Chu Wuyang tightened her grip on the phone, her brows furrowing slightly, as she continued to finish what she hadn't said earlier on the phone:
"No, didn't you say he had feelings for you?"
"But why do I always feel there's something strange about how you two get along?"
"It felt like two complete strangers were forcibly brought together."
Yun Yang sounded visibly flustered on the other end of the phone, stammering as she tried to explain:
"There's nothing strange about it!"
"He did have feelings for me before, but he fell in love with you later, which is why he became so cold-hearted."
Chu Wuyang reached out her other hand, grabbed the leaves of the green plant in front of her, and tore them off one by one, her mind filled with confusion.
It's definitely not as simple as Yunyang made it out to be.
If Jingmin had really fallen for someone else so quickly, she wouldn't have gone to all this trouble.
She had originally thought that if the two of them had an existing emotional foundation, it would be easier to foster their relationship.
Just like her and Jingmin, they have a little-known past.
That's why Jingmin keeps bothering her, and she herself is often caught in contradictions and doubts.
Therefore, if their relationship is truly as deep as Yunyang claims,
That matter has probably already developed in a simpler direction.
Why has it become so confusing and perplexing?
She narrowed her eyes slightly, and the image of Yun Yang from the past came to mind.
Yun Yang had repeatedly and confidently proclaimed that she and Jing Min had a deep relationship, and she always displayed a sense of superiority in front of her.
She even made veiled accusations that she had interfered in their relationship.
She thought to herself that Yun Yang definitely knew nothing about her little past with Jing Min.
But why is she lying like this now?
Her gaze suddenly sharpened, and she said coldly:
"Yun Yang, you'd better not keep things from me."
"You know in your heart that we're in this together now."
“Jing Min is a very vengeful person. Once he realizes that you and I are plotting against him, we both know what will happen to him.”
She slowed her speech, analyzing the pros and cons word by word.
Each word was like a heavy hammer, striking at this subtle atmosphere.
Yun Yang sounded visibly guilty on the other end of the phone and started to evade the issue, her excuses slipping out:
"I don't understand what you're talking about. I still listen to everything you say."
The voice was weak and soft, and it carried a hint of trying to shift all the blame.
It was as if even if the truth were completely exposed, she would be nothing more than an innocent, forced participant.
Chu Wuyang smiled coldly to herself; how could she not know Yun Yang's thoughts?
Those who have already benefited from Yunyang's schemes should lay the groundwork for the future; perhaps after everything is accomplished, they will face consequences.
Even if Jing Min doesn't pursue the matter further, Yun Yang will remember what happened before and will turn around and accuse her.
She continued:
“If you don’t explain things clearly, the plan can’t proceed.”
"You know very well that Jingmin is completely obedient to me now. If I really wanted to, I could abandon you at any time."
Are you really willing to be despised forever and never be able to turn your life around?
Chu Wuyang thought to herself, since Yun Yang is unwilling to reveal her trump card, there's no need for her to rush things.
There's no need to plant a time bomb that could explode at any moment; there's a completely different plan.
After listening, Yun Yang's voice was clearly frightened, and she replied urgently:
"Okay, I'll tell you the truth,"
"All those words I said before were lies."
On the other end of the phone, Yun Yang's voice trembled slightly with resentment as she slowly said:
"I asked Jingmin out because I saved him. He agreed at the time, that's true, but he..."
Yun Yang paused slightly, as if something was stuck in her throat.
He hesitated for a moment before continuing, as if the words to come were somewhat difficult to utter.
"But he didn't like me that much."
"We rarely have the chance to be alone together on a regular basis."
"Perhaps out of gratitude, or perhaps to make amends to me, he never shortchanged me financially."
“I was too greedy. I wanted more than just material things from him; I longed for his heart.”
"All along, it has only been me who has been deeply in love with him on one hand."
Her voice trembled slightly, and after taking a deep breath, she continued:
"Including when I proposed breaking up with him, and even when I found someone else, all the stupid things I did were just to provoke him and make him care more about me."
"But to my surprise, he readily agreed to break up with you, and then seamlessly moved on to being with you."
"It all happened so suddenly, I was completely caught off guard."
"That's why I was jealous of you, which led to this series of absurd events."
"I only concealed these truths because I didn't want you to look down on me."
Chu Wuyang listened quietly to Yun Yang's long speech, her face as calm as still water.
It didn't seem too surprising; it appears Jingmin's stubbornness hasn't changed much.
He probably really did inherit Jin Lanyue's traits, just as Old Madam Jiang said.
They had hoped to uncover Yun Yang's hidden secrets as leverage, but instead learned that Jing Min's nature hadn't changed much.
But since Jingmin is so generous to Yunyang financially, she should be even less bothered by their past relationship.
She was hoping he would give up his KOALA shares.
As for Yun Yang's counterattack, at most he could only implicate Yun Yang in a premeditated scheme.
