Chapter 51 Even in our most desperate times, we can still raise our children.

"This is what I should do. Why are you always so polite to me? From now on, we are family. Your child is my child. If anything happens to me in the future, I believe you will treat my child as your own. Qingqing, we only have each other, so my kindness to you is only natural. You don't need to be so grateful."

Li Qingqing nodded gently. Every time Shu Ying shared these heart-to-heart talks with her, she felt as if they had known each other in a past life, which was why they had such a deep understanding in this life.

"Alright, let's not talk about this anymore. It's good that you've recovered so quickly. Now that you've received your letter of introduction, everything will be a new beginning once we get to the capital. No one will be able to make things difficult for you anymore, and you'll be free to go anywhere."

Shu Ying's voice was tinged with joy as she spoke, and Tuan Tuan's bright, grape-like eyes kept darting around.

Li Qingqing's lips unconsciously curled into a slight smile: "It's strange, but Tuantuan won't let anyone hold him except me. He's only very affectionate with you. Yesterday, when you went out, the nurse helped watch over him for a while, and the little guy was so upset. He cried his heart out and only calmed down when I held him."

I don’t know if it’s because the first person I see when I open my eyes is Shu Ying, but every time Tuan Tuan sees Shu Ying, she smiles with her little mouth. She’s such a small child, but she can tell the difference between close and distant relatives.

Shu Ying touched the baby's fair and tender face with one hand. Li Qingqing's breast milk was good. Although the little guy was premature, he was chubby and looked like a strong young man.

"This shows that our Tuantuan is smart. Ordinary people can't take him away. I hope he can still stick to me like this when he grows up."

Li Qingqing smiled, she was already able to get out of bed and walk around: "You think this way now, but when you have your own thoughts and challenge you, I don't know how angry you'll be."

The two of them imagined what their children would look like when they grew up, where they would be then, and how they would be living.

Nobody knew, but Li Qingqing was really looking forward to it.

As if understanding, Tuantuan smiled even more happily at Shuying, waving his white, lotus-root-like arms incessantly.

Shu Ying's heart almost melted when she saw him looking at the doll-like figure in the New Year's picture.

She bent down slightly and picked him up: "Tuantuan needs to be fed. You feed the baby first. I'll go pick up Yangyang and Yueyue. When I get back, I'll tidy up the ward. We can be discharged today and then go buy train tickets together."

Shu Ying had already calculated the time. There was another train to Beijing at noon today, and they would be able to get to Beijing in two days at most.

Li Qingqing had just given birth and was still in her postpartum period. If it weren't for unavoidable circumstances, Shu Ying wouldn't have wanted her to go through such a bumpy ride, but the situation was indescribable.

Li Qingqing held the child in her arms and gently patted his bottom: "Okay, then you go quickly. After I finish feeding him, I'll tidy up the hospital first. See if there's anything else you need. I have some money here, you can take it to buy some things."

As she spoke, she turned to reach for the money in the inner pocket of her clothes on the bedside table, but Shu Ying stopped her.

“I still have some money on hand. You should keep yours safe. When we get there, we’ll need more money. Even a starved camel is bigger than a horse. Even if I’m down on my luck, I won’t be unable to support our child.”

She patted Li Qingqing's hand, her words revealing her plans for the future.

“What I’m most worried about right now is your health. We’ll be on the train for two days, and then we’ll have to take a bus. You’re still in your postpartum period, so what if you get sick on the way? Never mind, I’ll prepare some medicine in advance, just in case.”

Shu Ying was very thoughtful; she had already arranged all the itineraries. Li Qingqing's eyes were filled with admiration.

"Yingying, you make me feel more at ease than my man when you arrange these things in an orderly manner."

Shu Ying chuckled and glared at her, feigning anger: "Of course. Don't think of me as some kind of pampered young lady who can't do anything. When I was studying abroad, I was mostly on my own. Without planning, you're like a headless fly."

Her time abroad also allowed her to quickly grasp some basic rules of survival.

A hint of heartache flashed in Li Qingqing's eyes: "Go pick up the child quickly, and come back sooner."

Shu Ying came out of the ward, walked around the hospital corridor, and saw that there were hardly any people coming from the emergency exit. She closed her eyes and entered the space.

Yangyang and Yueyue heard the commotion and rushed over excitedly. Shuying caught the two children as they ran towards her.

"Mom, you're finally back! You and your brother have been playing with building blocks for ages."

Shu Ying smiled broadly: "I'm sorry to have troubled you two little ones. Let's pack our things now, and we can take the train in a bit."

The two children's eyes lit up simultaneously: "Can we go on the train today?"

Shu Ying patted Yangyang's head: "Of course, you two pack the toys you want to take. Mommy is in a hurry, so get moving!"

The little ones cheered with joy, but Shu Ying sighed.

She tried to bring Tuantuan in last night, but so far only Yangyang and Yueyue are allowed in besides her.

The situation was quite special a while ago, but the two children are living, breathing people, and we can't keep them locked up in one place all the time, unable to go anywhere.

She glanced at the two children, then tidied their small bags, which contained only water bottles, snacks, and some toys.

Aside from the two children's belongings, there wasn't much else to pack.

Shu Ying carried only a simple backpack as a cover, containing only some necessities, and it wasn't very heavy on her shoulders.

Everything else is stored in the space. Whenever needed, you can just pull it out of the bag, saving you the trouble of carrying all your belongings on your back.

"Have you two packed your things yet? Aunt Qingqing and little Tuantuan are still waiting for us at the hospital. We need to hurry to the train station."

Yangyang and Yueyue came running over: "We're all ready, Mom, let's go."

Shu Ying led the two little ones out of the house and went straight to the hospital.

Yangyang and Yueyue both found it amazing.

"Mom, why did we go straight to @#%¥…… after leaving home?"

Before Yangyang could even ask his question, all subsequent content related to the space was automatically muted.
