Xuanjin Pavilion
Jiang Yingyue looked at the woman with the icy expression in front of her and couldn't say a word. Even her breathing became rapid. "If I explain, will you listen?" Ji Wushuang didn't respond. Jiang Yingyue couldn't help but sneer. "That's right. The Lord of Tingyu Tower can't lie. Now that you have his handprint, my crime is already set in your mind. No matter how I explain, it's useless."
However, Ji Wushuang would not soften her heart because of this: "I have my own judgment on who is right and who is wrong. Do you really want to bear these accusations?"
“Alright, then I’ll tell you. Bai Yu led the massacre of the Bright Moon Sect, they took the Thunder Sword, and I killed that man in Hangzhou to avenge my father.” As she spoke, Jiang Yingyue’s eyes gradually reddened. “But there is one crime I cannot escape: I abandoned everyone in the Bright Moon Sect and left. If I hadn’t, things might have been different.”
"Yue'er... that wasn't your fault." Ji Yinglei looked at Jiang Yingyue with a worried expression, and the arrow wound from back then seemed to be throbbing again.
Two crystal tears slid down her cheeks. Jiang Yingyue stared into Ji Wushuang's eyes: "I can't deny the crimes they've accused me of, nor can I admit to them all." With that, Jiang Yingyue knelt down with a thud. "If you think I should pay with my life, I will not live another moment."
Then, in front of everyone, she bowed deeply to Ji Wushuang: "After I avenge my father and everyone else, you may cut off my head with your own hands."
The hall was eerily quiet. After a moment, Ji Wushuang slowly stood up and walked step by step toward Jiang Yingyue. With a flash of cold light, she raised her sword high. Jiang Yingyue just watched, without even closing her eyes.
The next second, a crisp impact sound.
The shackles on his hands fell to the ground with a clatter, and then Ji Wushuang also cut off Ji Yinglei's handcuffs: "If you really have the ability to kill Bai Yu, I can't afford to pay for your lives." After saying that, Ji Wushuang raised his hand and placed the indictment on the candle, letting it burn to ashes.
Seeing this, General Qi said nothing more.
Just as they were about to leave, Jiang Yingyue called out to Ji Wushuang again: "We have a good friend who was traveling with us. He was taken away by unidentified people last night."
Ji Wushuang frowned: "Have you encountered any suspicious people since you arrived here?"
“When we left the city, we encountered a man with a lotus tattoo on his face, but we didn’t fight him,” Ji Yinglei said first.
“That must be the Dark Lotus Cult.” General Qi quickly realized, “Besides them and criminals, no one would get tattoos on their face.”
For the first time, Ji Wushuang's expression showed tension: "In recent years, the Underworld Lotus Sect has been expanding its followers. I have placed spies all over the city to guard against them, yet they still dare to kidnap people."
Jiang Yingyue's heart sank again, meaning that Ye Qingzhu was in a very dangerous situation: "Where are they located?"
“Nobody knows.” General Qi frowned. “Only their followers know. We sent an undercover agent before, but he also lost contact.”
"Don't worry, I'll send someone to investigate for you. What if it wasn't the Dark Lotus Sect?" Ji Wushuang said. "Stay here with me for the time being, don't show yourselves, and avoid the authorities."
