Jing Min stood there quietly, facing Chu Wuyang's accusations.
His face was like a bottomless lake, without the slightest ripple.
His gaze casually swept around the surroundings.
Then he gently raised his hand, the movement neither hurried nor slow.
With an innate composure, he beckoned a waiter to verify.
Completely disregarding whether Yun Yang would feel embarrassed with her right in front of him.
And the content sought for verification was indeed as Yunyang stated.
Midway through, his phone suddenly rang in his pocket.
Jing Min calmly took out his phone, glanced at the caller ID, and answered the call.
Clearly, the phone call was also aimed at confirming the truth or falsehood of Yunyang's actions.
The verification results were indeed as Yunyang had said.
Because of declining resources, she finally landed a decent role, though it involved a lot of action and martial arts.
This was a rare opportunity for Yunyang, who had suffered two bans, and she strived for perfection.
So I did everything myself; I signed up for the equestrian program at this club a month ago.
Jingmin's various attempts to verify the facts did not shy away from the fact that Yunyang was right in front of him.
They didn't hide anything at all.
The slap in the face didn't make him feel ashamed at all. He frowned, ignored it, and tried to pull Chu Wuyang away from this place.
Chu Wuyang's gaze inadvertently fell on Yun Yang's face at that moment.
She looked utterly disappointed, her eyes filled with a desolation that seemed to overwhelm anyone.
Even when Jingmin pulled her, Yunyang slightly stood up.
Her body trembled slightly, like a wounded little animal, and her aggrieved and reluctant appearance evoked pity in people.
Chu Wuyang understood that she needed to cooperate at this moment.
So she frowned slightly, her eyes filled with displeasure, and her voice carried a hint of coquettishness as she said:
"How could you do this? You misunderstood someone and didn't even show any remorse."
Upon hearing this, Jing Min paused slightly, his gaze fixed intently on Chu Wuyang's face.
His gaze was deep and focused, as if he wanted to see right through her.
After a long pause, he slowly lowered his gaze, as if reluctantly giving in, and asked softly:
"Then what should we do?"
Chu Wuyang raised her chin slightly and said matter-of-factly:
"Of course I should apologize and make amends."
Jing Min's gaze suddenly sharpened as he stared intently at Chu Wuyang.
His gaze held an inscrutable inquisitiveness as he pressed on with another question:
Are you sure?
Chu Wuyang felt inexplicably uneasy under his direct gaze.
She looked away somewhat uncomfortably, but still replied firmly:
"Sure!"
Jing Min suddenly laughed, the sound echoing in the silent space.
But if you look closely at the corners of his mouth, there is no real smile; the smile is more like a mockery.
He turned to look at Yun Yang, his eyes carrying a hint of superiority, and said politely yet coldly:
"Since my wife has said so, then to express my gratitude to Miss Yun for saving my life,"
"Would you do me the honor of having Miss Yun grace my humble abode with your presence and dine with me?"
His voice was neither too loud nor too soft, and every word seemed carefully chosen.
Although the words were polite, the underlying meaning clearly showed no remorse.
That haughty manner made it seem like he was bestowing charity or pity.
Chu Wuyang listened to Jing Min's words and fell into deep thought.
She knew perfectly well that Jing Min, who had been so resolute just moments before,
But then he suddenly changed his mind. He couldn't quite put his finger on it; it just felt strangely odd.
On the other side, Yun Yang, upon hearing Jing Min's invitation, seemed flattered and froze instantly.
His eyes sparkled with surprise and excitement.
Seeing Yun Yang's reaction, Jing Min chuckled softly, a hint of amusement in his voice, and asked:
"What, Miss Yun doesn't accept it?"
Yun Yang seemed to have just recovered from the huge surprise, and nodded hurriedly.
Chu Wuyang watched all this from the side, his brows furrowing deeper and deeper.
She always felt that everything was going too smoothly, so smoothly that it made her uneasy.
It was as if an invisible net was slowly tightening, but she couldn't see what was hidden behind it.
On the way back, the atmosphere inside the car seemed to be subtly altered by an invisible hand.
In the back seat, there seemed to be an invisible chasm between Chu Wuyang and Jing Min, and their sitting postures were slightly distant.
Li Yan, who was driving, glanced at the car discreetly through the rearview mirror and couldn't help but feel uneasy.
When he arrived, Mr. Jing was clinging tightly to his wife, his eyes full of affection, as if he wanted to stick his whole body to her.
On the way back, it felt like two strangers were sitting together, with an ocean between them.
He wondered to himself, could it be that the young couple had a fight?
But it doesn't look like it.
When we came out just now, it got windy, and President Jing didn't hesitate to take off his coat.
He gently draped the shawl over his wife, his movements tender and considerate.
Chu Wuyang sat there and felt that the air in the car was particularly stuffy, as if an invisible pressure was enveloping him.
From the moment Jing Min got into the car, he seemed like a completely different person. He picked up his tablet and documents.
When he gets focused on his work, his serious demeanor makes everything around him seem to vanish.
Chu Wuyang felt a strange sensation rising in her heart; these past few days, he had been constantly clinging to her.
Now that he's become a little colder, I feel like I'm missing something.
She gently reached out and opened the car window a crack, letting in a cool breeze.
