Chapter 1: The Qin Family Hears Their Heart's Voice for the First Time

Little Qianluo was sitting on the soft couch reading a book. She was born with memories of her past life. Now she was eleven years old. Her chubby cheeks were flushed with a little red. Her beautiful eyes were focused on the book in her hands. There was a sense of tranquility and gentleness in her eyes.

"Luo...Luo Bao"

A sweet, childlike voice rang in her mind. Qianluo's eyes widened in surprise, and she asked, "Who?"

"Luo Bao, I'm your System 001. Do you remember me?"

Hearing this, Qianluo felt slightly calmer. She recognized that sweet, childlike voice; she had heard it in her past life when she was on the verge of death. However, she had never heard it in this life, and she thought it was just her imagination.

"Are you my system?"

"Yes, Luo Bao, we communicated in our past lives."

"You brought me into this world, didn't you?"

The soft, childlike voice was extremely excited: "Yes, yes, it's me! I'm the most amazing System 001!"

Hearing that arrogant voice, Qianlu smiled gently, then thought for a moment, guessing that the system had appeared now to save her. "You've appeared now to save me, haven't you?"

"Luo Bao is amazing! I haven't even told you yet!"

While the two were chatting happily in their minds, Qianluo didn't notice the maids and servants outside the door, their eyes wide with terror. They stumbled into the mistress's room, crying out, "Madam, Madam, something terrible has happened! I can hear the young lady's..." Before she could finish her thought, the maid became even more frightened. Qianluo's mother, Madam Lin, worried that something had happened to her youngest daughter, rushed to her courtyard. As soon as she entered, she overheard the conversation between the two. Puzzled, she tried to speak but couldn't make a sound, so she shut her mouth and listened outside the door. She decided to wait for the Prime Minister to return before deciding what to do.

Prime Minister Qin Shouzheng, a first-rank Left Prime Minister of the Imperial Court, was known for his integrity, love for his wife and daughters, and especially his affection for Qin Qianluo. He had only one wife in his life, Lin Ruoqing, the eldest daughter of General Zhenyuan. She was from a military family and was known for her unconventional manners but also for her meticulous nature. After marrying Prime Minister Qin, she had one son and two daughters. Their eldest son, Qin Jiyuan, was seventeen years old and was upright and kind. Their second daughter, Qin Qianyu, was fifteen years old, well-educated, gentle, and skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. Their third daughter, Qin Qianluo, was eleven years old and the youngest child in the family. She was pampered and grew up to be graceful and charming, at least in front of others who could hear her true feelings.

At dinner time, the family sat at the table and ate normally, when Qianluo's inner voice rang out.

"001, I haven't asked you yet, have I completed my final mission?"

"It's done, Luo Bao. Don't worry, you've done a great job."

"That's good, then..."

Before Qianlu could finish speaking, that sweet, childlike voice rang out urgently, as if it didn't want Qianlu to ask for more details.

"Luo Bao, Luo Bao, how is this country? How were your parents in this life?"

Qianluo paused slightly, then answered in her heart, "Feudal dynasties are all pretty much the same. My father was the prime minister; how bad could he be? Compared to ordinary people, I'm doing very well. My mother, brothers, and sisters treat me very well, and there are no concubines, illegitimate daughters, or illegitimate sons in the household. I'm very happy."

"That's good, that's good. Luo Bao deserves all this. Luo Bao, do you want to watch the drama unfold?"

"Just watching the show?"

"Yes, yes, I know everything about everyone. Luo Bao, you can ask me anything you want to know. This system is super powerful!"

The expressions of the Qin family members changed slightly. They exchanged glances, then lowered their heads to eat. The maids and servants around them dared not speak, but listened with curiosity.

"Then tell me, I've never left the palace since I was born, I've always stayed in the mansion, so I don't know much about this dynasty."

"Okay, Luo Bao, the royal family of Tianxuan Kingdom is the Ning family, and Emperor Ning is Ning Ze. The emperor here is very enlightened; he allows female officials to appear. Moreover, the highest-ranking female official is the same as Luo Bao's father—the Right Chancellor! How amazing! There are also female generals and ministers! Wow!"

"This emperor seems quite enlightened; he appears to be a good emperor."

"Hmm, in this system's eyes, this emperor passes the test; he's a wise ruler, very similar to the great emperor Luo Bao admired in her previous life."

"A great emperor for all time... let's wait and see. It's still early, the emperor is still young."

The Qin family members were sweating profusely, their lips twitching slightly. It seemed their youngest daughter had memories of a past life, and her past life seemed quite different from her present one—she also had an emperor? A great emperor, no less! But her inner thoughts were so disrespectful to the current emperor, her casual comments about him and his officials didn't seem like those of someone who had ever been an emperor. And what exactly was this "001"? Before the Qin family could finish their thoughts, the system's voice sounded again.

Wow~ Wow, wow, there's one, no, no, there are so many juicy juicy stories! How exciting!

"What? What? Speak quickly!"

"Don't worry, Luo Bao. The emperor will be holding a birthday banquet in a few days, and all the ministers will be there. I'll tell you more once you've seen the crowd. You seem to be more involved in the story."

"Alright"

The members of the Qin family exchanged glances. Prime Minister Qin thought to himself: I wonder if everyone can hear these thoughts. Judging from Madam's words, those who haven't heard them yet cannot tell others what they think. My youngest daughter is so special. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing. I also don't know what that 001 is. Will it hurt my youngest daughter?

After dinner, Qianluo went back to her room to rest. Her older brother and second sister secretly returned to their parents' room to discuss whether or not to take Luo'er to the emperor's birthday celebration a few days later. If they took her, they worried that her feelings might cause trouble; if they didn't take her, they worried that she would make a scene. Qin Qianyu asked, "Father, Mother, what should we do about the palace banquet?"

Lin Ruoqing sighed softly: "If I don't take Luo'er with me, how will I explain it when she asks? If I do take her, I wonder how many people will hear my thoughts."

Qin Jiyuan glanced at his father and then at his mother, lowered his eyes and pondered for a moment before looking up and saying, "Mother said that if someone doesn't hear your thoughts, the person who does can't discuss them with you. There might be other restrictions, but we don't know yet. All we know for now is that everyone in the mansion can hear them. Little sister doesn't seem to know if everyone can hear her thoughts either. Why don't we try to see if outsiders can hear them?"

Lin Ruoqing nodded: "Tomorrow I'll invite a few close friends over for a small gathering. You can bring Luo'er with you then, and see if they can hear me."

Prime Minister Qin continued, "We also need to test the distance at which this telepathic communication can travel. We must attend the palace banquet, otherwise Luo'er will overthink things. We can only test the distance to make it easier to protect Luo'er in case of danger."

Everyone nodded in agreement, still holding onto a sliver of hope that only a few family members could hear Qianluo's heartfelt words; that would be the best outcome.

By the second day, the Qin family had completely given up hope. Everyone could hear their thoughts, but there was some good news: only people within a 50-meter radius could hear them. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief; as long as there was distance, it was fine. What they didn't know at the time was that the system, that good-for-nothing child, would level up and expand the range of their thoughts.

A few days later, the birthday banquet began. Before disembarking from the carriage, Lin Ruoqing repeatedly reminded Luo'er, "After entering the palace, don't speak carelessly, and be sure to follow the rules."

Although Qianluo was puzzled by what she heard, she nodded nonetheless. After all, this was ancient times, not modern times; a careless word could implicate the whole family. She decided to just observe quietly. Except for Qianluo, the rest of the family alighted from the carriage, their minds heavy with worry, and entered the palace.
