Normally, Ning Chenxing always presented himself as a scholar obsessed with calligraphy and painting, but once they clashed, Eunuch Li was surprised to find that this man was highly skilled in martial arts and had kept his abilities hidden.
In just a few rounds, Eunuch Li found himself in a predicament, feeling as if he were a small boat in a raging storm, in danger of being swallowed up at any moment.
Large beads of sweat rolled down Li Gonggong's wrinkled forehead like broken beads, flowing freely down his cheeks and quickly soaking his collar.
His breathing became increasingly rapid, his chest heaving violently, each breath seeming as if he were struggling to tear the air apart.
The heavy breathing sounded particularly jarring in the quiet yet tense atmosphere of the imperial study.
Faced with Ning Chenxing's fierce and relentless attacks, he could only do his best to barely parry, his hands trembling slightly from the excessive force, and his steps began to falter.
Each step back felt so difficult, as if the ground beneath my feet had become rugged and uneven.
Just as Eunuch Li was struggling to deal with Ning Chenxing's attacks, he caught a glimpse of the men in black filing in one after another like ghosts.
They moved swiftly and nimbly, silently surging into the once solemn and dignified Imperial Study, like a group of demons from the abyss of darkness.
A wave of overwhelming panic surged through Eunuch Li's heart, and an ominous premonition enveloped him like a dark cloud.
If these people were able to enter the Imperial Study so easily, then the guards responsible for protecting the Emperor outside must have met with misfortune and may very well have all been murdered.
Thinking of this, Eunuch Li's heart sank into an abyss, and a chill ran from the soles of his feet straight up to his heart.
His mind was like a tangled mess of threads, with all sorts of thoughts rushing in and making him feel agitated.
He wondered with great concern what the Imperial Guards, responsible for the defense of the capital and the protection of the royal family, were doing at this moment.
Are they still holding their posts, ready for action?
When will they finally realize the sudden and dramatic turn of events in the palace, and then quickly mobilize troops to come to the rescue like divine soldiers descending from the heavens?
Time seemed to freeze in the tense atmosphere, each second becoming incredibly long, and Li Gonggong's heart tightened more and more with each passing moment.
Despite trembling with fear like a leaf in a storm, Eunuch Li remained steadfast in his loyalty to the Emperor and felt a profound sense of duty.
But it was like a flame that burned ever brighter in his chest, showing no sign of extinguishing.
He knew that as a close attendant of the emperor, he could not back down at this moment.
Even if there are mountains of knives and seas of fire or bottomless abysses ahead, they must hold on to the end and use their own bodies to build the last line of defense for the emperor.
So he clenched his teeth tightly, his cheeks bulging out from the excessive force, his lips turning white from being bitten, and a trickle of blood slowly sliding down the corner of his mouth.
Suppressing the overwhelming fear within him, he used all his strength.
He spoke slowly and deliberately, his voice firm and resolute: "Your Highness, your audacious and rebellious actions today suggest that you intend to openly rebel."
Do they dare to use their own selfish desires to overthrow this great land passed down from their ancestors, plunging the people into misery?
Although the voice trembled slightly due to tension and fear, it still carried an unwavering determination and resolve.
It was as if it was issuing a final warning to Ning Chenxing, and also declaring to itself its unwavering will to never yield.
The voice echoed in the imperial study, thin yet powerful, as if it were trying to break through the suffocating darkness and usher in the light.
Upon hearing Eunuch Li's resounding question, Ning Chenxing's expression froze for a moment, and a brief look of astonishment appeared on his face.
But in an instant, this astonishment was replaced by boundless arrogance, and he threw his head back and let out a wild and manic laugh.
The laughter seemed to burst forth from the depths of his soul, like a thunderclap in the night sky, sharp and piercing, echoing wildly in the enclosed space of the Imperial Study.
The walls vibrated and hummed, and a chilling, mad atmosphere filled the air.
He laughed without restraint, his body trembling violently with the laughter, his hands waving wildly as if to release all his pent-up emotions and ambitions in the laughter.
Before the laughter had even subsided, his gaze suddenly turned as sharp and cold as an ice blade, like the biting wind of the dead of winter, capable of piercing to the bone.
In an instant, he suddenly raised his palm, which resembled a dark cloud gathering dark power, carrying an aura of world destruction.
With lightning speed, it viciously struck Li Gonggong's heart.
This palm strike embodied his long-standing covetousness for the throne, his thirst for power, and the madness and ruthlessness of his impending conspiracy.
The palm strike whistled past, seemingly capable of tearing through the air, emitting a sharp hissing sound.
Unable to dodge in time, Eunuch Li felt an overwhelming force, like a surging tsunami, rushing towards him.
It felt as if a towering mountain had crashed down on my chest.
The force was so powerful that his body instantly lost control, flying backward several steps like a pebble that had been launched.
He slammed heavily against a table beside him, which was made of fine mahogany and was exceptionally sturdy.
But under this enormous impact, it was as fragile as a building block, emitting a painful "creak" before instantly shattering into pieces.
Eunuch Li's body slid down the broken table shards and crashed heavily to the ground.
