Chapter 117: Necromancer

Chapter 117-116- Necromancer

The rain was still falling, washing the bloodstains on the ground into the drainage ditch. The old communities on both sides of the main road stood alone in the dark night, without a sound. It seemed that all the residents of the town were immersed in the white noise of the rainy night, enjoying an undisturbed sleep.

Zero, barefoot, stepped on the slippery lampshade, causing her mutants to gather together. She yawned and waved her hand, and soon, a giant worm broke out of the ground and swallowed all the mutants in one gulp, turning them into nutrients for its own evolution.

Suddenly, a voice rang out from a rooftop not far away. It was a hoarse male voice. He chuckled and said, "As expected, you are what Black Tower Pharmaceuticals is eager to get. Little girl, you are indeed very special."

Zero paused in her yawning, replaced by a smile that crept back onto her face. She mechanically turned her head, jerking in the direction of the sound, the corners of her mouth slowly twisting upwards, emitting the purest, most chilling malice.

"I don't want to be your enemy, little girl. I come here to represent the goodwill of the sect." The person who spoke came into Zero's sight. It was not a living person, but a skeleton with green ghost fire burning in its eye sockets.

On this rainy night, only creatures of this form could be as weird as the silver-haired little girl on the street lamp.

"You are holding a secret that is crucial to the Black Tower, and we can offer you shelter. I think this is a good deal," the skeleton said with a smile. "Little girl, it will be hard to find an organization like ours in this world that can help you confront the super corporation head-on."

Zero still didn't speak. Her eyes opened a little wider, and the malice in her dark red pupils became more and more obvious. At the same time, in the houses around the main road, behind the windows that should have belonged to the town residents, eye-catching red lights suddenly lit up, and countless strange shapes twisted in the darkness, like demons crawling out of hell.

"You actually turned everyone in this town into monsters? You lunatic! God damn monster!" The skeleton's tone changed, with a bit of extreme anger.

Obviously, even the necromancer of the Holy Spirit Sect, the world's number one cult, was shocked at this moment by Zero's lack of moral bottom line and wanton killing of innocent people.

He even doubted whether Zero had any sense of identity as a human being, otherwise how could he attack innocent civilians so without empathy?

And these are not ordinary civilians, they are precious believers of the sect!

Zero looked at him with a grin, and the next second, countless hideous humanoid deformities crawled out of the house and headed straight for the skeleton on the roof.

The skeleton snorted coldly, knowing that there was no room for negotiation. He wasn't even sure if Zero could communicate normally with humans. He blasted forward a wave of soul fire, capable of directly burning the spirit. Under this soul-level attack, a large number of aberrations fell to the ground, leaving only a pile of rotten flesh.

He then extracted a section of spine from a deformed corpse on the ground and, after a simple spell, melted it and transformed it into a bone knife. Although his original form hadn't arrived at the scene, he believed that the strength of this remotely controlled elite skeleton warrior was more than enough to forcibly capture the little girl.

But soon, his confidence was shattered because he saw Zero suddenly look at him.

It was with this glance, filled with strong mockery, that the dark green soul fire in the skull's eye sockets suddenly went out. As if it had lost all support, it fell to the ground and turned into a pile of bone parts. At the same time, in the darkness outside Shalin Town, a figure in a black robe suddenly screamed, knelt on the ground, and gasped horrifiedly.

"Soul magic? How did she get it?" the necromancer whispered in shock. Beneath his muddy hood, his eyes gazed toward Shalin Town with uncertainty, his expression utterly solemn. Without hesitation, he endured the excruciating pain and, empowered by wind magic, ascended into the air, quickly disappearing into the rainy wilderness.

On the lamppost of the main road, looking at the skeletons scattered into a pile in the puddle, the smile on Zero's face faded a little, and he glanced coldly at the deformed creatures on the ground.

Under her gaze, these twisted creatures began to recover little by little, revealing their human form. However, compared with the townspeople before, the eyes of these recovered people were obviously dull, like zombies still adapting to their bodies.

After they slowly returned home in a sleepwalking manner, Zero's face showed an even more intense tiredness than before, and he yawned deeply.

Neon light pollution dyed the entire sky into bizarre purple, pink and blue colors. Raindrops hit the dazzlingly bright signboards at an angle, reflecting a blurry halo.

It was only late at night when Yvette rode her bike through the city streets and returned to her villa on Yangon Street.

After parking the car, she immediately merged into the narrow alleys of the adjacent streets and came to the Red Hot Chili Peppers nightclub, which was only four blocks away from her home. It was also the main and most frequented business of "Fire Ghost" Colby in the city.

Being in Rusty Bone, she suspected that the enemy who would hire a killer to cause trouble for her was most likely the Ghost Hand Gang. Due to the destruction of two human trafficking industrial parks, the two sides also had real grudges.

So while her target, "Fire Ghost" Colby, was returning from Silver Mirror Continent, she planned to seize the opportunity, raid the place directly, and force him to give her the information she wanted.

Of course, normally this would be a bit troublesome.

After all, the Red Chili Pepper nightclub is in the city, not far from the Soul Fire Church. The necromancers of the Holy Spirit Sect, the special police of the Police Headquarters, and even the military from the border may come to support at any time. If the matter gets out of hand and attracts attention from many parties, it will not be a good thing for her.

But now with the light and shadow magic "Shadow Escape", the situation is different. Yvette can blend into the shadows silently like the silver killer Deadshot, pass most of the guards, come to the target, and even escape after killing someone.

Ten minutes later, Yvette entered the top floor of the nightclub through the shadow of the outer wall. The air in the corridor was filled with the smell of alcohol, perfume and cigars, which made her frown slightly.

As an important industry of the gang, the internal structure of "Red Hot Chili Pepper" is a local area network. It is impossible to hack into it from the outside to obtain information. The only way is to break in physically or check each room one by one to find Colby's location.

After using Shadow Meld to dodge several gangster guards, they arrived outside a large room and Yvette heard conversation coming from inside.

She listened for a while and found that there seemed to be quite a few people inside, and they spoke with a strong local accent, which made her translation program unable to understand.

She glanced at the nameplate of the room and confirmed that it was the chairman's office, then kicked the door open and walked in.

The huge door panel with metal trim opened to the left and right, hitting the wall heavily with a dull thud.

Under the glaring ceiling light in the room, the movements of nine people froze in an instant. Most of them were sitting on both sides of an expensive mahogany long table, at the end of which was a fat middle-aged man, who was the "Fire Ghost" Colby.

"Fuck! Who?!"

Suddenly someone kicked the door open, Colby cried out in surprise, and the rest of his men drew their guns and pointed them at the sudden intruder.

But after seeing the silver-haired girl's face clearly, the gangsters' expressions became strange - except for Colby, no one else knew the origin of this silver-haired girl. They just looked at her beautiful face and delicate figure, wondering if this was an entertainment program arranged by the boss, and their mood suddenly relaxed a lot.

Colby's face suddenly turned extremely pale.

He clearly remembered that tonight was the day when the Neon Nightmare killer he hired would take action. Although he was not a gold medal killer, he was also a super master in the killer world. How could he allow the target to appear here safely?

Did he misremember the time? Was the Silver Killer's operation not tonight? Or... had the Neon Nightmare's killer failed?

No... Impossible... Maybe the killer hasn't made his move yet... And even if he fails, the employer's information is confidential, so Wuming can't possibly find fault with him...

Colby's mind raced, and he reacted quickly. He first winked at his men, then looked at the silver-haired girl in front of him and said in a dazed tone, "Miss... uh... Miss? Excuse me, why are you barging into our place so late at night? Is there something wrong?"

The eight gangsters looked at each other in confusion, but still put away their guns.

Yvette had no interest in playing games with Colby's pretense. She got straight to the point and asked, "How do we find the 'General'?"

"Ah?" Colby was stunned for a moment, suspecting that he had heard it wrong.

"Answer me, how do we find the 'General'?" Yvette repeated, looking at him expressionlessly. "I'll only give you ten seconds."

The air in the room suddenly became quiet. Except for Colby, whose face was gloomy, the other eight gangsters all had strange expressions on their faces. They looked at Yvette as if she were a fool.

They suspected that this little girl was a fool who came from nowhere. Otherwise, how could she think of asking the local tyrant "Fire Ghost" Colby of Fos River for the location information of "General", the mastermind behind the entire western border of Rust Bone?

Is she trying to kill herself?

But what the eight gangsters could not have imagined was that within less than four or five seconds of the ten seconds, Colby hurriedly said, "I'll tell you! I'll tell you! Please be patient..."

The eight gangsters turned their heads and looked at the boss in disbelief, and they all began to wonder if there was something wrong with their ears.
