Chapter 139:138 Rand and the Silver Witch

Chapter 139-138- Lant and the Silver Witch

Unlike the auroras I had seen on Ish Island before, this time the aurora appeared at the end of the distant coastline. It was as dim as an old-fashioned tungsten filament lamp with poor contact, flickering and seeming to disappear in the next second.

Although Yvette rode the wind and rushed over immediately, it took her dozens of minutes to reach the sea area. Unfortunately, when she was still halfway there, the aurora dissipated on its own, revealing the silver moon and the even brighter galaxy on the sky.

But she didn't feel any regret. After all, she wasn't ready to step into another world at ease at the moment. She came all the way here mainly to see if there were any travelers from another world so that she could rescue them, so as to avoid falling into the sea as soon as she landed and being eaten by the deformed monsters.

The cold moonlight splashed on the sea. Using the effect of water magic, Yvette landed on the sea without a single drop of water getting her skirt wet.

She walked and looked around, but found nothing. There was only the sea reflecting the stardust in the sky, which continued to stretch to the end of her sight.

She walked for a few more minutes, and suddenly, a floating black shadow a few hundred meters away caught her attention. When she got closer, the scene that came into her eyes made her slightly startled.

This is a scarred boy.

Deep red blood stained his clothes, which were riddled with rips, revealing deep wounds beneath that revealed the bone. Even more astonishing was that his skin was an unnatural lavender, and dark tattoo-like lines adorned his forehead, completely different from the humans Yvette knew.

In an instant, the name of a race flashed through her mind.

——The demon tribe.

She remembered that among the otherworldly pan-human races Dugrabi had introduced her to, only the demons from the Demon Abyss Continent possessed such striking lavender skin and dark demonic markings. While they were also pan-human, they were also part of the demon race, worshipping the Demon King as their supreme leader and maintaining a hostile relationship with the pan-human alliance of the Eastern Continent.

How should I put it? If a human from another world saw a seriously injured demon boy floating on the sea, he would probably kill him immediately to prevent future troubles.

But Yvette was not a human from another world after all, so after a brief surprise, she immediately used wind magic to lift up the seriously injured and unconscious demon boy and decided to take him back to the manor for treatment. By the way, she could also ask him about what the situation in the other world had become after a hundred years, and whether she could get some information about Rosaline and Dougrabi.

Under the dim night, flames licked the crumbling beams, and the strong smell of blood mixed with the pungent smell of burning filled the nose. In the ears were shrill wails and, even more piercing, the devil's sinister grin.

Father, mother, sister... one familiar figure after another fell in the splatter of blood, and the executioner who committed this massacre was an abyss demon as tall as a mountain, with curved horns on his head and tattered flesh wings on his back.

He cowered in the shadow of the corner, his teeth chattering with fear. Suddenly, a hideous face covered with pus-filled boils poked its head out from under the table where he was hiding, and laughed wildly, "I found you, little bug!"

"ah--!!!"

Lant screamed, sitting up in bed, his clothes drenched in sweat. But what immediately struck him was that instead of the hometown he remembered, ablaze with flames and corpses strewn everywhere, he found a surprisingly clean, tidy, and warm log-style room. The soft quilt slid down around his waist, revealing a comfortable bed beneath him, so soft it made him wonder if this was just a dream.

He pinched his cheek hard, and the pain dispelled his trance and made him wake up.

Then, he threw off the quilt and jumped out of bed, only to find himself wrapped in an unfamiliar white robe, with his original clothes still on. He breathed a sigh of relief, but then he noticed that the tattered clothes, along with his body, had become much cleaner, as if someone had wiped the blood off his body with a wet towel while he was unconscious.

What surprised him even more was that he found that all his injuries had healed! Not even a scar was left on his skin, as if those wounds had never appeared!

What...is going on?

Was he saved by someone? But what kind of existence could heal his wounds so quickly, without even leaving a trace?

Lant was shocked and thought for a while. Instead of opening the door rashly, he walked cautiously to the window and looked outside.

Outside the window, heavy snow was falling silently, dyeing the sky and the earth into a vast expanse of pure white.

His heart shuddered, and he suddenly remembered that in his memory, the season on the mainland should be early autumn. Moreover, his hometown was located in the central and southern part of the mainland, with a warm climate. Even in winter, it was rare to see snow, let alone such a heavy blizzard.

Where is this? The north of the continent?

Thinking of this, he began to recall the last few minutes before he fell into a coma. Then he remembered that after escaping, he wandered in the wilderness for a day and was so hungry that his chest was sticking to his back. Then he saw the aurora in the sky and the abyss in front of him. He had no choice but to rush in.

so……

Did you succeed?

Came to that legendary mythical place?

But if it really is that place, shouldn't the scene before our eyes be even more barren and dilapidated than the Demon Abyss Continent? Why is it not like that, but even a bit picturesque?

Suppressing the confusion and bewilderment in his heart, Lant walked to the door of the room, tiptoed to push it open, and saw a spacious living room at the end of the corridor. The firewood in the fireplace crackled, and the jumping flames dispelled the chill of the winter night, making the entire interior space warm.

The living room was empty. Lant hesitated for a moment, but finally mustered up the courage to walk to the entrance door of the house and pushed it open. Soon, a cold wind like a knife rushed into the room, making him subconsciously take two steps back and get goose bumps all over his body.

But before he could be surprised by the severe cold here, suddenly, an even more horrifying scene appeared.

Several pale skeletons walked with stiff steps through the snow, entered the manor, and left after a brief inspection, as if they were carrying out some rigid instructions.

One of the skeletons, with a faint green soul fire flickering in its eye sockets, swept its empty gaze across the doorway where he was standing, but showed no reaction. It was unclear whether it didn't see him or wasn't interested.

Lant gasped in fear and slammed the door shut. He didn't know why the undead creatures didn't attack him, but he was sure that at this moment, he had no choice but to stay in this beautiful house.

Sighing, Lant was about to investigate the room again when suddenly, a slight sound of footsteps came from upstairs.

He subconsciously turned around and saw a beautiful girl with long silver hair walking down the stairs calmly.

Judging from her appearance, the other person is about fifteen or sixteen years old, and Lant only looks like a boy of twelve or thirteen because of his tall figure. His actual age is less than nine years old, so it is natural for him to call her sister.

But after being stunned for a few seconds, Lant's expression suddenly changed, and he fell to his knees with a plop.

This sudden action left Yvette at a loss. She blinked, wondering if this was a thank you for saving her life? But wasn't it a bit too intense?

"What are you kneeling for?" she decided to ask directly.

"Are you...are you the witch lady?" The young man raised his head and asked a completely irrelevant question with a trembling voice.

"I am indeed a witch." Yvette frowned slightly, "But if you mean the 'Witch of the End', then I am not."

"No! Not the Witch of the End!" The young man's voice suddenly rose, hoarse with excitement. "I want to ask, are you the 'Silver Witch'?"

"Silver Witch?" Yvette was a little confused.

"Yes..." The demon boy's eyes shone brightly as he explained incoherently, "The teacher of the previous Demon King, the hidden deity of the End Land, the 'Silver Witch'! She's a girl with silver hair and red eyes. Most importantly, I... I've seen your statue and I'm also your believer!"

Yvette was even more confused. What was going on? She had never been to another world, so how could there be statues and believers?

Do you want to be more outrageous?
