In Shanghai, my mother saved many people, most of whom were poor people who couldn't afford medical expenses, but she always greeted them with a smile.
Later, my maternal grandparents passed away, and my mother was heartbroken every day. She stopped treating other patients. But no matter what, they were all good people.
Potato stood with his hands on his hips. He loved to eat; he would stuff anything that tasted good into his mouth. This short little guy had become quite chubby from eating so much.
Although he was only a few years old, he was already quite chubby. He was very strong and pushed Yangyang into the sandpit with one hand.
“You’re the bad guys. You and your sister are both bad guys. We don’t want to hang out with the offspring of capitalists. Your mother is a vixen, and you’re no better.”
"You'll be defeated sooner or later. You should go to the countryside and collect cow dung. We don't want to play with smelly kids. It's filthy."
Yangyang was pushed to the ground, crushing the sand wall that Junjun had made. Junjun immediately burst into tears, grabbed a handful of sand, and threw it on Yangyang and Yueyue's heads.
"How dare you damage my Great Wall? You're all bad people! I'm going to have my dad beat you to death! You're bullying me!"
He screamed and cried loudly.
Yangyang had a small scrape on his palm. He gently blew on it, patted the sand off his body, and quickly stood up from the sandpit.
Yangyang carefully shielded Yueyue behind him, spreading his arms to block the people in front of him.
"I didn't mean to. Someone pushed me and that's how I ended up on your Great Wall. I apologize, but we're not bad people."
Junjun cried even louder, “You’re a bad person! The son of a capitalist is bullying people! I’m going back to tell my mom and dad!”
The children didn't understand what they were saying, but they just joined in the commotion and made a fuss.
"The capitalist's son is bullying people. You two are bad guys. Come and beat the bad guys!"
In an instant, everyone on the playground gathered around, surrounding Yangyang and Yueyue.
“My mom told me a long time ago that I shouldn’t play with you. It turns out you really are bad people. If your mom hadn’t brought you here, your dad would have abandoned you long ago. Children who aren’t loved by their fathers are like weeds. You won’t have a father anymore.”
These words were somewhat vicious to Yueyue. Her voice was tinged with tears, but they came out trembling from behind Yangyang as she tightly gripped his hand.
"You're talking nonsense! Dad loves me and my brother the most. He would never abandon us. My mom says we'll always be a family. You're just bullying us here on purpose. Everyone can play in this sandpit!"
He and his brother had looked at their father's photos for years. They finally found their father after a long time, but now someone said that their father didn't want them anymore. Yueyue's little body couldn't help but tremble.
San Niu grabbed a handful of sand and threw it at Yueyue's head. "I said you can't play here, and I won't let you play here. This isn't a sandpit your family built. Go away."
Sand landed on Yueyue's face, and Yangyang glared at them angrily, "Why are you bullying my sister? We're not bad people! You're spreading rumors without even knowing the facts. You're the most annoying kids. No adult will like kids like you, and you'll become the most annoying adults in the future!"
He grabbed a handful of sand and threw it at San Niu without hesitation.
Junjun was still crying and shouting, "You owe me the Great Wall! I never want to play with you again! I want to find my mom!"
San Niu and Tu Dou embellished what they had heard from the adults.
"You two are bullies. You're both devils. When you grow up, you'll exploit others too. It's because of you that your father couldn't become a high-ranking official. You two are a burden and jinxes. Anyone who gets close to you will be unlucky."
Potato didn't understand what "spreading rumors" meant; he just kept pointing at the two people and cursing them.
Yangyang was so angry that he pushed Tudou to the ground. The two children started fighting. Yueyue was so scared that she cried. She was worried that her brother would get hurt, so she grabbed Tudou's hair tightly with one hand.
"You're not allowed to bully my brother!"
The other children clapped and laughed, chanting, "The capitalists are getting beaten up! Down with the capitalists! Down with the capitalists!"
The children joined in the commotion, and Yueyue and Yangyang were outnumbered. Yueyue's tears and snot streamed down her face, but she didn't stop pulling at her hair.
The more frightened she was, the stronger her grip became.
San Niu and Tu Dou were equally ruthless, kicking up dust in the sandpit.
As things escalated, the largest child in the corner came over and separated Potato and San Niu.
San Niu's hair was all torn apart, and she glared angrily at Xiao Shitou.
"Stone, what are you doing? Can't you see that those two bullied people first?"
Little Stone stretched out a hand to Yangyang and pulled him out of the sandpit.
"You were the ones who started this trouble. Hitting people is not allowed here!"
San Niu wiped the sand off her face, her clothes torn. "He started it, why can't we fight back?"
Stone was a bit older and bigger than the other children; his size alone was enough to overpower Potato.
Potato was furious. "Stone, you're siding with the capitalists! I'm going to tell your dad!"
Junjun wiped away his tears, "His father remarried and abandoned him a long time ago. He has neither a father nor a mother; he is an orphan."
A group of children started laughing and joking again, and Shi Tou clenched his little fists tightly, forming a circle around him.
