Chapter 50 Santorini (4) Reunion.
I began my leisurely stroll through the alleyways of Fira, past the viewpoints and stone steps where tourists gathered, and along the harbor waterfront.
They meticulously search for lost coins every day, even looking through the sewers.
"Here are two euros."
The little cat ghost followed behind her to help search. It quickly ran over, used its paws to pull out the coins next to the flower pot in the store, carefully picked them up, and ran to a quiet, deserted corner of the stairs to hide them.
Most of the time, he would delay letting the other person return to Zoe's side to be with her, while he went outside to look for the coins scattered everywhere.
When you're lucky, you can find a few coins a day; when you're unlucky, you can't find any.
Chichi would deliberately choose to patrol the streets in advance when there were fewer people, either in the middle of the night or early morning, so that she could collect the gifts from tourists before the roads were cleaned.
As the streets dwindled in the middle of the night, the little ghost returned to Anafi Street to keep Zoe company, intently examining every crevice in the stone steps, searching for a coin stuck inside.
A fifty-cent coin was stuck so deep that she couldn't retrieve it even after her claws had become dull.
A shadow silently approached from the top of the wall; even the usually perceptive kitten didn't hear a single footstep.
She was still struggling with that old coin when a claw reached in precisely from the side, hooked it from some unknown angle, and the coin rolled out cleanly.
Chichi was startled and noticed another cat suddenly appearing beside her, causing her fur to stand on end.
She must have been too focused; she didn't even realize when the other person arrived.
When he finally recognized the person, seeing the familiar dark figure and golden eyes, he was surprised and a little stunned: "How come it's you? What are you doing here!"
She thought the last world was the last time they would meet, but she never expected to meet him again in this world!
Do you need money?
"I need to save money to buy things." She pressed on, "You still haven't told me how you got here."
The black cat lowered its head and gently touched the kitten's head: "Just like you."
This answer was understated, but it contained a lot of information for Chichi, making her feel like she was being washed over by waves.
She happily circled around the other person, carefully inhaling their familiar scent: "That's wonderful! You can travel the world too! We can travel together!"
The other person stood still, letting the kitten circle around him. The kitten excitedly headbutted him, exchanging its scent with him.
The fluffy little ball is very sticky to the cat, and I've stuck it on for ages to get my money's worth.
Noticing that this intimate gesture caused the other person to pause slightly, he hesitated for a moment before taking a half-step back, feeling embarrassed.
They took advantage of others for a long time, and now they feel ashamed.
Fortunately, some cats are generous and don't hold it against the kitten. They took a step closer, lowered their heads, and licked the fur collar of Chichi's scarf that had been ruffled.
The kitten's honey-colored eyes lit up.
Cats grooming each other is a close behavior that allows them to mix scents. It's surprising that such a cold cat would one day groom itself!
"Would you like to take a walk on the trail?" Chi Chi asked.
She's just ten euros short of having enough to buy new eye drops for humanity.
Two cats, one big and one small, walked into the cliffside walkway, which was bustling with people during the day, as night fell. The lights of the entire town spread out on the sea like inverted stars.
Chichi led the other person across one low wall after another with ease, and when they looked back, they could always see a pair of bright golden eyes.
The black cat suddenly stopped and gestured for her to look at the bench by the roadside: "Go look over there."
I walked over slowly, and sure enough, I found a shiny one-euro coin under the chair: "You're amazing, you could see it from so far away."
They continued their walk along the trail, one in front of the other, like perfectly in sync partners.
With the other party's help, Chichi found six coins in one go tonight, which, together with the ones she had found before, was just enough to buy a bottle of eye drops.
He delayed taking the other person to Anafi Street to find the little cat ghost.
"We've saved enough money to buy medicine for your master!" Chichi happily told the little cat ghost as it floated out.
The little cat ghost was initially very excited, but as soon as it saw the black cat next to Chichi, it automatically stopped and dared not approach any further.
"What's wrong with you?" Chi Chi asked the other person, puzzled.
The cat ghost's transparent, misty shadow lingered in the moonlight, timidly looking at the black cat, and said weakly, "He... I dare not go over."
Chi Chi looked around in surprise. Ever since she met the black cat, 1221 had been very quiet all night, as if it had only turned on auto-follow. This situation was very familiar.
The black cat took a few steps back, keeping its distance from the little cat ghost. This action clearly made the ghost relax a bit before it floated up to Chichi.
"He has a very strong, unfamiliar aura about him, and I'm a little scared," the little cat ghost whispered to Chichi.
He turned back to look at the black cat sitting quietly to the side. The moonlight draped over the cat, making it look exceptionally mysterious.
"He also helped find a lot of coins." Chichi showed the little cat a bag of loose change in a plastic bag. "We can go to the pharmacy now."
