gale

gale

When the three of them reached the foot of the mountain, they couldn't tell if it was noon because of the rain, and they didn't know Jiuxiao's exact location. If they were unlucky, they would probably have to search the entire mountain.

Neither of them said anything, they just exchanged glances and then went up the mountain. After all, one can't think too much at a time like this. The more you worry about the problems that might arise, the less you dare to act. For them, there wasn't enough time to hesitate. Even though a deadly gale was blowing on the mountain, they had to go.

The town that Jiang Yingyue and her group had just sped through was now unusually quiet.

"Miss Xin! Miss Xin!" A man stumbled and ran toward an inconspicuous little house in the town, not even bothering to knock before going straight in.

"Uncle Zheng? What's wrong?" A young woman who looked to be about twenty-four years old was sitting inside. She was dressed in a close-fitting outfit and was taller than average. "Why are you in such a hurry?"

The man, panting heavily from running from the other end of town, his forehead dripping with large beads of sweat, cried out, "Something's wrong, Miss Xin... someone... someone... went up Rifeng Mountain..."

"What?" Ah Xin's face immediately showed extreme anxiety. She quickly got up to grab the spear that was placed to the side, and didn't forget to ask, "How many people? When?"

"Three...they're on horseback, they've probably arrived by now."

Before she could finish speaking, Ah Xin was about to head out: "Okay, I'll be right there." She gripped the spear tightly in her hand. "Thank you for your trouble, Uncle Zheng." With that, she ran off towards Rifeng Mountain without looking back.

At the foot of the mountain, the three of them had only been climbing for a short time when they began to feel a slight breeze. Just to be on the safe side, they knew they couldn't use their light-footed skills to climb the mountain, or they would be finished if they encountered a strong wind.

The higher they went, the more difficult it became for them to move forward. The wind was like an invisible hand pushing them back. They hadn't even reached the halfway point when Jiang Yingyue was using all her strength to stabilize her center of gravity. How could they possibly reach the Nine Heavens if things continued like this?

Just as the three were at their wits' end, a loud noise at the foot of the mountain caught their attention. Before they could think about it, a heavy spear landed in front of them, along with a rather burly woman.

The gale seemed to have no effect on her at all; while Jiang Yingyue and the others were unsteady on their feet, her body did not even tremble slightly.

"Get down the mountain immediately," Ah Xin said, her words brooking no argument. "Are you out of your minds to go back up the mountain now?"

At this moment, Ye Qingzhu also said, "Miss, we went up the mountain to find the Nine Heavens Bow, it is very important."

But to everyone's surprise, Ah Xin's face immediately darkened upon hearing this: "It's Jiu Xiao again..." Then she raised her spear with a clang and pointed it directly at the three of them, "Get out of here right now."

Upon seeing this, Ji Yinglei immediately drew her sword, but due to the wind, she didn't have much of a chance of winning. However, Jiang Yingyue raised her hand to stop her: "Although I don't know who you are or why you are stopping us, I must take Jiuxiao."

Ah Xin sneered, still showing no intention of putting down her gun: "Do you know how many people try to take this bow every year? They're all like you, thinking they can withstand the hurricanes on the mountain." As she spoke, she slammed the gun heavily into the ground. "Take a good look. You haven't even reached the halfway point, and you're already almost unable to stand."

She was right. The higher they went, the stronger the wind would get. Ji Yinglei even wondered if they should come back at noon the next day. What difference was there between going up now and throwing their lives away?

“No.” Jiang Yingyue’s eyes gleamed with determination. “I not only want to get it, I must get it today.”

"Then I'll just have to severely injure you, which is better than losing your lives up there." As soon as he finished speaking, the ten-pound spear flew towards the three of them.
