Xiao Yuanzi shook his head and said, "No need to come back!"
She felt a little regretful and wanted to take the two Xiangxiangs with her, just like the three Xiangxiangs who were by her side now.
Wu Zhaoqing breathed a sigh of relief. That was good. He didn't want two more fathers to compete with him.
Three men surrounded a little girl, cleaning up the dirt on her body. They talked to her while they were busy.
This time when Xiao Yuanzi came back after eating, the three of them found that Xiao Yuanzi spoke much more fluently than before and knew more words.
They wrote one thing down in their mental manual for raising little Yuanzi: eating more will make the little Yuanzi grow faster.
After cleaning up Xiao Yuanzi, Li Wenbin and the others wanted to leave.
Before I got in the car and left, I saw a small group of people walking out of Y City and heading towards the military vehicle parked on the side of the road.
But these people looked a little strange, and Li Wenbin looked at them for a long time before he realized what was strange.
Wu Zhaoqing, "Why aren't there any soldiers here? Are they all dead?"
Liao Hongxuan said, "Impossible. What kind of danger do you think these unarmed ordinary people would encounter to make these professionally trained soldiers unable to come out?"
Li Wenbin and Wu Zhaoqing were not on good terms. "Brother Liao is right. Can you use your brain before you speak? Don't be a fool! Xiao Yuanzi won't like it!"
Wu Zhaoqing retorted, "That's better than you being brainless and powerless!"
Li Wenbin was about to retort when Xiao Yuanzi suddenly interrupted them, "Xiangxiang is not here!"
Li Wenbin was curious, "What Xiangxiang? Are you talking about the two people with you?"
Xiao Yuanzi nodded vigorously, "Xiangxiang is not here, but Xiangxiang is here!"
She smelled the lingering fragrance of the two Xiangxiang from the people who came out, but she looked for a long time and couldn't see where the two Xiangxiang were.
Even the green ones who were with the two Xiangxiangs were not seen.
Wu Zhaoqing folded his arms and scoffed disdainfully, "What's so unclear about this? It's just that someone was injured, and these people were afraid that the injured would turn into zombies, so they abandoned them."
Li Wenbin instinctively retorted to Wu Zhaoqing, "Can you please stop thinking of people as such a bad person?"
Liao Hongxuan looked towards Y City and saw several soldiers in camouflage uniforms stopped in the distance, watching the people getting on the bus.
Of course Li Wenbin also saw it. He agreed with Wu Zhaoqing's words in his heart, but he simply wanted to go against him.
Xiao Yuanzi was a little worried. When she was looking from the top of the shopping mall, she saw that these people and those Xiangxiangs were together, but now these people came out, but the two Xiangxiangs did not come out.
"Yuanyuan, go take a look!"
Xiao Yuanzi didn't ask them to wait, and the thick fog in Y City had dissipated, so Liao Hongxuan and the other two followed.
Xiao Yuanzi moved forward quickly with the white cat in her arms, following the scent to find the two sweet-smelling humans that made her worried.
Xiao Yuanzi ran so fast that Liao Hongxuan and the others disappeared in the blink of an eye. They only encountered a few soldiers in camouflage uniforms outside Y City.
These soldiers were covered in wounds of varying degrees. Seeing Liao Hongxuan and the other two coming in, they were very wary, but they still kindly advised, "It's very dangerous here, leave quickly!"
Li Wenbin maintained respect for these people's soldiers. "Since it's so dangerous, why don't you leave?"
Especially when he saw the protected people outside leaving alone while these soldiers were still holding on in the city, Li Wenbin felt very uncomfortable.
One of the five soldiers gave a bitter laugh and said, "It's not that we don't want to leave, it's that we can't. Someone in our team is injured, so we can't leave for the time being."
Wu Zhaoqing pointed outside and said, "Those people have all left. Why can't you leave? I'd say you're just stupid. Why do you care about their lives? Do you think any of them have accepted your kindness?"
The soldier said seriously, "We are soldiers, soldiers who defend our country. Protecting the people is our mission and our duty!"
"No matter what they do, we have to do what we should do! If every soldier quits because they don't get any rewards, this country will be doomed sooner or later!"
Another soldier said, "Everyone is afraid, so it's natural for them to leave. Those injured by zombies have a high chance of being infected. Leaving earlier or later makes no difference. If we leave together, someone will mutate and more people will be injured."
This is the difference between soldiers and mercenaries. Mercenaries are in a bloody business, where profits are paramount and everything they do is for themselves.
Soldiers are selfless and serve the country and the people. They have long put their own lives and safety aside, putting the interests of the whole society above their own.
Wu Zhaoqing said sarcastically, "You guys are really great! Those guys looted everything from several cars before leaving. They even drained the gas tanks. Are you sure you can still get back?"
Through all these actions, those people have tacitly accepted that these soldiers cannot go back, or that whether they can go back or not has nothing to do with them.
Wu Zhaoqing's words made the soldiers silent for a moment. No one said anything else. There was no point in saying anything more. They were soldiers. Protecting the people was their mission and their duty. They protected the people without expecting anything in return.
Li Wenbin glared at him, "Just keep quiet! No one is asking you to be mute if you don't speak! Some people are ungrateful, and naturally there are people who are grateful and repay the kindness!"
Li Wenbin's words helped the soldiers recover from their depressed state. Yes, it's not that no one sees their efforts!
