Chapter 50 I said I didn't. I didn't!

Chapter 50 I said I didn't. I didn't!

"You're really carefree! You sleep so soundly all by yourself."

Huo Zhenhua smiled and closed the window. Just as he was about to turn around, he suddenly thought of Su Meng's small wooden box and became puzzled.

She carried only a large backpack the whole way.

Her large backpack could hold a sniper rifle, but why couldn't I see the outline of that small wooden box?

He glanced at the sleeping girl, then his gaze swept over the large backpack inside.

Just as I was about to lean closer, the partition door was pushed open.

Startled, he immediately stood up straight and awkwardly turned to face the window.

Wang Qinglin let out a soft "Huh," his gaze shifting back and forth between the bed he and Su Meng shared twice before he exclaimed in surprise, "The regiment..."

Huo Zhenhua suddenly turned around, strode up to him, and shoved him away without saying a word.

Wang Qinglin looked at him seriously: "Regimental Commander?"

Huo Zhenhua coughed lightly, his expression calm, and asked seriously, "What are you doing back here? Did you finish your sweet soup?"

Wang Qinglin always felt that something was off about his regimental commander.

He looked at him suspiciously and said with certainty, "You're feeling guilty. Commander, you weren't just trying to kiss me..., were you?"

Before he could finish speaking, someone covered his mouth.

Huo Zhenhua glanced around to make sure no one was in the corridor before releasing his grip, his eyes cold and sharp. "Your mouth will get you into trouble sooner or later. Are you trying to kill us?"

Wang Qinglin had been Huo Zhenhua's partner since he enlisted in the army, and knew him better than he knew himself. Seeing Huo's shifty eyes, he suddenly realized who it was.

"Both are unmarried, and neither is married. Developing a normal boyfriend-girlfriend relationship is neither illegal nor against any rules. What are you panicking about?"

Huo Zhenhua's eyebrows furrowed, his whole body tensed, and he pointed his index finger at Wang Qinglin, gritting his teeth, "Our discipline is not to create or spread rumors."

Are you itching for some exercise?

I said I didn't. No!

Wang Qinglin is not afraid of a one-on-one fight with him, but he is afraid of being trained.

He immediately chickened out and raised his hands in surrender, "Okay! I know you didn't."

I misunderstood; I was blind.

Huo Zhenhua smirked, then, like two buddies, hooked his arm around his shoulder and forcefully turned him around. "Our mission isn't finished yet, let's go!"

Wang Qinglin was stunned. He shook off his hand and deliberately said, "I want to go back and rest."

You just approved my request, saying I was injured and too weak to go, and told me to come back and rest. So I won't go!

Huo Zhenhua ignored him and increased the pressure on his hands.

With his other hand, he pulled a bottle out of his pocket. "Here, I've got a hemostatic pill here. You're lucky."

Wang Qinglin pointed to the gauze on his head and questioned, "Do you think I need hemostatic pills?"

Huo Zhenhua glanced at the almost dried bloodstains on his gauze and felt no guilt whatsoever.

He snatched the hemostatic pill, put it into a medicine bottle like a precious treasure, and left.

All that was left was the sentence: "They say this also has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects."

Wang Qinglin: "......"

So it turns out he was ungrateful!

The blood on my head had dried, but the pain was still there.

He chased after him angrily.

On the other side, Su Meng stared blankly at the tightly closed partition door, her heart churning again.

Actually, she sensed Huo Zhenhua's approach.

Just as the silver needles at her fingertips were about to strike, Wang Qinglin arrived at such a convenient time.

It turns out that he had always suspected her.

I have never let go of my hostility towards her.

Even though she was under his watchful eye all day, he still didn't feel comfortable checking her backpack.

But she asked herself if she had done anything illegal or disorderly.

The only two times he actually killed someone were when he fought alongside them against the Japanese.

But given her poor marksmanship, she killed far fewer people than he did, so why should he suspect her of this or that?

What a scoundrel!

You can't stand seeing others do well, can you?

If it weren't for the good soundproofing of the partition door, Su Meng would have heard the scoundrel she was talking about categorically denying his feelings for her—"I didn't, I didn't!"

If Su Meng knew, she would only chuckle twice.

She felt that she and Huo Zhenhua were incompatible according to their birth charts and their magnetic fields didn't match.

After getting off the bus, we parted ways and went our separate ways.

By then, Ah Da's health should have recovered somewhat.

Maybe I'll be able to pick up my father soon.

She rubbed her rumbling stomach and was about to lock the door and enter the space when she heard the broadcast start up again.

"Attention passengers, please come to carriage number three immediately if you have any medical supplies such as catgut."

The broadcast played on a loop three times.

Su Meng ate a cucumber, picked up her small wooden box, and was about to leave.

Suddenly remembering his identity as "Lin Xi," he changed his clothes again before cautiously peeking out.

Carriage number three was located near the landslide area, where the injured rested.

The wounded who had been treated earlier have all been moved aside.

On the temporary hospital bed in the very center was a man with a sunken chest and covered in blood.

The man dug his hands into the edge of the bed, the muscles on the inside of his forearms bulging high and hard, even the veins were stretched white.

His bloodless lips trembled, his teeth were clenched, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

Large beads of sweat rolled into his eyes, but he stubbornly refused to blink, listening quietly as the doctor analyzed his condition.

"Lin Xi, you've arrived." When Mr. Mo Hengyu saw Su Meng approaching, he stopped talking and stepped aside.

He said, "You come and diagnose it."

Su Meng nodded, "Okay!"

As she got closer, she could see the man clearly.

Startled, she froze, her outstretched hand darting across his face before finally frowning and asking, "What, it's you?"

Then, the figure of a little girl flashed before my eyes.

She should have expected that this man would be on the same train, but she never expected to meet him in this way.

Is their relationship a tragic one or a tragic one?

The man heard her exclamation and stared at her with sharp eyes. Seeing that it was a stranger, he was puzzled.

Mo Hengyu stepped forward and asked, "You two know each other?"

Su Meng hesitated for a moment, then nodded: "I guess you could say we know each other."

Including this time, they have had three coincident encounters in less than half a month.

She didn't want to treat him, but thinking of the little girl's soft, sweet eyes, she moved her hand and placed it on his wrist.

"He broke two ribs and also had a hemopneumothorax."

After hearing her finish speaking, Mo Hengyu raised an eyebrow at the people behind him, "I knew Lin Xi's medical skills were no less than ours."

Someone chuckled awkwardly and came over, "Dr. Lin is a promising young man, but I wonder if he has all the necessary surgical instruments and medicines?"

Otherwise, let's pool our resources.

Just as Su Meng was about to speak, she caught a glimpse of a small, blue, teardrop-shaped corner peeking out from the man's bare shoulder blade.

She subtly moved his shoulder, and he was instantly stunned, as if struck by lightning.

She remembered that her family's ancestral precepts stated that men of the Su family had blue teardrop-shaped birthmarks on their shoulder blades;

The woman had a red, teardrop-shaped birthmark.

So, this man might be from her Su family?

They are her relatives!

With a quick glance, she reached for the small wooden box and moved all the top-quality medicinal herbs she had prepared earlier for the surgery into it.

Then, he opened his small wooden box and said, "I have the medicinal herbs I need, but I don't have the equipment to fix them."

I would appreciate it if the seniors could help me out, thank you!

For the Su family, the medicinal herbs must be the best.

But she didn't have any precognitive abilities, and she hadn't prepared for that kind of thing—fixation devices!

Mo Hengyu waved his hand generously, "I happen to have some."

Su Meng already knew that he had it, and that the other doctor with black-rimmed glasses also had it.

Only Mo Hengyu took it out without even blinking; the others remained silent, shrinking back.

Su Meng didn't mind and took out the medicines she needed one by one.

Mo Hengyu casually picked up a bottle labeled "painkillers" and asked, "Can I take a look?"
