gu Hongwen didn't come, but sent this little brat instead.

Oh!

That's not enough for her to beat!

Ai Xin's ghost clung to Gu Jinghuai and Xiao Mei. The ghost Ai Xin had raised was powerful; it had already quietly flown out of its house and set its sights on the little dumpling hiding behind the bushes.

Tuantuan felt a chill run down her spine, and a cold voice came from behind her.

[Such a tender baby must taste amazing.]

Tuan Tuan turned around, looked at the ghost in the darkness, and said calmly, "You're so ugly, you must have done something bad. Disobedient ghost, you're going to get a spanking."

The ghost was surprised that the child wasn't afraid of it.

This ghost is indeed very ugly, so ugly that it outrages both gods and men.

[Dare to call me ugly? I'll eat you alive!]

In a fit of rage, the ghost enveloped Tuantuan with black energy. Just then, Gu Jinghuai noticed the situation and flew rapidly toward the little dumpling.

Ai Xin tried to hurt Gu Jinghuai, but was injured in the hand by the talisman he threw out.

Ai Xin's hand had two holes burned in it, and black smoke kept coming out of them, as if something had been charred.

ah!

Ai Xin let out a scream and quickly fled the scene.

Gu Jinghuai ran towards Tuantuan, shouting loudly, "Tuantuan!"

Just then, the ghost who had intended to harm Tuantuan, confident that it could eat the child, also let out a ghostly scream.

What exactly are you?!

The ghostly thing retreated in fright, as if Tuantuan were a little tyrant who ate ghosts.

The little dumpling stood still, completely unharmed.
