Jiangzhou

Jiangzhou

The cabin was empty. Jiang Yingyue had not yet recovered from the nightmare. She was panting heavily. If Ji Yinglei had really been at the door that day, she couldn't even imagine how devastating it would have been.

At this moment, Ji Yinglei returned to the cabin and immediately noticed Jiang Yingyue's pale face: "Yue'er, what's wrong?"

Jiang Yingyue shook her head: "I just had a nightmare, it's nothing serious."

"If there are any problems, don't try to handle it yourself, okay?" Ji Yinglei instructed with concern. Before this, Jiang Yingyue felt a deep sense of guilt that permeated every part of her body. "I just went to take a look. In another hour, we will arrive in Jiangzhou."

"So fast?" This is four or five days earlier than Jiang Yingyue expected. What's worse, she hasn't had a chance to tell Ji Yinglei that she will be traveling by land next.

"That's how merchant ships are. After we go ashore, I'll go ask around to see if there are any ships going to Kuizhou," Ji Yinglei said. "Yue'er, are you alright?"

“Hmm, Senior Sister, I think it’s best not to take a boat for the rest of the journey.” Jiang Yingyue tugged at Ji Yinglei’s sleeve, clearly puzzled. “At this point, Bai Yu might already know our whereabouts, and the chances of us being intercepted if we continue by water are very high.”

Ji Yinglei also pondered, and Jiang Yingyue's words made sense: "If that's the case, there will still be a way out when we encounter the Heavenly Dao Alliance on land... Yue'er's thinking is becoming more and more comprehensive."

Before long, Jiang Yingyue and Ji Yinglei arrived on the deck, while Ye Qingzhu stood to the side, gazing into the distance: "Look, we can already vaguely see the shore ahead." Just as she said, the hazy shadows ahead were clearly visible. Jiang Yingyue seemed to hear the voices of people on the shore. After so many days, they could finally disembark.

As the boat slowly came to a stop, Jiang Yingyue still felt a little unreal. Everyone on the dock was busy with their own things, and the three of them headed towards Jiangzhou City.

Now that they had decided to travel by land, they needed to purchase enough supplies. Fortunately, Ye Qingzhu had some money on her; otherwise, Ji Yinglei and the others would have had to live frugally for dozens of days.

Jiangzhou City was much quieter than Hangzhou, making people unconsciously slow down. Ji Yinglei was in charge of purchasing some daily necessities and medicines, while Jiang Yingyue and Ye Qingzhu were in charge of food along the way. When they passed a wine stall, the two stopped as if they had conspired to do so.

"Jade pot spring."

Based solely on the aroma of the wine, the two simultaneously named the wine. Jiang Yingyue then spoke first: "We're here to buy necessities, Qingzhu."

"The guilty party is accusing the innocent first." Ye Qingzhu squeezed the money pouch in her hand. "I still have money left over. If you don't drink, I will."

"Give me half, and I'll use my pot to hold it. Senior Sister won't notice." Jiang Yingyue immediately offered her bargaining chip, but Ye Qingzhu's lips curled into a wicked smile: "No way, I'll give you six and you four."

"Hey—" Although Jiang Yingyue was unwilling, she could only go along with Ye Qingzhu's wishes, since she was the one who paid the money.

Around dusk, the group returned to the market entrance and met up. As they discussed whether to stay the night or continue their journey, a dark figure was watching them from a distant rooftop. Jiang Yingyue seemed to sense the gaze, looked up, and their eyes met.
