Chapter 301 Allicin (Part 1)

Although she couldn't change it, Su Jinyun still felt uneasy, and afterwards, she went to see Qin Qianluo more and more frequently.

On this day, as dawn broke, the morning light shone through the thin clouds onto the palace's bluestone steps, casting a soft glow over the entire court.

The morning court session ended in a solemn atmosphere, with ministers dressed in court robes and holding tablets as they left the court one after another.

Su Jinyun and Qin Qianluo had agreed to go to the bookstore together. The two walked side by side, chatting and laughing all the way, their steps light and quick.

Su Jinyun stood tall and straight, dressed in a moon-white brocade robe with delicate ink bamboo patterns embroidered on the hem. Her steps exuded composure and elegance.

Qin Qianlu smiled slightly, wearing a light pink silk dress, and a jade hairpin in her hair made her eyes look even more lively. She exchanged a few words with Su Jinyun from time to time, and the atmosphere was relaxed and harmonious.

Just as they were about to step out of the palace gate, a hurried sound of footsteps came from behind them.

Su Jinyun and Qin Qianluo turned around at the same time and saw Physician Xu rushing over with a girl.

Physician Xu was dressed in a dark gray robe, the corners of which were stained with dust, and he looked anxious.

His forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat, and he staggered forward, taking a few steps to reach them and raising his hand to block their way.

For the past few days, Imperial Physician Xu has not appeared in court. No one in the court knows the specific reason.

I only vaguely heard that he was studying something of paramount importance, even at the cost of putting aside his official duties.

Su Jinyun looked at Physician Xu with a faint smile on her face, a smile that carried her usual gentleness and composure. She asked in a calm tone, "Physician Xu, what's wrong?"

As the sun rose higher, its warm rays poured down on the palace road, casting a long shadow of Physician Xu as he hurried along.

At this moment, his hair was disheveled, with a few strands stuck to his temples by sweat, and fine beads of sweat glistened on his forehead in the morning light.

Large beads of sweat slid down his cheeks, wetting the front of his shirt.

Rushing to Su Jinyun and Qin Qianluo, Physician Xu first raised his hand and solemnly straightened his slightly disheveled robes.

With his hands clasped together, his fingers trembling slightly from nervousness, he bowed deeply in a standard salute.

He was bent over very low and did not straighten up for a long time, as if he was accumulating some kind of strength.

When he finally raised his head, his eyes, filled with obvious urgency, swept back and forth between the two faces.

After confirming that he had attracted their attention, he cleared his throat slightly and spoke urgently yet cautiously about the purpose of his visit.

He spoke very quickly, his words coming out like a machine gun, interspersed with slight tremors caused by excitement.

As he continued his narration, his expression grew increasingly excited, and his hands began to gesture unconsciously, sometimes making grasping motions in the air as if trying to grasp those ineffable thoughts.

Then he waved it vigorously, as if emphasizing a key discovery.

A thin layer of sweat broke out on his forehead from excitement, and a few strands of hair stuck to his cheeks with sweat, but he was completely unaware of it.

Qin Qianlu listened quietly with a puzzled look on her face, her expression focused, her brows slightly furrowed, and she nodded occasionally, as if trying to keep up with Physician Xu's jumping thoughts.

But the moment Physician Xu uttered those crucial words, her eyes widened in shock, and her rosy lips parted slightly.

He subconsciously raised his voice: "What? You said you extracted allicin?"

The sharp, yet slightly surprised, sound echoed instantly in the empty palace corridor, startling several birds perched on nearby branches.

The bird flapped its wings, drew an arc, and disappeared beyond the palace walls.

Physician Xu was startled by the sudden high decibels. His body trembled violently, a look of panic flashed across his face, and his eyes were full of unease.

I thought my research results were wrong, and my heart skipped a beat. I felt like I had a rabbit in my hand.

His hands clenched unconsciously, his knuckles turning white from the force.

But when he looked at Qin Qianluo again, he saw that her face was full of disbelief, her eyes were wide open, and her eyes were shining with surprise and expectation, not doubt.

His heart, which had been hanging in suspense, slowly settled back down. He took a deep breath to calm himself and respectfully replied with his hands clasped, "Your Highness, that's right."

For the past few months, I have spent day and night in the pharmacy of the clinic, consulting countless books, searching for clues in medical records, and repeatedly conducting experiments on the proportions of medicinal materials.

After countless failures, they finally succeeded in extracting allicin.

"Quick, quick, take me to see!" Qin Qianluo's voice trembled with excitement, as if it were overflowing with joy.

She gripped Su Jinyun's arm tightly with both hands, her fingertips turning slightly white from the force, and kept urging Physician Xu to lead the way.

Her eyes sparkled with excitement, like the brightest stars in the night sky, each ray of light brimming with eager anticipation.

Her cheeks flushed with excitement, like peach blossoms in full bloom in spring, beautiful and dazzling.

Her body leaned slightly forward, her toes tapping the ground repeatedly, as if there were an invisible spring beneath her feet.

He exuded an irrepressible urgency, wishing he could sprout wings and fly to the place where allicin was stored at lightning speed.

Physician Xu and the young girl beside him were taken aback. Their expressions were identical, their mouths slightly open and a hint of surprise flashing across their faces.

They exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with confusion, seemingly still processing Qin Qianluo's sudden and strong reaction. However, they quickly came to their senses.
