Yun Yang frequently visited the Jing family manor to accompany Chu Wuyang in horseback riding practice, but she rarely encountered Jing Min, because she would only come after he had left.
Jing Min returned after she left, perfectly aligning their timelines. Jing Min and Chu Wuyang also appeared to have a peaceful and harmonious relationship.
During this time, Chu Wuyang also observed that Yun Yang had indeed calmed down a lot, which reassured her that nothing unpredictable would happen because of her.
———
That day, Chu Wuyang looked at Jing Min with bright, sparkling eyes, and gently shook his arms with both hands:
"Jingmin, I've been training my horse really well lately, let's go horseback hunting at the private hunting grounds!"
Jingmin frowned slightly, his face full of worry:
"There are many dangers in the hunting grounds. What if something happens?"
Chu Wuyang pouted, refusing to back down:
"It'll be fine, I want to go."
Jingmin sighed helplessly.
Chu Wuyang excitedly added another sentence:
"Bring Yunyang along too. She's been helping me practice these past few days. I feel at ease with her by my side."
A hint of doubt and displeasure flashed in Jingmin's eyes:
"Why bring her along?"
"Oh dear, I'm used to her being around."
Jing Min coughed lightly and said tactfully:
"That depends on whether they have time during their work schedule."
Chu Wuyang stamped her foot and scolded:
"It's just a matter of you saying a word."
Jingmin couldn't refuse, so he had no choice but to agree and arrange a time.
——
As Chu Wuyang arrived at the helipad and was about to board the helicopter, she immediately spotted Zhou Chen inside.
She paused for a moment, her gaze sweeping indifferently over Yun Yang, thinking to herself:
Why is Zhou Chen here? Plans never keep up with changes. It seems I'll have to improvise.
Yun Yang was also slightly taken aback, a hint of surprise flashing across her face, but she quickly regained her composure.
Zhou Chen greeted him warmly with a smile:
"Little Sun, long time no see! Today is sure to be very interesting!"
Chu Wuyang slightly twitched the corners of her mouth and politely responded:
"yes,"
Besides the four of them, several attendants were also traveling with them, responsible for security and logistical support.
Jing Min stepped forward and put his arm around Chu Wuyang, then calmly looked at everyone and said:
"Go on up, don't waste time."
They took a helicopter and quickly arrived at a private hotel near the hunting grounds.
The hotel is extremely luxurious, with dazzling crystal chandeliers in the lobby and exquisite room furnishings.
Chu Wuyang stood by the window, gazing at the beautiful hunting grounds outside, and said to Yun Yang:
"Zhou Chen's appearance was unexpected, but it's alright. If things don't work out, just relax and don't be too reserved."
Yun Yang nodded, "I know!"
The first day of the hunt officially began.
Chu Wuyang, riding her horse with a heroic air, was the first to charge into the hunting grounds, turning back to call out to everyone:
"Come on, let's see who gets the most today!"
Jing Min shook his head helplessly, quickened his pace to catch up, and called out:
"Slow down, don't fall."
Zhou Chen stayed close to Yun Yang, occasionally striking up a conversation:
"Yunyang, look at that grove of trees, there might be a lot of wild rabbits there."
Yun Yang focused intently on observing her surroundings, and simply replied casually:
"Hmm, that's possible."
At midday, sunlight filters through the dense foliage, casting dappled shadows.
The group rested in an open area of the hunting grounds, and the attendants quickly set up tables, chairs, and food.
Chu Wuyang leaped off her horse and excitedly ran to Jingmin's side:
"Today was really fun. I haven't ridden horses so freely in a long time."
Jingmin smiled and handed her a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from her forehead.
"You be careful."
Yunyang watched them quietly from the side, a ripple of emotion stirring within her.
Zhou Chen noticed Yun Yang's mood, quietly approached her, and whispered:
"Yunyang, don't overexert yourself. If you don't want to continue hunting, we can go back to the hotel first."
Yun Yang gave him a grateful look:
"I'm fine, thank you."
The afternoon hunt continued, and the atmosphere remained joyful.
Chu Wuyang would occasionally shoot a prey and then cheer with joy;
Jing Min calmly pursued the large prey, demonstrating superb horsemanship and archery skills;
Yun Yang focused on exploring every corner of the hunting grounds, and Zhou Chen always stayed by her side, protecting her.
However, the situation took a sharp turn for the worse the next day.
As they ventured deeper into a remote area of the hunting grounds, Jingmin, in his pursuit of a deer, inadvertently stumbled into a deeply hidden trap.
The bottom of the trap was covered with sharp wooden stakes, and Jing Min's leg was cut, the blood instantly staining his trouser leg red.
He endured the excruciating pain and tried to climb out, but the trap was too deep and the surroundings were incredibly slippery.
Hearing Jing Min's shouts, Chu Wuyang hurriedly rode over, his face pale, and shouted from beside the trap:
"Jingmin, how are you? Hang in there!"
Jing Min looked up at her and calmly comforted her:
"I'm fine, don't worry, I just got a cut on my leg."
Upon arriving, Yunyang immediately began searching for anything she could use.
She spotted some thick vines not far away and quickly ran over.
He cut off several pieces with the dagger he carried with him, and then tied one end firmly to a large tree.
Zhou Chen anxiously tried to dissuade him from the side:
"Yunyang, this is too dangerous, you can't go down!"
Without the slightest hesitation, Yun Yang gripped the vine tightly and said to Jing Min with a determined look in her eyes:
"Jingmin, let me help you up."
After saying that, she slowly descended into the trap along the vines.
