Chapter 65 is all about gold and jade jewelry.

She excitedly rushed over and opened all the bags, almost screaming in surprise. The bags were full of jewelry, gold, and jade.

The other bags contained antique paintings, calligraphy, vases, and the like—each item would be priceless in later generations.

"Huo Junshan, are there any more on the mountain? Shall we dig them all out?"

Huo Junshan shook his head. "That's all I found. I've dug it all out."

Yun Ningyan was a little disappointed. She had thought there would be more, but there was only this much?

Huo Junshan laughed and said, "If you like them, I'll have Yang Dasheng buy some back. These things are really hot commodities right now. By the way, I'll take you to the commune tomorrow. There's an old man there who collects old furniture. If you like it, we can buy it all."

Yun Ningyan nodded and took out a roasted chicken, rice, and vegetables from her spatial storage for him. "Eat quickly."

While eating, Huo Junshan said, "Yanyan, I've already asked Yang Dasheng to deliver the tiles and glass for the house behind, as well as cement. When I come back from the commune tomorrow, I'll work with my older brother and the others to try and get you a place to live before winter. It's too cold here, and there are too many people around."

the next day.

Huo Junshan took Yun Ningyan to the commune. These past two days, the brigade leader hadn't let the old ox pull the cart because he felt sorry for it. Huo Junshan borrowed the brigade leader's bicycle and took Yun Ningyan to the commune.

The villagers were all busy preparing for winter, and no one noticed the two of them.

Huo Junshan led her straight to a dilapidated house. He parked his bicycle and knocked on the door.

A short while later, an old man came out and opened the door, trembling. "Who are you looking for?"

Huo Junshan calmly said, "Grandpa, we've come to look at the furniture. Aren't you a furniture seller?"

The old man welcomed the two into the house, where newly made furniture, all in natural wood color, was placed. Huo Junshan shook his head.

"Grandpa, I don't like any of these. I'd like to see the items you've put away. I'd like to buy some of them."

Upon hearing this, the old man immediately raised his hand to shoo the two away, saying, "You can leave now. If you don't like anything, don't buy it. I don't have anything else here!"

Huo Junshan stopped and said seriously, "Grandpa, I've inquired about it. That person told me to come here to find you..."

Upon hearing this, the old man led the two to the innermost room. He walked to a large vat, reached into it, and the vat creaked and turned, revealing a hole.

Yun Ningyan was very curious and wanted to find out what was going on. Huo Junshan pulled her to the cave entrance.

He took a quick step and jumped down.

The old man said to Yun Ningyan from upstairs, "You can go down too. Take whatever you want with you."

Yun Ningyan also jumped down. Inside, there was a hidden world. The entire basement was filled with all sorts of old objects, furniture made of precious wood, and everything else.

Yun Ningyan's eyes lit up with an alarming gleam as she looked at these things.

She nodded to Huo Junshan. "I want to buy them all. Can you ask him if he'll sell them?"

The two went up together, and Huo Junshan asked the old man, "Old man, how much do you want for these things?"

The old man sighed, "This thing isn't worth much now. It's a hot potato to keep. If you don't want to buy it now, then leave!"

Yun Ningyan said, "Grandpa, I really like these things. Name your price, and I'll buy them all."

The old man looked at Yun Ningyan in shock. "Buy them all?"

That's a lot of stuff!

He figured these things were bound to cause trouble sooner or later, and he was getting old himself, so he said, "Give me a thousand dollars and take them all! Just don't betray me if anything happens!"

Yun Ningyan promptly gave him a thousand yuan, and then said to the old man, "Grandpa, I'll go down and take another look."

Yun Ningyan went down to check again and found nothing wrong. With a wave of her hand, everything disappeared.

She wasn't afraid the old man would tell anyone; selling these things was illegal in this era. Her supernatural abilities were beyond the comprehension of others, which was why she dared to use them so boldly.

She packed her things and came out casually, saying, "Grandpa, I'll come back to pick them up in a few days."

The old man nodded.

The two exchanged a glance, then turned and left.

After they left, the old man straightened the water vat and didn't notice anything was missing.

Huo Junshan took her to the new house and went to return the bicycle. Yun Ningyan went inside and looked around. Several of Huo's brothers were already working.

The windows have been replaced with new ones, and several people are mixing cement, preparing to lay cement floors inside the house as well.

The group worked together quickly, and even the brigade leader's two sons came to help.

Li Xiangyun was also tidying up the kitchen. The stove had collapsed, and she was preparing to build a new one.

Seeing her come in, Li Xiangyun quickly shooed her out, saying, "Oh dear, this place is all dusty. Go out quickly, don't get your clothes dirty."

Yun Ningyan smiled and said, "It's nothing, I just came to check on you. Don't tire yourself out, there's no rush."

Li Xiangyun smiled as she washed her hands in the basin. "I'm not tired. We're used to working every day. Didn't Lao San come back with you? He said he had to cook in the kitchen himself. Why didn't he come back?"

"He went to return the car, he'll be back in a bit."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Huo Junshan entered through the main gate. He looked at the gate and felt that it needed to be replaced, as it was a bit dilapidated.

He found a stool, wiped off the dust, and had Yun Ningyan sit and watch while he started building the kitchen.

He built two pots, parallel to the back wall, leaving enough space in front of the pots, and enclosing the area for burning firewood and storing firewood behind them to prevent it from getting everywhere.

Huo Junshan finished the basic styling, and Huo Changgen assisted him. Yun Ningyan would peek inside from time to time; she had no idea when these things had been delivered.

Such a grand display, the entire Huo family is here.

The brigade leader strolled over slowly, puffing on his pipe. The floor inside the room was only half-paved. It wasn't that they were slow; the floor could be part of the entire brigade's work.

They lacked experience, and Huo Junshan had specifically instructed them to make sure the surface was smooth and free of any sharp edges, so they dared not be careless.

The captain nodded, a little envious. The house was quite nice once it was cleaned up; that was true.

Yun Ningyan was about to get up and move a stool for the brigade leader, but the brigade leader waved his hand and said, "No need, girl, you sit there, I'll just take a look."

She was very bored by herself, looking around here and there.

She went to the kitchen and asked, "Is Huo Junshan's yard also paved with cement?"

Huo Junshan nodded. "It's cleaner this way. The original brick floor is no longer good. There are broken bricks everywhere, and some of them leak water when it rains."

Yun Ningyan nodded. "Then you should leave the places where I plant vegetables and flowers. Don't just pave them all with cement. It would be a shame not to plant something in such a big space!"

Li Xiangyun agreed, saying, "Yes, I'll plant those radish and cabbage seeds later."
