Upon hearing Chu Wuyang's question, Jing Min frowned slightly, lowered his head, and pondered for a long time before slowly speaking:
"Well... it's not impossible, after all, you have a history of lying to me."
His voice carried a hint of hesitation, but his gaze was fixed on Chu Wuyang.
Chu Wuyang's expression changed slightly, his brows furrowing as if dark clouds were gathering and a storm was brewing.
Seeing this, Jingmin gently shook his head and handed her the orange he had just peeled.
He tentatively said:
"But as you just said, you're not so stupid as to help someone seduce your own husband, are you?"
After saying that, he stared at her intently, as if trying to find the most truthful answer from her face.
A glint flashed in Chu Wuyang's eyes like a shooting star, then she met his gaze without flinching.
Her eyes were open and honest, like a clear spring, undisturbed; her clear voice carried a hint of confidence and a touch of teasing.
"Of course not, besides, would you have such poor judgment as Zhou Chen?"
This rhetorical question, which subtly elevates someone while belittling them, instantly dispelled the gloom in Jing Min's heart. A smile crept onto his lips, and he chuckled softly.
Chu Wuyang asked again, with a mix of joking curiosity and curiosity.
What if what she just said was true?
Although she had planned out all possible escape routes
But I still want to know how he will react when he finds out the result.
The smile on Jing Min's face vanished instantly, his eyes becoming as deep and cold as a frozen pool, as if they could freeze the surrounding air.
He narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at her.
A fierce light gleamed within, like a wild wolf hunting for food in the dark.
"If it's true..."
The deep voice seemed almost tangible, startling Chu Wuyang as if she had been doused with cold water.
He unconsciously shrugged his shoulders.
Jing Min's sharp, hawk-like eyes instantly caught this subtle movement.
It felt as if a string in my heart had been quietly plucked.
His tone softened involuntarily, like a spring breeze gently brushing against solid ice.
You probably don't want to know.
He paused slightly, then added,
"Even you wouldn't do that, so what's the point?"
Chu Wuyang, however, seemed to have been ignited by her competitive spirit, remaining extremely persistent, her eyes sparkling with a lively light.
Her voice held a hint of coquettishness and a barely perceptible desire to please, as she said sweetly:
"Just tell me! Just have a casual chat."
It looked like a cunning kitten, gently scratching at people's hearts with its paws.
Jing Min, exasperated by her persistence, could only sigh and furrow his brow slightly.
With a hint of indulgence and pampering, he compromised:
"Because I don't know what I'm capable of doing!"
Chu Wuyang remained silent, her small lips slightly pouting, her expression clearly showing dissatisfaction with Jing Min's answer.
Seeing her like this, Jing Min suddenly stretched out his large hand and firmly grabbed the armrest of Chu Wuyang's chair.
With a little effort, he pulled the chair, along with Chu Wuyang, to his side.
He leaned down slightly, his long, slender fingers gently touching her smooth forehead.
His tone carried a mixture of feigned annoyance and genuine concern:
"Alright, stop thinking about all that nonsense all day. Why can't we just live our lives properly?"
Chu Wuyang was extremely annoyed and thought to himself: He doesn't understand at all!
The key is that you have already taken that step and are determined not to give up halfway.
It's not impossible for her to want to live a good life, but no matter how much she pleaded, he refused to return the company to her.
Moreover, there's the matter of his grandmother in the middle. With all these entanglements, how could he possibly live a carefree and easy life as he claims?
Her eyes darted away, afraid that Jing Min would notice something in her gaze, so she could only turn her head slightly to avoid his stare.
Seeing her mood suddenly drop, Jingmin felt a pang of pity and could only offer gentle words of comfort:
"Alright then, even if you lied to me, I forgive you."
Upon hearing this, Chu Wuyang's eyes lit up instantly, and he hurriedly asked:
"real?"
Jing Min raised an eyebrow slightly, his eyes full of inquiry, as if trying to see through her thoughts.
What are you thinking about?
"Don't think of me as some kind of coward, provided you're still by my side, otherwise... hmph!"
The unspoken words seemed shrouded in a mysterious veil.
This made Chu Wuyang extremely anxious, and she hurriedly asked:
"Or what?"
Jing Min gazed intently at her, his eyes seemingly capable of drowning a person.
He gently raised his hand and tenderly tucked the stray hairs from her forehead behind her ear.
His voice, however, was as calm as if he were recounting an ordinary event:
"Otherwise, let's all perish together, burning each other to the ground!"
Chu Wuyang forced an awkward smile, trying to ease the tense atmosphere.
"Is it that serious?"
Jingmin picked up his coffee cup, took a small sip, nodded slightly, and looked serious and earnest.
"It's that serious!"
Chu Wuyang's eyelids were lowered, and her long eyelashes cast a shadow beneath her eyelids.
He looked completely intimidated by Jing Min's harsh words.
She silently berated him in her heart, but said aloud:
"That's true, President Jing certainly has the ability,"
"You are now all alone, with no ties to you,"
"I have such a large family to support; it's not worth it to die together with them,"
"I wouldn't dare do anything stupid that would displease you!"
Looking at her like this, Jing Min smiled faintly and nodded in deep agreement.
At the same time, he reached out and gently stroked her cheek with his fingertips, saying with a hint of teasing and admiration:
"Those who understand the times are wise!"
There seemed to be a hint of inquiry in his eyes, as if he was testing the truth or falsehood in her words.
