After careful preparation and a thorough inspection, Jingmin looked at the newly built equestrian arena in front of him.
With a deep frown, he expressed his intention to tear it down.
The risk level of equestrian sports is simply too high.
I can't help but complain:
Why choose a risky activity like horseback riding?
Chu Wuyang immediately objected when she heard that Jing Min wanted to demolish the equestrian center.
Her eyes widened, her cheeks puffed out slightly, and she said:
"What business is risk-free?"
"As long as we take proper protective measures, everything will be fine."
"Besides, didn't you check me carefully after I fell off the horse? There was absolutely nothing wrong with me!"
Jing Min's face remained gloomy, showing no sign of softening. His lips were tightly pressed together, and his eyes were full of worry and determination.
Seeing him like this, Chu Wuyang quickly stepped forward, grabbed his arm, and repeatedly assured him:
"There really won't be any more major problems. I'll be more careful in the future, so don't even think about dismantling the equestrian center."
Just then, Jing Min's phone rang; it was Yan Zhou calling.
Jingmin didn't want to pay attention to it and, feeling annoyed, put his phone on silent.
Seeing this, Chu Wuyang reached for the phone, pressed the answer button, and immediately heard Yan Zhou's anxious and questioning voice from the other end of the line:
"Why is it you answering the phone, Madam?"
"Where's President Jing? Has something happened?"
Chu Wuyang turned her head slightly and glanced at Jing Min, who was still angry and looked unwell.
A hint of hesitation flashed in his eyes, and he said softly:
"It's alright, he's here."
"Is there something urgent? I'll pass it back to him."
Yan Zhou paused for a moment on the other end of the phone and said:
"Oh, it's nothing,"
"I just wanted to ask about a meeting that was arranged in advance, but President Jing hasn't shown up yet."
“He’s never late. I was worried something might have happened, so I called to check on him.”
Chu Wuyang responded, "Understood."
Then she handed the phone to Jingmin, and at the same time gently nudged his shoulder with her other hand, urging him:
"Hurry up and go to the company. Yan Zhou has already called to urge us. Everyone is waiting!"
Jing Min took the phone, sighed helplessly, and then gave Chu Wuyang a few more words of advice with concern:
"You should rest at home and stop thinking about horseback riding. We'll discuss it properly when I get back."
Then he turned and left.
This whole farce caused chaos and turmoil, all just to prove to Yun Yang the man's keen insight.
There are informants everywhere here; this is also a way of repeatedly warning Yunyang.
Remind her not to be complacent because of some superficial progress.
We must not become passive or slack off just because there has been no significant progress yet.
Chu Wuyang slightly raised her eyes and walked unhurriedly to the chair.
She slowly sat down, a faint smile playing on her lips, and said softly:
"Now you see?"
Yun Yang's gaze was still somewhat unfocused, as if she hadn't yet recovered from the shock she had just experienced.
His brow furrowed slightly, his tone tinged with bitterness and doubt:
"Even a fool could see that since you've proven how much he cares about you, wouldn't it be better to just settle down and live a peaceful life?"
Why drag me into this again?
"Transferring one person's love to another is both ridiculous and difficult."
Chu Wuyang scoffed as if he had heard something utterly ridiculous, his smile full of sarcasm:
"You still think I'm showing off in front of you for such trivial matters of love?"
This condescending tone left Yun Yang speechless, as if something had choked her throat.
Chu Wuyang leaned forward slightly, staring intently at Yun Yang, and then slowly, word by word, uttered:
"Haven't you realized he's sick?"
Upon hearing this, Yun Yang's body jolted, and her eyes widened instantly.
His face was full of surprise as he turned to look at Chu Wuyang, his mouth slightly agape.
Chu Wuyang remained calm and composed as he sat upright and spoke slowly:
"It's not a serious, life-threatening illness."
"I heard Grandma Jiang mention it briefly; it should be inherited from her maternal side."
"So what you see in him, all his excessive concern and paranoid behavior towards me, is perhaps just because of this illness."
A glimmer of light flashed in Yun Yang's eyes for a moment, but it quickly dimmed again.
She still harbored doubts about Chu Wuyang and didn't fully trust him; she was only acting according to his words out of necessity.
Although this was something she had secretly hoped for, after being stung once, it was always good to be more careful.
She asked in a seemingly casual, soft voice:
Is it true?
Chu Wuyang did not answer directly, but instead asked:
"Then look at what he just did. Don't you think it's disgusting?"
“In the two years of our marriage, he has been so suffocating that I can hardly breathe.”
"Why do you have to meddle in every little thing? Isn't that just crazy?"
Upon hearing this, Yun Yang slowly lowered her head and remained silent.
She was completely unaware that Jingmin had this side to him.
Although she was his "girlfriend," she was never deprived of material comforts while they were together.
Yet the relationship between the two was more distant than that between strangers.
She had originally thought that he was just naturally aloof.
If, as Chu Wuyang said, one has to inquire about and monitor every matter, big or small, then one must truly be ill.
After all, it's impossible for a person to have such a drastic difference in their attitude towards others.
