Chapter 10 Jealousy
"You should take a taxi home yourself!"
Lu Junyan stared into her eyes with a calm that bordered on indifference.
It was completely different from when I watched Chu Qingxue.
Although it was expected, Jiang Ning's chest still hurt for a moment.
She suddenly turned around, and Lu Junyan suddenly grabbed her arm from behind.
Lu Junyan's grip was quite strong, at least stronger than Jiang Ning had imagined, and it made her arm hurt a little.
Perhaps sensing Jiang Ning's resistance, Lu Junyan loosened his grip a little.
"I just want to remind you not to be so harsh on Qingxue just because you're jealous. She can't take your place as Mrs. Lu."

Yunding Yuge is the residential complex where she and Lu Junyan's marital home is located.
"I could never have gone back there in the first place."
Jiang Ning originally wanted to take this opportunity to bring up the divorce with Lu Junyan again. She hadn't mentioned it before because Chu Qingxue was in the car, and she didn't want Chu Qingxue to be too smug. But now it seemed like a good opportunity, and she didn't want to miss it.
However, Lu Junyan seemed to have seen through her thoughts and stopped her from speaking before she could.
"I won't get a divorce, so forget about it!"
The luxury car sped away, leaving the manor eerily silent.
Jiang Ning tried to stay along the main road as much as possible, but it wasn't easy to hail a taxi. He even tried using a ride-hailing app, but no driver accepted the order.
Just then, a black Passat stopped in front of her.
"Miss Jiang..."
Jiang Ning was surprised to learn that the driver was Lu Junyan's assistant, Xiao Zhang.
"I was running some errands around here and didn't expect to see you. Where are you going? Can I give you a ride?"
Xiao Zhang's words puzzled Jiang Ning, as there was nowhere else nearby besides the Lu family manor.
"Then I'll have to trouble you."
Jiang Ning didn't stand on ceremony with Xiao Zhang; getting a ride was better than her walking alone at night and not being able to hail a taxi.
Along the way, Jiang Ning didn't say anything extra, and Xiao Zhang didn't ask anything either. He just followed the directions Jiang Ning gave him and took him to his apartment building.
Jiang Ning thanked them and got off the bus.
Xiao Zhang didn't leave immediately. Instead, he watched Jiang Ning's figure disappear into the building, and only took out his phone after the lights on the second floor came on.
"Mr. Lu, Miss Jiang has arrived home safely."
Lu Junyan's voice on the other end of the line was emotionless, and his only response was a simple "okay".
The next day, Jiang Ning got up very early, brought his documents and materials, and went to the juvenile detention center to complete the onboarding process.
Jiang Ning breathed a sigh of relief that Lu Junyan didn't interfere this time.
Her job is a youth counselor, a volunteer, and she doesn't get paid.
Of course, Jiangning is not short of money.
The onboarding process went more smoothly than she had imagined. The director of education personally showed her around the juvenile detention center and introduced her to the basic situation.
Jiang Ning didn't tell the other person that she was actually very familiar with this place because she had lived here when she was a child.
Compared to ten years ago, the layout here hasn't changed much, but it has clearly been renovated, giving it a refreshing feel.

Because her love for Lu Junyan began here.
However, she was the only one trapped in this budding romance, unable to move on; Lu Junyan had long forgotten about her.
"If there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me anytime... Teacher Jiang?"
Jiang Ning snapped out of his daze and nodded to the head of the teaching department.
She chose to volunteer at the juvenile detention center not to relive the sweetness of her youthful days with Lu Junyan, nor to wallow in self-pity because things had changed.
She wanted to do something meaningful.
Taking a deep breath, Jiang Ning was about to enter his office when he noticed something at the end of the corridor.
A group of students who looked rather unserious surrounded a handsome-looking instructor.
Jiang Ning could tell the difference at a glance because the students' school uniforms and the instructors' uniforms were different.
Although the instructor's job is to discipline these troubled teenagers, the instructor in front of him looks too immature, like a minor, and is surrounded by a large group of delinquent students with a strong sense of social responsibility. He looks like he's the one who will be bullied.
"What are you doing?" Jiang Ning walked over.
When the problem students saw the beautiful woman in professional attire arrive, some whistled, while others warned Jiang Ning to mind his own business.
"You are all minors. Fighting won't get you detained. However, if you have a conflict with the instructors, I can contact your parents and let you stay here for a few more years. It would be best if you could spend your best years here."
Jiang Ning spoke casually, but the problem students in front of him were anything but relaxed.
The leader scoffed and reluctantly led the group away.
"Are you alright?" Jiang Ning approached the handsome instructor.
"I'm fine, thank you for earlier!" The instructor touched the back of his neck with a shy smile, looking more like a high school student.
He took the initiative to extend his hand to Jiang Ning.
"Hello, my name is Ning Junzhe. You must be the new counselor?"
Jiang Ning shook hands with the other person. "Yes, my name is Jiang Ning."
"Actually, I'm new here too. I'm a volunteer like you, participating in university summer activities."
Jiang Ning subconsciously looked Ning Junzhe up and down. Although Ning Junzhe was wearing an instructor's uniform, he looked every bit the student from head to toe.
Ning Junzhe was also staring at Jiang Ning, his eyes sparkling.
"Ms. Jiang, you're so beautiful! You must be the school beauty, right?"
Jiang Ning was amused; she didn't think she looked as naive as a college student anymore.
"So you're only going to work until the end of this vacation?"
"Yes! Aren't you one too?"
“I’m not doing this part-time; I plan to stay here long-term.”
"But this job is volunteer work, there's no pay!"
Jiang Ning could tell that Ning Junzhe was very curious about her, but she just smiled and shrugged, not wanting to reveal any more of her private matters.
The two chatted for a few more minutes before returning to their respective work stations. During their lunch break, Ning Junzhe approached her, saying he wanted to treat her to a meal to thank her for helping him out of a difficult situation. Jiang Ning couldn't refuse, so she followed Ning Junzhe to a restaurant in a shopping mall.
This is a self-service Japanese restaurant. Jiang Ning and Ning Junzhe had just sat down when they bumped into Chu Qingxue, who was dining next door with Song Lili and Wang Yang.
Jiang Ning hesitated slightly but did not take the initiative to change seats. She did not want Chu Qingxue to think that she was afraid of her.
Chu Qingxue's smile remained unchanged, but she secretly gave her two best friends a wink.
"Oh, isn't this Miss Jiang? As a married woman, she's using her husband's hard-earned money to invite a gigolo out to dinner. Tsk tsk, her skin is thicker than a city wall."
Song Lili immediately raised her voice, causing many people in the store to crane their necks to look in their direction.
Ning Junzhe asked Jiang Ning in surprise, "You're actually married?"
