Why fight?

Why fight?

"What's wrong? Are you thinking about those unpleasant memories from the past?" A strange smile appeared on Bai Yu's lips. "Then let me help you recall them again. Have you ever thought that someone as vigilant as Jiang Yuan would never let someone stab him in the back?"

Jiang Yingyue clutched her head in pain. Behind her, Ye Qingzhu, despite the excruciating pain throughout her body, lashed out with her whip, hoping to shut Bai Yu up, but it was all in vain; she was simply too exhausted.

"I have to thank you for all of this. If you hadn't let Shen Ci go up the mountain, how could I have such a capable inside man?" Bai Yu continued to approach. "You know, Jiang Yuan lowered all his guard as soon as he heard that he was your friend."

*Smack*

It was as if a string in Jiang Yingyue's mind had snapped. Her previously noisy mind suddenly fell silent. She could neither hear nor see anything, as if nothing had ever existed.

Bai Yu also stood still with satisfaction. He knew that Jiang Yingyue had now lost all fighting spirit.

All her actions stemmed from that hatred and guilt. She hated Bai Yu so much, hated him for ruining everything. But just one sentence amplified Jiang Yingyue's guilt infinitely: Bai Yu wasn't the only culprit who destroyed the Bright Moon Sect; she herself was too.

She could still hear her reason screaming. She knew she had to make Bai Yu pay the price, but now, the most obvious thought in her mind overwhelmed everything else: she wanted to escape, she desperately wanted to escape.

Death is the only way to atone for one's sins and find liberation.

Jiang Yingyue raised her sword, but the blade was no longer pointing forward; instead, it was pointed at herself. Ye Qingzhu was terrified: "Jiang Yingyue! Don't listen to what he says!"

Seeing that the situation was getting out of control, Ye Qingzhu didn't even have time to think. She raised her silver whip and lashed it hard at Jiang Yingyue's back.

With a sharp pain, Jiang Yingyue's mind was finally brought back to normal. Even she didn't understand what had just happened to her. Jiang Yingyue endured the pain in her back and swung the Thunder Sword upwards. A visible sword aura shot towards Bai Yu.

Jiang Yingyue tossed the Thunder Sword into the air, then quickly picked up the Nine Heavens Sword and shot an arrow in front of her. She then caught the falling Thunder Sword, repeating this motion repeatedly. Not only did Bai Yu have to concentrate on defending himself, but she was also gradually getting closer to him.

The Thousand Whirlpool Umbrella was a big problem. It could flexibly block the arrows from the heavens, yet it was very difficult to destroy. Jiang Yingyue kept thinking about how to get through this challenge.

I wish I had a fire to melt it.

The thought had never been so strong. As soon as it appeared, Jiang Yingyue immediately felt the heat emanating from her fingertips. It was an arrow radiating heat, which had appeared in her hand. Without hesitation, she immediately let go.

Amidst a clearly audible whooshing sound, the moment the arrow struck the Thousand Whirlpool Umbrella, the umbrella immediately began to deform due to the intense heat, emitting a constant, ear-piercing sound. Even Bai Yu hadn't anticipated this. Taking advantage of this moment, Jiang Yingyue caught the Thunder Sword again and pierced Bai Yu's palm, pinning him to the ground.

Bai Yu looked up and saw Jiang Yingyue with her bow fully drawn, facing him directly into his eyes: "You lost."

Once again, Jiang Yingyue delivered her verdict, and this time, Bai Yu would have no room for maneuver.

"Heh, hehehehehehe..." Bai Yu laughed to himself, as if his palm didn't feel any pain at all. "Once again, I lost. Congratulations, Jiang Yingyue."
