Yang Dasheng suddenly shuddered for no apparent reason!
I got goosebumps all over.
He flipped over and rode off as if fleeing. Yao Qingqing stomped her foot, thinking, "I've made it so obvious, can't this man see it?"
Yang Dasheng walked a long way, still feeling uneasy. He had heard his third brother say that this should be his aunt's daughter.

The two returned to their own homes.
Huo Junshan looked at the ceiling of his house and saw that there were already some cobwebs.
"Yanyan, go to the bedroom first, I'll sweep up the cobwebs in the room."
After saying that, he picked up a broom, found a bamboo pole, and fixed it to the broom with a rope.
Then he started cleaning, and it took Huo Junshan about half an hour to clean the house.
Then he mopped the whole house again.
Yanyan told him about the mop, and then he tore his own tattered clothes into strips.
It works very well, though.
He mopped the two bedrooms in the main room, and then the kitchen. After mopping the kitchen, he decided that the other rooms were mostly unused and filled with miscellaneous tools and such, so he didn't need to mop them.
Then he wiped down all the furniture in the room before nodding in satisfaction.
He went straight into the space to wash his hair and hands; there was dirt on his head.
When I came out, my hair was already dry.
He emerged from the space and appeared directly in the bedroom, which surprised Yun Ningyan at all.
Huo Junshan sat on the kang (a heated brick bed), pressed her head down, and kissed her.
Yun Ningyan rolled her eyes: "Huo Junshan! Are you never satisfied? You're always trying to take advantage of me?"
Huo Junshan said aggrievedly, "Wife, I can't resist kissing you whenever I see you."
Yun Ningyan glared at him and asked in an annoyed tone, "Huo Junshan, how's your essay coming along?"
Huo Junshan immediately deflated: "I've improved a little, but I still probably won't pass!"
Huo Junshan then took out his essay and showed it to Yun Ningyan.
Yun Ningyan opened the notebook to the first page, where the essay was utterly worthless.
She continued flipping through the pages, finding the writing improving with each page, and eventually it became quite good.
She put down her notebook, trying to remain serious: "Huo Junshan, your writing is alright, but you still need to keep working hard! Next year you'll focus on Chinese, you don't need to look at math, physics, or chemistry, just make sure you don't forget them!"
Huo Junshan nodded: "Okay! I'll listen to my wife!"
The two joked around inside for a while before heading to the front for dinner.
As soon as the two entered the courtyard, Yao Qingqing came out of the house and asked Huo Junshan with a smile, "Third Brother, where is that man from this morning from?"
Huo Junshan frowned. He didn't want to talk to her and pulled Yun Ningyan to his mother's room.
Yao Qingqing pouted from behind, muttering, "What's there to be so proud of? I could tell who he is even without you asking!"
Yao Qingqing went back to her room in anger.
Yao Tingting looked at her from inside the room: "What, didn't your third brother tell you? I advise you to give up on that person. He doesn't even look at you."
Yao Qingqing glared at her fiercely: "What do you know? You look down on me? I talked to him today, and he even responded to me. Otherwise, would he have paid any attention to me?"
Yao Tingting was speechless: "Don't you think about it? The person who's with Third Brother, would they even look at you?"
"If your third brother says a few bad things about you in front of him, do you think you'll still have a chance?"
"They'd love to kick us out right now."
Yao Qingqing lowered her head in thought. She felt that Tingting was right. Given how much her third brother and Yun Ningyan disliked her, she probably had no chance.
Li Xiangyun made hot and sour soup for dinner, and served it with a flatbread made from two kinds of flour.
I already had dumplings for lunch, so I won't have dumplings for dinner.
The hot and sour soup she made contained many side dishes: pork, pickled cabbage, cabbage, radish, potato, glass noodles, and daylily buds, all of which were vegetables she grew herself in her private plot.
Hot and sour soup with flatbread is very comforting to eat.
The hot and sour soup was also delicious. Yun Ningyan ate one and a half bowls and half a pancake.
Li Xiangyun asked her with a smile, "Ningning, is it delicious?"
Yun Ningyan nodded repeatedly: "Delicious, sour and spicy, very tasty!"
Huo Junshan secretly noted down the side dishes his mother had prepared, planning to cook them for her when he got home. He figured the food would taste even better since they had more side dishes at home.
The two ate their meal and left without lingering.
The Spring Festival in this era has absolutely no festive atmosphere.
Firecrackers weren't allowed, but things were the same as usual, except that every household could smell the aroma of meat.
In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, neither Huo Changlan and her daughter, nor Meng Zhenzhen and Song Pandi, caused any trouble.
