Bow without a string

Bow without a string

With the bowstring snapping, Jiuxiao seemed to have become a useless piece of wood. Jiang Yingyue's pupils trembled. It was a divine artifact that she had risked half her life to obtain, and it had been destroyed just like that.

“You are truly… hopelessly selfish.” Jiang Yingyue said through gritted teeth. She slowly stood up and pointed at Feng Shi’s nose. “Your sister, from the moment she set off for Qihai, has been thinking of everyone else, just like the others. She only cares about the people of the world.”

After so much time, Jiang Yingyue felt deep respect for the five people from back then. She had seen them as her motivation countless times. Faced with Qin Huang's accusations, she only felt more angry, because his casual remark had distorted everyone's efforts, even the efforts of his most cherished sister.

“What right do you have to judge them? What right do you have to hate them on her behalf?” Jiang Yingyue gripped Jiuxiao tightly in her hand. “You have even less right to presume to say that you will not forgive them. If it weren’t for that voyage, you might not even be alive today.”

Although she couldn't see what was under Qin Huang's blindfold, Jiang Yingyue could feel his anger. However, no matter what happened, her mind would not change, and her path of revenge would never stop here.

Instantly, Jiuxiao also emitted a light that was no less than that of the Thunder Sword. Gold gradually covered the bow and condensed into a brand new bowstring. It turned out that this was the real Jiuxiao, just like Jiang Yingyue, who was reborn after death.

Qin Huang seemed to notice the change as well. He poured all his resentment onto Jiang Yingyue, slashing continuously. Jiang Yingyue's hands seemed to be connected with Jiu Xiao's mind. She leaped up, raised her bow, and her right hand was in the position of nocking an arrow. A golden arrow actually appeared in her hand!

Upon hearing the sound of the arrow being fired, Qin Huang was clearly puzzled. After all, he had already judged from the sound that Jiang Yingyue had fired all her arrows. Without any further thought, he immediately swung his sword to cut it in half. However, the arrow seemed to have a life of its own, nimbly bypassing Qin Huang and piercing his right shoulder from behind.

What an amazing scene! This is the real Nine Heavens Bow, the legendary divine bow that never misses a shot, a bow that needs neither a bowstring nor an arrow.

While Qin Huang was in shock, his body finally reached its limit due to overuse of the Thunder Sword. He was not originally the owner of the Thunder Sword, but was able to use it only because of a trace of aura left by his sister, the former sword master. Every swing of the sword was consuming his life.

As a mouthful of blood spurted from his mouth, Qin Huang finally felt a pain throughout his body as if a thousand insects were gnawing at his bones. Even the wounds that the physician had stitched up earlier burst open again. The intense pain forced him to kneel on the ground. He couldn't understand how Jiang Yingyue had managed to do that.

"What...what did you do?" Qin Huang's voice weakened as he used all his strength to keep himself from collapsing.

Seeing this, Jiang Yingyue couldn't help but sigh: "You can't win anymore."

"Heh." Qin Huang sneered, "So you've won?" As he spoke, the Thunder Sword emitted light once more; he actually wanted to unleash its power again!

"Are you crazy? You'll die if you keep going like this!" Jiang Yingyue finally couldn't bear to speak up.

Blood seeped from all over Qin Huang's body, soaking his already dark clothes even deeper. Fortunately, he was not in the same condition as before, otherwise Jiang Yingyue would not have had time to react to this attack: "You are right about one thing, I am a selfish and incurable person."
