Chapter 11 She bullied Qingxue

Chapter 11 She bullied Qingxue

"Mm." Jiang Ning nodded to Ning Junzhe. Although she was going through a divorce with Lu Junyan, they hadn't officially divorced yet, and she was still a married woman.

The thought of divorce weighed heavily on Jiang Ning's mind. She sighed and turned to Song Lili, saying, "I was just having dinner with a colleague. There's no law that says a married woman can't have dinner with a man, is there? Are you still living in the Qing Dynasty?"

"Colleagues? You're a housewife, where would you get colleagues?"

"You might as well say you're a classmate; you can't even make up a story."

"She probably doesn't have many classmates, right? She dropped out of college before finishing!"

Seeing that the two women at the next table were making a scene and were clearly looking for trouble, Ning Junzhe immediately defended Jiang Ning: "Don't look down on me. Teacher Jiang is now a psychological counselor at a juvenile detention center."

"A juvenile detention center counselor?" Song Lili rolled her eyes. "How much money can they make!"

"Lili, look what I found!"

At this moment, Wang Yang handed his phone to Song Lili.

What she showed Song Lili was a job posting for a juvenile detention center online.

"Volunteer? That's just being a volunteer! They don't earn a penny, so what's with the attitude?"

"Exactly! She calls herself a teacher? Does she even deserve that title?"

Song Lili and Wang Yang kept talking back and forth, which made Ning Junzhe so angry that he wanted to hit someone, but he couldn't actually hit a woman.

Jiang Ning didn't really care about Chu Qingxue's best friend provoking her; she just thought Ning Junzhe, who was standing up for her and clenching his fists, was kind of cute.

"Please stop talking. Jiang Ning has had a tough time too."

At this moment, Chu Qingxue's sweet voice rang out, her exquisitely made-up face full of sympathy for Jiang Ning.

"Juvenile detention centers are not good places after all. They are full of problem students and are similar to prisons. Someone like me, a psychology PhD graduate from a regular university, would never apply to such a place. So they can only recruit some unemployed people to do volunteer work, which saves costs and provides opportunities for people who have no education or ability but want to gain work experience."

Chu Qingxue's words seemed reasonable at first glance, but in reality, they belittled both Jiang Ning and the work of the juvenile detention center, which made Ning Junzhe even angrier.

Jiang Ning quietly opened her handbag and calmly took out several certificates.

“It’s fine if you slander me, but the juvenile detention center is not the unprofessional place you make it out to be. The psychological counselors there are required to have three certificates. If you are missing even one, you are not even qualified to take the written test, let alone get hired.”

The certificates displayed by Jiang Ning include a practicing physician's license, a social worker's license, and a basic training certificate for psychological counselors from the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Song Lili and Wang Yang looked at each other in bewilderment.

A fleeting look of guilt crossed Chu Qingxue's face, because she hadn't passed any of those exams.

"These days, how many fake certificates are made online? Who knows if your certificates are real?"

"Yeah, yeah, it's just a bluff, nothing like Qingxue's doctoral degree, which is much more valuable."

Jiang Ning hadn't expected Chu Qingxue's best friend to approve of her anyway, so she smiled calmly and was about to put the certificate away when the owner of the Japanese restaurant came over.

The proprietress is Japanese and married to a man from City A. Although she can speak some Chinese, she is not very fluent.

Upon seeing these certificates from Jiang Ning, he was so excited that he asked Jiang Ning questions in a mix of Japanese and Chinese.

Jiang Ning understands Japanese, so he spoke directly to the other party in Japanese.

It turns out that the landlady's child is preparing for the psychological counselor exam, but failed the last time, so she wanted to ask Jiang Ning if there were any better study materials.

Jiang Ning recommended a few books to the other party and briefly emphasized some key points. The other party praised her for being excellent, beautiful, and kind, making Jiang Ning feel embarrassed.

Song Lili and Wang Yang could barely understand a word of Japanese, but Chu Qingxue and Ning Junzhe could understand Japanese, though they couldn't speak it.

Chu Qingxue's face turned ugly.

Ning Junzhe had already come to regard Jiang Ning as his idol. He never expected that doing some social practice during the summer vacation would lead him to meet such an outstanding and beautiful woman as Jiang Ning.

Towards the end of the conversation, the proprietress was very happy and switched to Chinese to offer Jiang Ning a free meal, which Jiang Ning politely declined.

"Jiang Ning, you don't need to pretend to be rich. You're short on money anyway, so why not just accept the boss's kindness and have a free meal? There's nothing shameful about it."

Chu Qingxue acted as if she was doing it for Jiang Ning's own good, which disgusted Jiang Ning so much that he felt nauseous.

"I'm not that familiar with Miss Chu, how did you know I'm short of money?" Jiang Ning said, paying with her phone.

"Wow, look how generous she is! Anyone who didn't know better would think she earns a million a year! But she's still spending her husband's money!"

When mocked by Song Lili, Jiang Ning opened his mouth but did not immediately retort.

She wasn't actually using Lu Junyan's money, but rather the dividends Pete had given her over the years.

Although she spends ten million on medical expenses every year, FY's piano series sells well all over the world, so no matter how much she spends, she still has a lot in her account, which is equivalent to an astronomical figure for ordinary people.

Jiang Ning swallowed back the explanation that was on the tip of her tongue. Instead, she smiled slightly and said, "It's my own ability to find a husband who is rich, powerful, and willing to support me. You can ask Miss Chu if she doesn't want a husband like that."

"Jiangning!"

"Don't push your luck!"

Wang Yang and Song Lili were anxious; they certainly knew what Jiang Ning meant by his words.

Chu Qingxue had already twisted the shoulder strap of her handbag into a pretzel.

She had never felt so humiliated, and the hatred in her eyes for Jiang Ning was no longer disguised or concealed.

Originally, she was just having dinner with her best friend today, but since Jiang Ning made her unhappy, she wouldn't let Jiang Ning get away with it.

"I'm going to the restroom."

Chu Qingxue fled in panic, and Ning Junzhe felt even more relieved than Jiang Ning, giving Jiang Ning a thumbs up.

The dishes they ordered were served one by one, and Jiang Ning and Ning Junzhe ate heartily. They noticed that Chu Qingxue had been in the restroom for a long time before returning, and when she came back, her eyes were red, as if she had been crying.

Jiang Ning never expected that he had done anything to make Lu Junyan's first love, his white moonlight, cry. Just as he was feeling pleased, he heard a slight commotion at the shop entrance.

"Who is this guy? He's so handsome!"

"Is it some celebrity?!"

"Don't you recognize him? Lu Junyan, the president of the Lu Group."

Jiang Ning suddenly looked up and saw Chu Qingxue at the next table stand up and wave.

"Junyan, I'm here."

Lu Junyan looked in the direction of the sound and saw Chu Qingxue and Jiang Ning at the same time.

Immediately afterward, he caught a glimpse of Ning Junzhe sitting opposite Jiang Ning out of the corner of his eye.

Lu Junyan and Ning Junzhe's eyes met briefly, and they both raised their eyes simultaneously.

Lu Junyan sat down at Chu Qingxue's table, naturally taking a seat next to her.

"I saw your post on WeChat Moments, and your eyes were red. What happened?" Lu Junyan asked softly.

Jiang Ning was sitting at the next table, so she heard Lu Junyan's words clearly and understood why Chu Qingxue had been in the restroom for so long.

So it wasn't that she had the ability to make Chu Qingxue cry, but rather that Chu Qingxue deliberately cried for Lu Junyan's benefit.

"It's Jiang Ning!" Wang Yang immediately pointed at Jiang Ning indignantly, "She bullied Qing Xue!"
