Chapter 14 Sowing Discord

"They say it's better to tear down a temple than to break up a marriage. How come I didn't know that the young master, who has always been known as a gentleman, actually has a penchant for sowing discord between other people's couples?"

Chu Wuyang turned around and saw Jing Min's tall and upright figure, as slender as a pine tree, standing behind her. His entire aura seemed to have frozen, his eyes like ice, yet when they met, there was an illusion of the iceberg melting. Those clear, cold eyes were locked on her, and he walked towards them step by step.

"I wonder what kind of fetish Mr. Jing has for eavesdropping?" Wen Li frowned.

"I wouldn't say I was eavesdropping. I came to pick up my wife to see Old Master Zhou next week, and I happened to overhear Young Master Wen's instigation, which is why I couldn't help but interrupt."

“My wife grew up with Young Master Wen, and she even has to call you brother. Shouldn’t an older brother be hoping for his younger sister’s happiness and fulfillment? Why is it different for Young Master Wen?”

He was emphasizing his wife, which is normal.

But the irony is that it's extremely uncomfortable.

Wen Li also looked unwell.

"Of course, an older brother wants his younger sister to be happy. But while he will always be an older brother, he may not always be a wife."

Chu Wuyang's brow twitched.

My impression of Wen Li was that he was truly gentle, refined, humble, and polite; I had almost never seen him display such an aggressive side.

Upon hearing Wen Li's words, Jing Min's face turned ashen. If it weren't for his self-restraint, he might have already started to attack. The atmosphere was tense and volatile.

He scoffed, "Calling someone 'brother' is just politeness. Young Master Wen really thinks too highly of himself. I don't believe that meddling in other people's family affairs is something a well-mannered person would do."

Chu Wuyang tugged at his sleeve, her face showing displeasure.

Jing Min looked down at her obviously upset face, thought for a moment, and then said to Wen Li, "Young Master Wen was quite offensive just now. I hope you will do me the honor of hosting a dinner another day."

He then turned to Chu Wuyang and said, "It's too late to say more today. Since we're here, we should still meet the host."

Chu Wuyang managed to force a cold smile. "Brother Wenli, let's go in first."

After saying that, he walked straight towards the hall without even looking at Jingmin.

Are you unhappy?

When Jing Min, who had followed behind, asked, Chu Wuyang practically rolled her eyes inwardly.

"Otherwise, do you think I should be happy?"

She had barely spoken when a gentle tug pulled her into a tight embrace, rendering her unable to move.

Jingmin held the soft, warm person in his arms, and the emptiness in his heart seemed to be filled instantly.

A sense of satisfaction,

Actually, he had only been there a short while, and judging from their expressions, he roughly knew what they were talking about.

What topics could Wen Li, Yang Jinchu's good brother, possibly discuss with her now that he's by her side?

It's all about that person, how can he remain unmoved?

Chu Wuyang was incredibly agitated at this moment: "Let go, Jingmin, let go of me!"

They had just stepped outside into the lobby, and unlike the bright and bustling interior through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the lights here were dim and the place quiet.

"Just a little while... don't move."

Jing Min remained unmoved, holding her as if he wanted to etch her into his very bones, his breathing slightly erratic.

Chu Wuyang was getting angry. She struggled but couldn't break free. She remembered Lin Yuebai glancing over from the terrace earlier, her gaze lingering and searching. She must have already seen Jing Min standing behind them! He was constantly irritating her.

Feeling annoyed, she didn't hesitate and pinched his waist hard through his thin shirt.

"hiss...."

Jing Min frowned, a sharp pain shooting through him... it really hurt...

On the other side, Wen Li, standing on the terrace, looked at the man beside him, quietly watching the two embracing tightly, his eyes unfathomable. "Beautiful?" Wen Li didn't understand Yang Jinchu. He felt he had simply come here to be tortured.

"If I remember correctly, you usually have absolutely no interest in any kind of speech, so why would you go to someone's school to give a speech, then bring them back to your country, and then follow them here just to see them being affectionate?"

Although Yang Jinchu inherited his father's business in Australia, he also holds a position at a university as a professor in the architecture department.

Even from a distance, Yang Jinchu's gaze remained fixed on that slender figure from behind; his eyes had been following her ever since she appeared.

"Affectionate? They'll never be in love. She hates Jingmin too much to even think about it."

Yang Jinchu's lack of eye contact with Wen Li seemed to be an answer to himself, his tone revealing a stubbornness and certainty.

"What about Wen Ying? I've heard you two are quite close lately,"

"Wen Ying is my cousin. She's kind and stubborn. If you don't like her, you should tell her sooner rather than later. Otherwise, if she gets carried away and you hurt her, I won't let you off the hook."

Yang Jinchu raised his hand and placed it on Wen Li's shoulder, saying calmly, "Don't worry, it won't happen. It's just asking her for a small favor."

"You heard what I just said, you should let go and move on,"

"Jin Chu, you have a long road ahead of you. Look ahead, and you will meet someone who makes your heart flutter again. In fact, there is one right in front of you. You can give it a try with Wen Yingzhen."

Yang Jinchu forced a weak laugh but remained silent. He had heard similar words far too often; if he could let go of them, he wouldn't be standing here.

He firmly believed that if they could separate once, they could separate again. It didn't matter; he could wait.

Judging from his reaction, Wen Li knew that he didn't take it to heart. He really didn't understand. Chu Wuyang had already started a new life. Even if there were any misunderstandings in the past, now that she was married, everything was settled, wasn't it?

But even if they don't understand, given their life-or-death bond,

He will comply with his requests, such as bringing him to this banquet, and other forms of assistance.
