Chapter 50 I didn't sleep a wink all night

Yun Ningyan thought for a moment and then said, "Let's meet by the river in the back in an hour."

The two nodded, and Yun Ningyan left the black market on her own. She still needed to go to the river to get the grain.

When she arrived at the river, there was no one around. She controlled the flour and rice in her space to come out. These rice and flour did not have any brand labels, which suited her taste perfectly.

There were a total of twenty bags of flour, each weighing 100 jin (50 kg), and ten bags of rice, each weighing 50 jin (25 kg).

When Huo Junshan and Yang Dasheng arrived, they were carrying a scale for weighing.

She nodded to herself; he was quite shrewd, even knowing to use a scale to weigh it.

Huo Junshan felt a twitch at the corner of his mouth as he heard her voice. They weren't stupid; they knew they had to be weighed to avoid being cheated.

Yang Dasheng opened the bag and looked inside to make sure it contained refined rice and flour.

The two sides began to negotiate terms. Yun Ningyan said, "I'll give you 80 cents a pound for rice and 50 cents a pound for flour. Even if you sell the rice for 1.5 yuan a pound, people will still buy it. And the flour is better than any flour on the market. If that's acceptable, we'll deliver the goods!"

She only gave her a discount because of Huo Junshan's influence.

The two parties exchanged money and goods, totaling 1400 yuan.

She took the money, turned around and left without giving it another glance.

Huo Junshan said to Yang Dasheng, "This guy is worth dealing with. If we see him again, we'll do it again!"

Not long after, Yang Dasheng's uncle arrived in a truck, and the group hauled away the goods after dark.

Huo Junshan didn't sleep a wink all night. They went straight to the city, and luckily, they had a letter of introduction from Uncle Yang Dasheng.

Huo Junshan and Yang Dasheng sold this batch of goods to the city's black market boss and the city's steel plant, respectively.

Yang Dasheng was astonished. "Brother Huo, when did you get to know the steel mill manager?"

Huo Junshan drove casually, "I've known him for a long time, it was by chance. His factory has a lot of people, and they're really short of these things. He just said that if we can find pork, he'll take as much as we can. Mid-Autumn Festival is coming soon, and they'll be giving out welfare benefits, usually rice, flour, cooking oil, meat and vegetables."

Yang Dasheng thought to himself, "Brother Huo, why don't we go find that person? Since he can get rice and flour, he can also get pork."

Huo Junshan nodded.

They sold rice for 1.2 yuan per jin (0.5 kg) and flour for 0.7 yuan, without needing coupons. They made a total of 600 yuan, with each person earning 300 yuan.

Yang Dasheng gave Huo Junshan the money, which totaled one thousand yuan including interest. The principal was seven hundred yuan, and he made three hundred yuan.

Yang Dasheng shook his head, a little disappointed. He only earned three hundred yuan after the trip, which was a bit low. He should have gotten more goods.

It was almost dawn when Huo Junshan arrived in the village. He secretly opened Yun Ningyan's door. Yun Ningyan was worried about him and didn't dare to sleep too soundly. She woke up at the slightest noise.

"How did it go? Was it successful?"

Huo Junshan nodded and took the money out of his pocket. "Successfully, I made three hundred yuan."

Yun Ningyan put the money away, very excited; her warehouse had gained another three hundred yuan in income.

She rolled over a little, patted the blanket, and said, "Come lie down for a while, it'll be dawn soon."

Huo Junshan didn't want to take a bath, so he just lay down, closed his eyes and rested for a while. Yun Ningyan had fallen asleep again at some point.

When Huo Junshan left, he covered her with a blanket and went back to the Huo family home.

Li Xiangyun had already gotten up to cook. She had been worried all night. "Third brother, you're only just getting back? What happened?"

Huo Junshan said, "It's nothing. Yang Dasheng asked me to help him with something. I'm going to take a nap."

The brigade leader went to the fields early in the morning to see if the road was passable. The land was almost dry, and it had just rained, so it was perfect for plowing.

The familiar whistle blew, and the commune members and educated youth who had been resting for a few days got up and went to work.

When it came time to assign tasks, Yun Ningyan was put in the team that cut pig feed. The team was full of children, and she hadn't said she wanted to cut pig feed!

She looked at Huo Junshan, and Huo Junjie nodded at her. Fine, let's just cut pig feed then!

Now I can be lazy openly and legitimately.

The brigade leader's two granddaughters came to find her carrying baskets on their backs. Huo Junshan also came over and told them, "It's her first day cutting pig feed. Teach her. Your third uncle will buy you some food later."

The two girls, Da Niu and Er Niu, nodded understandingly. Yun Ningyan glared at Huo Junshan. Was she really as useless as he said? Didn't she even recognize pig feed?

Huo Junshan touched his nose and went to work.

Da Niu and Er Niu led her to the foot of the mountain. "Aunt Ning Ning, this is what pig feed is like. Pigs won't eat other kinds of feed."

She picked a few handfuls of grass and explained them to her one by one, her earnest expression making Yun Ningyan laugh. She took out two White Rabbit milk candies and gave them to the two of them, saying, "Thank you for teaching me."

The two girls, Da Niu and Er Niu, accepted the candy with a bit of embarrassment.

Yun Ningyan slowly cut pig feed by herself. She found that she needed seven or eight-year-old children to cut pig feed together. They found pig feed quickly and accurately, even faster than she could.

Huo Junshan made her do this job so she could rest. It didn't matter whether she did it or not; she only needed to hand in two or three centimeters a day.

She unconsciously walked to the place where they had picked mushrooms last time, took out her water bottle and took a sip of water. When she opened the lid, she accidentally spilled a little.

She had just taken a sip of water when a rabbit rushed over, startling her. But the rabbit remained motionless at her feet. She slowly reached out, grabbed the rabbit, and, seeing no one around, threw it into her spatial storage.

A moment later, another pheasant came along, its expression exactly the same as the rabbit's.

She put the pheasant into her spatial storage, and when no one was looking, she slipped inside as well. The pheasant and the rabbit were drinking water by the spring. She seemed to be deep in thought. Could it be that the spiritual spring water had attracted them here?
