Huo Junshan was pulled to drink, and they wouldn't let him go inside.
He was worried that Yun Ningyan was hungry, so he called Huo Min, his uncle's daughter, who was already on holiday.
"Huo Min, go and take some food to your third sister-in-law, don't let her go hungry. Tell her I'll be there to keep her company in a bit."
Huo Min happily took a bowl, filled it with some food from the table, and carried it into the house.
When she arrived at the house, her third sister-in-law and a girl were eating happily. She put down the things and said, "Sister-in-law, this is what my third brother asked me to bring to you. He said he'll come over and keep you company later."
Yun Ningyan asked her, "Are you Huo Min?"
The girl, who was in her teens, nodded.
Lin Mengmeng smiled and said, "You must be the captain's daughter, she's really pretty!"
Lin Mengmeng pulled her to sit down, saying, "Come and eat with us, we can't finish it all."
Huo Min was very shy and didn't talk much.
Yun Ningyan asked her, "Did you graduate from junior high school?"
Huo Min nodded. "I just graduated and I'm not planning to go back to high school. It's pointless anyway!"
Yun Ningyan shook her head. "How is it useless? Having a degree is still useful. Many good jobs require a high school diploma. I'm even planning to get a high school diploma!"
Yun Ningyan continued to persuade her, "What if you can go to university in a few years and you don't have a high school diploma? Wouldn't that be a bad thing? Your parents don't expect you to work and eat, and you're too young to get married. It's best to continue your studies!"
Huo Min nodded.
She was young, only about fourteen or fifteen years old, and there were some things she couldn't understand on her own, and no one in her family told her about them.
Yun Ningyan quite liked this little girl; she was gentle and quiet, and didn't dare to raise her voice.
